Conor is creative with it for the most part.
Floyd just uses it as an easy way to be the bad guy but it's all one note.
You can tell Mayweather practises his lines before these things, he said half of them 3 or 4 times.

Losing to Mayweather won't really have any impact on McGregor. Not enough people are buying into this as a contest for the result to hurt him. He'd just go back to his actual sport and keep doing what he did before.

Depending on how he loses, the allure could be gone. Rousey was the hottest female fighter in the world and would have probably had a big money match in the WWE but since she got knocked out nobody will touch her.
WWE might get a few extra viewers with a defeated McGreggor but it won't be significant.
If McGreggor does knock out Mayweather in 4 rounds then he will have offers left, right and centre. McGreggor in the WWE would be great, he's better on the mic than 90% of the roster.

WWE and Rousey love each other. She's literally been with them the last couple of days for a women's tournament. The only thing stopping Rousey getting in a WWE ring I imagine is her unwillingness to be booked to lose, and their unwillingness to let her go over one of their full-time stars.
When was was choked out by Diaz, he lost none of his allure. In fact it's mostly forgotten about.
McGregor really has nothing much to lose, he gets a huge pay day, and if he loses (and he probably will) he can claim he had the balls to go toes to toe with one of greatest boxers, when it's not his sport and he would beat Mayweather in the Octagon.
Be a good insult if there was even a chance Mayweather wold dare step in the Octagon.

I love Floyd. He's changed his public persona so well over the year. Used to be quite a funny character a few years back. Now he just solely relies on being hated for being rich. I respect the fact he genuinely doesn't care what anyone thinks. It's apparent it hurts Mcgregor that Mayweather is bigger and richer than him. He seemed genuinely annoyed Floyd wouldn't pay him any attention during the conference today.
