Conte | Spurs Manager

Same.

This shows we haven’t even remotely contacted him for Ole’s position.

I think we’ve identified somebody else and will stick with Ole until then.
I think we hope Ole works out.

It's fecking Poch I've never been so certain in my life..

Conte every post match till January: We need to spend money in January for new players.
Conte in January:The owners don't want to spend money for new players

I think we hope Ole works out.

This is absolutely the case. We've not approached anyone about the job and Ole will be here until AT LEAST the summer. Top 4 depending Ole will still be here next year, all depends on Top 4 as we know.

It will be interesting to see how he does with that Spurs squad. It's not particularly good and in need of investment. If he manages to get a top 4 spot it will be an impressive achievement.

If he could even get them challenging for the title next year, in it till the fourth or third last week, that would be really good.

If he thought the Inter chairman was stingy he hasn't seen anything yet. There's no way him and Levy won't come to blows at some point.

He’ll try to play along for a while with Paratici there to keep things calm but eventually Levy will feck it up.

He must have been seriously desperate for a job to go there. He won't be challenging for the league ahead of Klopp and Pep. He'll probably take them into the top 4 and thats it. I have a feeling he will have a big fallout with Levy within 1 year.

could be until the end of season, would not put it past Conte to walk out on Levy if he tries to screw him with spending in the summer.

I would have liked to see what Conte could do here, even though we all know it would eventually come to a boiling point between him and the board on spending and the eventual sack/mutual parting. The only thing I don’t want to see is if Ole gets the sack after City, that we start seeing a bunch of reports that the club is in a scramble for a replacement because they thought Conte would still be available. I don’t think that narrative will arise since there were some reports they want to go with an English manager for the job, but who knows.

The Levy - Conte meltdown next summer will be glorious to watch.

The guy is a winner, and he’ll expect no less at Spurs. I’m interested as to how him and Levy will get on and what he’s potentially been promised to make him go there. No doubt I think they’re strong contenders for top 4 now, they will be challenging us for the final spot.

If he didn't get sacked after the Liverpool game then nothing will.

He'll get sacked only if top 4 becomes mathematicaly impossible probs some bs clause they have written in the contract.

Spurs:

Everton (A)
Leeds (H)
Burnley (H)

United:

City (H)
Watford (A)
Chelsea (A)

A decent chance they leapfrog us at the weekend and gain more points on us over those 3 games.

Wait for the fecking media then.

That ought to do it.
If we try this...?.

Hardest thing to do in football is score. They have Kane and Son who are still 2 of the top 5 attackers in the league. One he sorts out the defensive side of things, those 2 can win him games.

Levy and Conte, wow, some personalities there. Even if he brings them a top 4 finish, there is no chance this will end well. A demanding natural born winner at Spurs? As they say in Two and a half men :You can put a tuxedo on a goat, but it’s still a goat. An utter funny and ironic match..

This is bad news.

I know that true supporters are meant to just pretend it’s ok and laugh off these things, but this is very bad news.

He is a top coach and he will whip some of those players into shape very quickly.

It is a coup for Spurs and bad news overall, but for the people who want Ole out of United, the silver lining here is that Solskjaer making 4th place this season (and thereby buying himself another year) just became a bit more difficult.

To be clear, that's not how I want things to pan out, but I do see Spurs as genuine contenders for that 4th CL spot now.

If we assume he uses the 3 at the back he's stuck with the last 5 years I don't think it's a terrible squad for him.

Romero played in a 3 at the back system for Atalanta (though they mark man to man a lot more apparently).Tanganga seems like a decent fit on the right of a 3. Dier has played well in that setup and can backup Romero. Seems like they'll need to sign a left-sided CB as Davies has struggled for a while now. Reguilon and Doherty have attacking games to play wingback and Royal and if he ever gets back Sessegnon are a bit average but not terrible fits. Not a Hakimi in there, so maybe look to find one.

In midfield I think Hojberg should thrive under him and Lo Celso has shown for Argentina and Betis he can do what Barella did at Inter. No idea if Conte will murder N'Dombele or turn him into a top player.

Son and Kane as a pairing has been successful and this appointment may get Kane to give a crap again unless his legs are just gone.

Seems like a bad fit for the newly arrived Gil, Bergwijn or Lucas, so maybe 1 or 2 of them move on to raise some funds for the LCB, #8/6 (depending on where he wants Hojberg, who Mourinho liked as a 6 but excelled as an 8 for the Danes this past summer) and probably a wingback, maybe a backup forward who's a bit more conventional of a striker but they needed one of those anyways.

4 signings in and say Bergwijn, Davies and Dele Alli out would raise some money I think since the latter 2 are under 30 and have had multiple good Prem seasons and international careers and probably have admirers in the mid to lower table teams.

Might we see the long awaited return of @GlastonSpurs soon?

Yes, we’ll just stick our heads in the sand and everything will be fine.

Such a poor career choice. He has a team whose talisman is on the wane and one that needs a fee years of big investment to even contemplate winning anything of note. And that's not happening because they're Spurs. Not sure if his goal is to get them into the CL this/next year and that's it because his level as a manager is far above Spurs as a football club.

He's a fantastic manager but I don't really see what he can achieve at Spurs.

I think he was clearly waiting for either the United job or something similar, and something has happened in the last week that’s put the nail in that coffin. Either we’ve flat out passed up on him or our indecisiveness has pissed him off. He wasn’t interested in this same job just 4 months ago.

He clearly has been given promises about the January and Summer of '22 transfer windows. Also, he obviously believes he can get in the top four with Son, Kane and co, secure the CL spot and build from there.

He's not the type to throw himself into a scenario that's ill-fated.

Yeah but I thought as someone who wins wherever he goes he would have waited for a bigger job to open up. Even if Spurs' buy next summer they are far behind us in terms of quality and it'll be very hard to bridge that. Maybe he's overestimating that squad or his abilities as I wouldn't fancy any manager elevating Spurs to proper heights.

Another team with a better manager than us. Great.
I've pretty much accepted it now. It almost feels like self harm.

Tuchel's out there - Yeah but there are no top managers out there so we stick with Ole
Conte"s out there - Yeab but there are no top managers out there so we stick stick Ole

I'm not sure he'll achieve much there. Would've worried me more seeing him go to United.

The usual hearsay/second guessing from poor and mostly tabloid journalists that United was in contact with Conte.

As for Conte at Spurs is a similar appointment as Jose and expectations will be high that he can deliver a trophy for Levy.

It’s a temporary job imho, and convenient for both parties. Pip United for 4th or win the FA Cup are enthralling / realistic targets, so early in the season. He may then walk out in June with his reputation polished further. If results will be less flattering, he would stay another year and aim higher, planning better from the training camp onwards.

Could be. A way to showcase his qualities in a short span of time to open up better jobs.
