Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather | Again?

 Why is Floyd a "bad person" exactly?

Pretty sure he's been convicted on three different times for beating women? You really lose the right to object to being called a bad person at that point. He's a scumbag.

Was clearly a Mayweather ran event. McGregor just standing on stage while Mayweather gets a walk out. fecking speeches? And then they cut McGregor's mic when Mayweather was talking making him look like he'd nothing to say. Absolute bullshit

In fairness Mayweather never interrupted McGregor.

Mayweather also praised the fact the fight wouldn't happen with both men being such a draw. McGregor gave Floyd no credit whatsoever.

How on earth could Floyd really step into the octagon? He'd need years of training in mixed martial arts whilst McGregor has at worst a basic knowledge of boxing.

McGregor has actually boxed all his life. Competed in the Irish nationals as a kid.

The full details are a lot worse than what you hear generally reported.

And he still denies it all saying that there are 'no photographs of the crimes' so it can't be proven.
Fair enough, didn't realize all that.

lol, McGregor properly laying into him.

It was always going to be like that. Still, it's entertaining, as long as you have your eyes wide open to it.

There's clearly no animosity between these two and all their barking is manufactured for fight hype. As real as a WWE squabble.

Floyd was terrible. Thought Mcgregor was about to throw that money to the fans

Mayweather was laughing through McGregor's speech. Still, they're doing their best.

Schaub is an idiot. He just told the watching audience that Conor admitted he was faking this to hype the fight.
Honestly, he's brain dead.

Mayweather was loving it, all he sees is easy work and dollar signs, just let mcgregor talk.

it reminds me of the rock and stone cold from wrestling back in the day. Same concept anyway. Hero vs villain. Mayweather playing up to the villain. Usually, the villain wins tbh. Still some funny one liners from both parties. Who knew there were so many Irish people in the world. ;)

This is going to be an awful watch, isnt it? Either that or McGregor lands a punch and knocks him out... but realistically, he'll do well to touch floyd.

Where's all the "Mayweather schooled him" eejits now?

I don't get it. Mayweather is cringey as hell with his "Yeaaa, Yeaaaa, Yeaaa" "Hard Work, Hard Work, Hard Work" stuff. At least McGregor is more authentic.

I think the press conferences have suffered from the fighters not having Dana to separate them. In the UFC conferences it legit feels like the fighters would go at it if Dana wasn't in the way. Here we know both fighters aren't going to jeopardise the payday so when Mayweather took the Irish flag there was little McGregor could do about it.

I think all McGregor needs to do to school Mayweather is when Mayweather brings up his money say "You may have a higher gross income, but I have a higher income after tax" and "if I wanted to I could roundhouse kick your head into the last row"

To who? You?

McGregor is the antithesis of classy. I wouldn't be one to stereotype, but a study of McGregor's fanbase is the closest I've seen to a hive mentality with McGregor their Queen Bee. They lap up everything he tosses their way and is never, ever wrong about anything. Ever.

Quite peculiar to say the least.

This is entertainment a la old WWF. But if it's boxing you want, then you might wait til the 16th of September for Canelo vs GGG.

Won't stop millions and millions of people watching it. There's a morbid curiosity to this one that will attract people who wouldn't normally fork out for a PPV.

I die a little inside every time I read or watch McGregor these days. He jumped the shark a while back IMO. All I feel watching his pre-fight build up is hardcore cringe. I'm still compelled to watch him fight though. I think everyone is, love him or hate him. So, in a way, he's playing this all perfectly.

Oph, thats quite the the sweeping generalisation. Tell me more about this study?

It doesnt happen to involve scouring the youtube comments section for a few mins where the dregs live?

Sure he's got some idiot fans but doesn't everyone? Go on United's Facebook or YouTube pages and there's loads of idiots on there. Have you ever thought perhaps cos they're more popular and in the limelight that they get more attention and as a result so do their fans?

Look at his press conferences or his fights and to me it just seems like people enjoying themselves and having a good time. For some reason people oddly take offence to this and are quick to criticise and generalise a whole bunch of people for having a bit of fun. So what if they've got a hero or someone to look up to or whatever and enjoy his antics, let them do it. Maybe people have a different opinion to you and find his stuff entertaining? Maybe they don't take it all so seriously and just want to have a bit of a laugh at the press conference stuff and not over analyse it so will make general statements like "McGregor schooled him" or whatever. It's hardly some dead harmful offensive comment. These press conferences are almost pantomime so why not let the fans have a bit of fun with it as well and take sides.

That's where they're on to a winner and I'm sure Floyd is loving it to. Let McGregor get out there and do a load of talking which gets the people who love the build up on board (some will even think he can win cos of it) and they'll get more than enough numbers on the PPV buys. Equally people who are "dead against" the fight probably won't admit it but plenty of them will buy it as well I'm guessing out of morbid curiosity.

I still like McGregor and find is stuff funny, maybe it's a bit childish but I dunno it's just a bit of light relief and I suppose it is a throwback to the days I used to watch WWF and found that entertaining. I just think people take these press conferences way to seriously over analysing them every time, they're just a bit of a laugh. I'm curious as to why people criticise them as well? We all knew it would be like this, Dana White himself said it will be a "shit show" so why are people surprised now? It was streamed on YouTube, if you don't want to watch it then don't watch it...similar to the fight I think plenty of people will slag it off but I reckon plenty of them will pay for the eventual fight.
