Next candidate for ignore function methinks.
You completely missed the point, what I mean by "surreal moral standar" is to think a person is racist because of this incident. The world is not as black or white as the european or angloxason moral standars try to make it seem. Suarez is not defined as a racist person because of this issue.
The other point about "If he didn't want to be judged by moral standards of other countries he should've stayed in Uruguay" has a lot of cultural and political implications, Suarez goes to the money goes, Europe is richer than South America in result of a huge colonization and capitalistic history, I have a strong formed opinion about it but I don't think this is the place to discuss it, just think twice about the implication it has to make a claim like that.
Phil Duck said:Well, I'm going to be honest, I have a very formed opinion on Ronaldo and why he's not on the list of the best players ever, but the mod ask me to go slow and this is just my first day as a full member, so I'm going to keep that to myself.
Either Phil Duck is a WUM, or he just has a inflated sense of himself and wants to be recognized.
I noticed that in two separate threads he has come out with the same nonsense, about having a particular opinion that it is not safe to share. First in this thread:
And also in the Ronaldo thread (where, no surprise, he has a strong dislike of Ronaldo):
I guess formed opinions are basically prejudices - in the Evra instance he has formed his opinion without bothering to listen to any of the evidence that was gathered by an independent panel - with the excuse is that he doesn't trust the FA (but is happy to trust the words of a self-serving, proven liar in Suarez...).
Didn't he also pinch Evra's arm and kept calling him 'blackie', I really can't comprehend how that can be justified even the famed 'cultural' misunderstanding excuse.
I don't think Suarez is a racist and i don't know the guy personally so can't really comment whether if he is a great guy or not. But one thing for sure he is a total scumbag as a sportsman the evidence is clearly there with all the highly controversial incidents he's been involved in. If it was just a cultural thing why don't we see Diego Forlan or Edinson Cavani behaving the same way? they are from the same country and culture as Suarez. If anything he's a deeply troubled man and wouldn't be surprised if he had some sort of mental condition.
‘I had every intention of shaking Evra’s hand in the team line-up before the match. I had spoken to my wife about it before the game and said that I would. As I was walking down the line, Evra was shaking everybody’s hand, but he lowered his hand when I reached him. He shook Jordan Henderson’s hand before me, and his hand moved downwards, away from mine. The images are there for everyone to see. My hand stayed outstretched at the same level but once he’d lowered his, I thought: “Okay, he’s not going shake my hand,” and I continued along the line. Once I had passed him he started with the show of grabbing my arm and protesting that I hadn’t shaken his hand. And he looked towards Sir Alex Ferguson to see if Daddy was watching. If it was a trap, I fell into it.’
Remember kids, never call black man a racial slur, there might be a Manchester United trap nearby.
