Cop in America doing a bad job, again

Started to and enjoyed it at first but it quickly began to annoy me when the dickhead new chief arrived and it became a showcase of everything wrong with policing in America.

Yep, right down to spray painting their new humvee black and riding in the back of it with automatic weapons, then strolling around neighborhoods with their assault rifles like they were patrolling a war zone.

fecking disgusting.

Yeah I began to see that, the ‘catt’ squad, was it?
I turned it off after they watched the philando Castile murder and the blue lives matter nutter was raging at how bad this would make the police look. It was sociopathic

Yea that was pretty sickening.

Is imminent domain being argued?

US professional sports clubs with county/municipality support are notorious for this. I would not be surprised if Corporate America operates under the same umbrella.

You think so?

If he were to make 50.000 a year for all those years, taking out 30% in taxes, that would make his effective compensation for 40 years in jail 850.000. I realize that he'll live comfortably for the rest of his life, but in my world spending your entire adult life in wrongfully in prison should be worth more than that.

Don't know of any cases from other countries, so I don't have anything to compare with, though.
Would be more than 30% if he gets the 2.5 million

they should all be fired and the pig who kicked him should be in jail

What a dickhead.

Opinions like the one in the last tweet hardly helps the issue though.

Unfortunately there are quite a lot of cops with similar attitudes in the US. Its a shame because its a minority but the majority turn a blind eye or give blatantly dishonest statements to protect them. Any cop caught doing that sort of stuff should be fired immediately, and charged if necessary. Any cops protecting them should be reprimanded and demoted, and fired if they do it again.

The off duty cop brandishing a gun in a gas station to a law abiding citizen should be charged like any other citizen. Guns are a weapon of last resort and there was nothing in that video that even suggested he needed to say anything let alone stroke his fragile ego by waving a gun in someones face.

So can a cop just do anything he wants when off-duty? There's got to be rules governing their actions or anyone could just claim to be an off-duty cop and 'confiscate' someone's property.

@Skizzo what are you allowed to do when off duty?

Unless it’s life or death, we’ve been told to be a better witness than try and get involved and risk escalating a situation unnecessarily. Also made it a point that if you are gonna carry an off-duty weapon, carry your badge and ID, and vice versa.

Yeah I don't see how you can just pull a gun and claim you're a cop. Don't you carry ID at all times anyway? Besides, I don't know how anybody can justify lethal force on a bloke robbing a packet of mints.

I always have my police ID on me. The point they make, however low the chances may be, is that carrying your ID or badge in your wallet could lead to issues if someone ever steals your wallet or robs you/sees it etc, because then they’ll have your home address and know you’re law enforcement etc.

I'm not sure if this is even the right thread but I have to post it somewhere

Carmichael has repeatedly defended his decision to put juveniles in solitary confinement. He’s permitted the jail to force children to live in small, windowless jail cells completely alone for 23 hours a day. These kids aren’t permitted visits, library books, or phone access. Many of them haven’t even been convicted of crimes.

Post the video at least. Its a strange situation. The groundhog was moving towards him and charged. It could have had rabies which would explain its crazy behavior. Even the humane society said the officer did the correct thing.

The local humane society said the officer did the right thing. He stood tall, stamped his feet and gave the animal and escape route. It continued to move towards him and showed aggression which is often a good indication of rabies. Not really sure what anyone expects the officer to do in that situation.

Just to add a little bit of balance to the thread:

Why should they all be fired? If it is proven they lied then yeah I agree but you can't just fire everyone involved when they might not have seen what happened.

The kick is ridiculous though. What an idiot.

How can they not mention that another officer assaulted a man who was handcuffed on the ground? They filed false reports to cover it up.
