Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather | Again?

Floyd was only up by 2 rounds or so when he KO'd him. Not exactly a massive mismatch
What? Mayweather won 8 rounds in a row.

The fight went exactly like Mayweather would've planned it.

Does Steve Bunce have some kind of beef with Floyd...? Why are they slating him on BBC and still now praising the guy who just lost?

It's almost patronizing to Mcgregor. He lost, and was toyed with for the last 3 rounds by a 40 year old who's NEVER been a KO merchant.
And who has been retired for a couple of years.

One of the top fighters would have destroyed McGregor by the 5th or 6th round.

Still... they both got their money (not from me though lol )

He was genuinely doing alright in the early stages. Even in later rounds got in some decent punches.
I'm no expert on this sport but he didn't seem to do any damage in the first few rounds and looked shattered by them and thus very easy to completely wear down.

The whole "respect" angle after weeks of slagging pisses me off.

McGregor has gassed in UFC fights early enough and those fighters are nowhere near the class of Mayweather, nor are they fighting him in a sport in which he doesn't specialise. You could stage slowing down but he was clearly blowing, that wasn't staged that was him having run out of steam. The referee had to step in, he was offering nothing back and it was going to get dangerous. McGregor's reputation will rightly be enhanced, even if he offered very little, because he stuck in there for so long and Mayweather now has a lot of money to blow again.
Yea, I guess. I should have watch more boxing matches. I am surprised how quickly Connor got gassed. Still seems strange to me. The work he did in the boxing ring did not look as tiring as the work done in mma ring.

He had Mayweather a little bit rattled and forced him into a more attacking style. Don't think he was ever truly likely to knock him out, but he was performing fairly well. If it'd been that mismatched Mayweather would've just ended it in the first round.

Always humble? He spent the entire build-up promising to knock out the greatest boxer of this generation in 2 rounds.

The man's a greedy, shameless prick and an embarrassment to your country tbh.

Exactly this, McGregor landed ONE good shot the whole fight and that was the uppercut, and even that had no power behind it.

Mayweather sized him up from the get go and then took advantage of that.

It wasn't so obvious given half the people here thought McGregor had a good chance.
To be fair, that could say as much about the knowledge of people on here as it does about the probable results of this fight.

The only people who believed that were fecking deluded. McGregor realistically had about a 1 or 2% chance (his odds with the bookies were so low because of his fanbase) but the obvious assessment was always that McGregor would come out swinging for a couple of rounds (he didn't really do that even) but that his fitness would go and Mayweather would wear him down and finish him eventually (I thought it would 7th or 8th so McGregor did better than I anticipated).

you must know him well.

Don't think he rattled him I just think Mayweather saw that McGregor was never going to defend himself so why not go more attacking.

Deserved win for Mayweather and loved the aggressive way he finished the match with.

Yeap. Looked busy but didnt land anything clean. Floyd sized him up and took over from round 4 onwards.

McGregor is just not built for boxing, carries way more body fat hence tired early. Breathing through his mouth from around round 5 onwards.

I don't watch that much MMA or any boxing, but even I knew this would be easy for Floyd. He's one of the greatest of all time in the ring with an amateur!

Conor's cultists will consider that some kind of moral victory. Truth is he was hilariously bad.

McGregor's boxing power and technique...

No need for that mate.

I can't stand Mcgregor, but cmon, no need for that.

I didn't mean it literally though...
Just a proper KO.

Someone's jealous? McGregor was well beaten there, but he is always humble after a fight, win or lose.

Jealous?
I'm not a fighter, why would i be jealous?
I'm just tired of how he acts and talk before fights, it's annoying.
I don't even like Mayweather to be honest, but i like McGregor less.

It was routine Mayweather. McGregor won the first two rounds because Mayweather literally wasn't punching. Sizing up his opponent and went on to win the next 8. How anyone saw this as a close fight is beyond me.
