Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather | Again?

Connor once said he wasn't here to take part, he was here to take over. He looked very happy to have taken part during that interview. Happy to be here and double his net worth in one night.

Maybe its the accent but his excuses reminded me of Roy Keane. Everyone was crap in our team according to him when in reality he was the one who was walking on the pitch.

Floyd was only up by 2 rounds or so when he KO'd him. Not exactly a massive mismatch

Conor won 3 rounds, maybe 4 rounds. Three of those rounds, the first 3, Floyd wasn't even fighting. Floyd only started towards the end of the 4th. So yea, it was close in that Conor won rounds when Floyd was standing in front of him and not throwing lol.

Feck sake!
Why didn't the ref let Floyd smack him to the ground?
That's what i was staying up for... Wanted to see the cnut lying there with his face teared open.

I hate how Cnuty McCnutface always is so humble and friendly after a fight he loses, after being the biggest dick on the planet in the building up for the fights.
I think he's just acting like that to make it a little more interesting, like Northug. With such a few matches during a year they really have to make the most out of everything else.

I bet Carl Froch was disappointed by the birth of his kids because he wasn't involved. The man finds no joy in anything other than himself. Couldn't even find complimentary words for a boxing novice to land shots on the best boxer of this generation.

As there was argument over who won the 4th it's safe to say from the 5th round, this fight went exactly how every boxing fan thought it would.

Shouldn't be classified as a pro boxing match though. Fair play to both guys all the same.

So how much we going to read about how well McGregor did to last to round 10??

The length of the fight doesn't determine how well he has done, especially against a defensive boxer like Mayweather.. It was over from round 4.

A pretty awful strategy if you ask me. Let the other guy gas and then start fighting.

A lot. Because both sports feel the need to defend the fact this nonsense happened.

This.

Floyd scouted for 2 rounds and then outclassed, outboxed and out thought him. Fair play to McGregor for getting in there but he had no right to share a ring with Mayweather and it showed.

Always humble? He spent the entire build-up promising to knock out the greatest boxer of this generation in 2 rounds.

The man's a greedy, shameless prick and an embarrassment to your country tbh.
After the fight I said, after.

McGregor knew he could take this fight, make a fortune and maintain his position in the UFC - worst possible scenario was he became a meme. I don't know what's to criticise when it's exactly what we expected.

Outcome was the best he could've expected really.

Bellew summed it up quite well.

This is quite a useful demonstration of what professional skill looks like when put up against rank amateur. Give them age and size advantage and the the novice will still look out of his depth. That level of skill is something you can't always appreciate when two pros go at it.

Make it a 6 rounds fight and Floyd would win all 6.

It's clear that Mayweather had no intention of making this obviously one sided from the start. The whole machine wanted a charade of a spectacle.

That was actually fun for once. Boxing is a fecking awful spectator sport but get someone who isn't a traditional boxer in there and they actually start fighting each other instead of pawing at each others gloves and cuddling each other.

I fecking hate McGregor but fair fecks to him he did well and certainly surprised me. I'm not sure whether I buy Mayweather just letting him do his work in the first few rounds but it wouldn't surprise me. Being cynical you'd say Mayweather probably could've had him on his arse in 10 seconds but played the match out for the propaganda and spectacle.

Like McGregor said though, why not just let them continue the damn fight until he's out on the floor. If nothing else he deserves it for being a gigantic bellend.

I remember Lille did that to United years ago under Fergie. Think it ended 1-0 to them in france. They played tight while saving energy and towards the end they started attacking when United was tired.

Mcgregor is being disrespectful with this imo - the ref stopped it to protect him, and Floyd was hurting and wobbling him.

As the interview goes on he sounds bitter.

Glad he lost.

No he wasn't be disrespectful at all mate, he was very respectful. The ref may have been protecting him but he was knackered and wobbling from being tired, he never really looked hurt all fight IMO, despite taking a fair few shots. Mayweather just ain't got the power in these years of his career, hence why he's never properly KO'd anyone since Ricky.

Usually in USA they let the fighter take some real pain and go down a few times before stoppage, in the UK they are more known for early stoppage in boxing, IE Froch Grove 1.

Like the result was ever in doubt. Mayweather coasted for a few rounds to avoid making this scam get exposed. Give him a bonus to double his purse money if he wins in the first round and we would actually have something worth watching instead of this.

Floyd was never in trouble. He toyed with McGregor, waited for him to tire himself out and then finished it in the tenth, though it could've been sooner.

The biggest victory was how they conned the gullible public into thinking this was going to be in any way competitive and parting them with their money.

McGregors and Keanes accents couldn't be anymore.different. Chalk & Cheese.

Belt away back to the football forums with your anti Keane shite.

Good lad.
