Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather | Again?

I'd say McGregor will throw him over the top rope and smack Mayweather with the steel chair in the 5th round

Was clearly a Mayweather ran event. McGregor just standing on stage while Mayweather gets a walk out. fecking speeches? And then they cut McGregor's mic when Mayweather was talking making him look like he'd nothing to say. Absolute bullshit

There was no other way Floyd was going to win unless he set himself up comfortably like that

No idea why everyonr was saying Mayweather walked it. It was tame on all counts - little to no entertainment or shock value in any of it.

Because there was no substance to anything Conor said. He's got no real right to be there, fighting the greatest boxer of this era, other than 'celebrity value'. Mayweather doesn't need to shock, he just spoke the truth, and Conor just sat there looking a bit embarrassed.

Floyd didn't interrupt Conor though so its fair. Gave both an even playing field when it was their time to speak

When you cut to the chase, and strip away the bullshit Conor has got nothing of any weight to say. MMA , different story, but this is boxing.

What did people expect? Conor to walk into Mayweather's arena and intimidate him......

McGregor had the floor for as long as he wanted to say whatever he wanted. This opening conference will be an eye opener to him and a wake up call that he's not in there with somebody like an Eddie Alvarez, he's up against a completely different level that he's never been close to being up against and that's not even over hyping Mayweather.

This is just conference one too, McGregor has plenty of time in the coming days. Take this one on the chin, be better prepared and fire back tomorrow in the next conference. No need for excuses anytime McGregor comes off worst in a press conference.

Even if you do think he got a bit shafted, nobody can fecking feel sorry for him. This is the dude that has taken the absolute piss at every UFC press conference like he owns the company, turning up late almost every single time, throwing objects and all sorts of shit. This is a completely different world.

Just seen the press conference fairly boring stuff, the format was fecked up half of it was singing/dancing and old guys droning on about shit no one wanted to hear. Also strange to have a press conference and take no questions from the press.

McGregors comments about the gloves stipulations must have touched a nerve with Floyd to make him start spouting nonsense about fighting in the octagon with mma gloves. As if he would ever agree to that, fecking hell if he's worried about horsehair and mexican gloves i'm surprised he didn't go all out and ask to wear a fecking head guard for the fight.

Anyone notice McGregor's suit?

THe press conference set up was pretty annoying as are most boxing press conferences from the US Format (Sky and Eddie Hearn in particular tend to do the more MMA format of the table set up) but there was a few good lines. It was definitely more of Floyd of old rather than the humble persona he has given in the last few years and whilst I always like McGregor it was good to see he seemed to genuinely be enjoying himself. Dana was hilarious to with his head nearly exploding introducing Conor.

I'm guessing it's all pretty set up for a grand finale "hold me back" kick off in the final London one, it doesn't really need it but I'm guessing the temptation would be to much for them all and they'll do it.

Watch Mayweather's last couple of press conferences in particular the Manny ones and he's completely different to what he was yesterday. I can't recall when it started but he definitely did calm down towards his last run of fights.

Watch that for the old Mayweather (some of which returned yesterday) and compare it to his more recent fights and he's nothing alike. He still spoke about money but he was nowhere near as arrogant and cocky as he was during the Pretty Boy era.

Would of been better if they didn't mute Connors mic, during Mayweather's bit. Or they at least let us hear the face off...

These speeches made it boring though, better if they had questions to riff off.

Did find it laughable that Mayweather suggests he would fight in the Octagon, and wouldn't care what gloves on... We all know he's one of fussiest fighters when it comes to his 'requirements'

To be fair to him, there's an interview with him after it where he admits to repeatedly contradicting himself, and essentially just says things to hype

"He looks good for a 7 figure fighter, he looks good for an 8 figure fighter, but mother fecker, im a 9 figure fighter"

Mcgregor can't really come back from that

It took switching "sport" but I think Conor managed to find a fight where he's not the worst person involved.

He must be contractually forbidden from mentioning the fact that mayweather is a convicted wife beater.

''They say Im not the fighter I was 10 years ago. I'm not the fighter I was 5 years ago, or 2 years ago.........but I still got enough to beat you''

I'd be shocked if Conor makes to the 5th round the man has no tank.

He'll be fine, 5minute rounds of MMA is significantly more demanding than 3 minutes of footwork and swinging punches.

The fight will end as soon as mayweather wants it to end, he'll be able to throw unanswered combos to the head at will and the referee will be forced to step in. TKO for mayweather round 1

Dana whites video blog episode 2 is up, you can actually hear what they were saying to each other during the stare down.

Has anyone seen Real Steel? This fight reminds of that movie - Zeus vs Atom - Floyd vs Mcgregor.
