Copa del Rey - 2017/18

lost for words. Messi’s passing is as good as anyone who has ever played. How can you be the best finisher, best dribbler, best passer. All rolled into 5ft 6 of nothingness. Frightening
Going to be hilarious when he doesn't win POTY because Barcelona can't win the CL and Argentina the WC.

Barcelona have been a joy to watch so far. Valverde deserves a lot of credit. They looked like a team in crisis last season and many expected losing Neymar to set them back even more but they are dominating things once again. Then they were outclassed by Madrid in the Super Cup and now it's Madrid who are in crisis. It's funny how things change so quickly in football.

Barca have a great shot at CL, the only thing stopping him from POTY is if neymar has one of the greatest world cups ever

Alba-Messi connection is just out of this world this season. Imagine a player like Alba as our left back, would give so much in attacking play.

Such is the importance placed on big tournaments that I think even if Neymar has an average WC but gets 2-4 goals and Brazil win the thing he'll win the award despite there being quite clearly just one player at the top this entire season.

We're at 10th of January, let's cross our fingers and not assume things both ways (That Messi stays healthy and playing well and we don't win the UCL)

Suarez might have forgotten how to play football but he's still deadly in the box

Those awards should best be ignored. If people who voted actually took the time to watch the games of players they're voting on, i'd wager the end result would be very different indeed.

I can agree with that, if Brazil wins WC neymar will probably get it.

Shame that Argentina is so poor outside of Messi. Plus they’ll have a much tougher path to the WC than they had in 2014.

They don't need all cylinders firing to get in the final, if Dybala and Di Maria have a good month in the front spots and a couple defenders perform good too, that should be enough for Messi to bring them into the final

They have a lot of class strikers not working, but if two random ones get a good run they're as dangerous as Germany or France

With Anoeta coming up Leo should really rest but he never wants to rest

Huh? He got benched 20 minutes ago.

Also, I'd like to see how much he ran today, probably less than in some trainings :D

Rakitic 5-0 from the corner. Well deserved assist for Dembele. He's looked very sharp today.

I hope so, would be such a tragedy if Messi doesn’t get another shot in the WC final.

Their midfield is brutal though, they can’t even play basic 1-2’s.

And they’d have Portugal, France, Brazil and Germany on their side of the bracket too

If how players do in the biggest moments of the biggest competitions doesn't matter surely it should go to the guy who's scoring, assisting, creating chances and dribbling at a better rate than him?

Also, both Barcelona and Argentina are perfectly good enough to win those competitions.

Their turnaround after the Spanish Super Cup has been incredible. You can see Valverde's work here.

The reason he's the best dribbler and passer is because he's 5ft 6

As for poty, neymar's running messi pretty close so far this season

One plays in La liga, arguably the best league while the other is clowning around in Ligue 1.

A lot of United fans don’t want him though ;)

In all seriousness, I’ve always rated Jordi as a top 3 LB in the world along with Marcelo and Alaba. He is fantastic going forward and good defensively too. He also never gives up when tracking back, unlike the sometimes lazy Marcelo.

Nevertheless. He's also arguably been better in the CL group stage

In fairness, everyone that watched us in the Ney seasons wouldn't see a lot of good things from Alba, and specially in the last two. I'd understand if someone got to see him in big games and a couple scarce ones and thought that he didn't offer anything in attack and was a subpar defender compared to a specialist LB or even Mathieu.

Guess we just have to be glad no one came looking for him with a good offer, because we probably would've sold him in those seasons thinking that with Ney, we didn't need his projection on attack

The way Barca's players run when attacking is incredible, specially being used to how static we are.
