Complete Mental Obliteration V2

There are only really personal answers, but the answer should follow some sort of rationality that we can all see the reasoning in. This is how we assess the mental state of the participants as we continue.

Hectic has provided a run down of his answer if you look back a little.

I don't think so. And if he was then it looks like he's been a bit busy today anyway

That's a better answer than any of the first one you provided. It's not about how you will live and beat the outbreak, but what you would do realistically when faced against something of this magnitude. After TB posts his answer I will post my own.

Hm

If I was to go first, there'd be no ramifications would there?

Ah, didnt see that AdZz. Do you mind forwarding the PM you got from Hectic by the way? I want to post my story in the new thread about zombie invasions :D

LastWolf - knew that would bite me, would have been awesome if the UK did have a desert though, would have been the complete example for geological diversity then - has got everything else.

Hectic runs the game, so I couldn't say for sure. I think it's turn-based. But if you write your idea up now and keep it safe, then there is no issue in that.

I'll do it now mate.

i've seen your idea burrow and i'm not sure it would have been enough for you to survive an attack from a gaggle of 5 mildly agitated mallard ducks, let alone a zombie apocalypse.

 In fairness, 5 mildly agigtated malards are quite a foe.

you need to drag them as far away from water as you can, it's their natural habitat, they're like the killer whale of water.

Wasnt Hectic supposed to post the "right answer" in regards to the first question by the way?

I'll post up my answer later when I'm at home, there is no rush for it. There is no right answer, but some more logical and safe ones than either candidate made.

Great question AdZz, contestants take your time with it. TB up first.

sorry guys
i am still going through my lappy problem

should get corrected at maximum by saturday

at present i'm online via cell something i dont like

but still will read the question
and will try to post the answer

once my lappy gets corrected and i'll be back to full function

Post your answer to this question by tomorrow morning, but preferably tonight, and then we can delay the next question until friday/saturday for you.

firstly
i'll check the direction using sun

obviously there would be sun since the question mentioned i can use the map to find village so there must be a way for me to check directions.

Now what i will do is
firstly i'll see the directon in which the destination village is
after that i'll draw the map on sand
case1: drawing map is easy

i will draw the entier map

case2: map is complex
i wont draw the entire map

just the directions which would lead me to the village
for example north and then west i'll draw through arrows

i will keep the length of arrrows for direction proportional to the distance i'll have to move

if map has distances wriiten over it then i may well right that also with it

but main focus would be on drawing a directional map or simple map(for first case)and learning it.

After that i'll use the cloth to prevent my knee from bleeding and prevent infection

after every 100 metre i'll draw the map on the sand again
and hence i'll keep moving towards the village and will reach there ultimately

TheBest, i think you answer to this question was done in a lot of hurry maybe due to you not having your laptop and stuff. But there's a lot of stuff that you could have added if you gave it some more thought. Anyway all the best.

lets see what other think

i think its quite good though

TheBestest story ever told blablabla..

How would you know where you are compared to the village? How would you know which direction to go? Will you remember the map even after walking for 20 hours in the blistering sun / chilling cold? Will you walk every single hour of the day? How will you protect yourself from wildlife when you sleep?

did you even read my story?
You always come with questions i dont even understand

My thought is that after a good number of hours in the sun, even in that short 100 meter walk you might start to have trouble accurately recreated the map in the sand. This will mean either running the risk of the map getting all messed up at some point in your journey and therefore sending you off course. Or that you spend alot of time moving back and forth between map points lenghtening your journey resulting in you running out of water leading to your death.

When you also figure in the way the human mind sometimes works, you might find that the little differences that begin to creep in everytime you recreat the map in the sand (assuming you don'tkeep running back and forth checking accuracy) could put you way off course.

Yes, I read your story. Which is why am I questioning it :wenger:

Ok, lets start with the first question then (which technically is two questions):

1. How would you know where you are compared to the village? How would you know which direction to go?

You wake up, naked and bruised. You got a map, but can you see a "YOU ARE HERE"-mark on the map? No. So how would you know if you are going to go north, west, south or east?

2. Will you remember the map even after walking for 20 hours in the blistering sun / chilling cold?

You say you will draw the map after walking 100m every time. How will you remember the map? One mistake and you are lost forever. Do you believe that you are able to memorize the map, even after you've been walking in the heat for many hours?

3. Will you walk every single hour of the day?

You have to rest at some point. Where would you stop? When will you stop? You are not able to walk the entire time until you get there.

4. How will you protect yourself from wildlife when you sleep?

When you go to sleep, you risk either getting caught in a sandstorm or being attacked by animals. And how are you able to remember the map when you wake up?

i think i'm inteligent enough to remember one map

atleast for 100 metre i am and after drawing the map 2 or 3 times ,map would actually be permanently stored in my brain.
Although i'll still keep drawing it

Still the human mind is not necessarily the steel trap we would all like it to be, I think you are over-estimating your ability to totally recall the map perfectly under hostile conditions.

1. Well i can check direction through sun so there's no problem with that

About where am i in the map
i guess its fair to suppose i would know where am i at present since the question said i can use the map drawn to get to the village

2.no i wont firstly because i'm not that thick plus after drawing 2 times or 3 times there's no way that i would still make mistake plus i'll keep on drawing the maps.

3.i'll stop at night after drawing a map. Plus during day time only on my checkpoints or if i find some kind of shelter like tent

4. I dont know what kind of wild life would be there in dessert

i'm fairly sure i'm not specially after drawing or writing a thing ,i never forget it
