Complete Mental Obliteration V2

Obviously not my decision but I think it should just be between TB and Liam to duke it out and then we'll comment after round 2, do you want to say anything about Liams answer TB?

I'd like to know what both Liam and TB their stances are on that question aswell.

Would you rather send an innocent man to jail or let a mass murderer free?

Cos maybe they have different opinions about this and like this the debate would be more genuine.

To be honest, it really goes against so much of what I believe in, imagine if that was me, Shawshank Redemption II, I'd lose my mind, I'd absolutely go insane, but it might just be marginally better than letting a mass murderer roam free. Tough question really.

So you would choose to send an innocent man to jail, right?

What's your opinion TB?

It's definitely not marginally better and nor would you think that if it happened

Strange question actually, cos if you sent the innocent man to jail, it implies that the murderer has gone free anyway. So it's hardly applicable.

But if you clearly feel that strongly, there was nothing I could do to argue against it, there was no point having the question.

Getting rather tired of this thread.

No it doesn't. Nowhere in the question does it imply that at all. Point me to the point where it says as a result of the innocent man going to jail, the mass murderer goes free.

What you should have noticed Liam, was that I didn't reply to your answer with that response at all. I quoted a post which portrayed a scenario where you were in jail and were content with it, in the view that it is better than the mass murderer going free. Now there is a big distinction between sending an innocent man to jail, and being sent to jail yourself, and if the latter were to happen, you would not have the same view, nor would you consider it better in any sense at all.

Hectic, to be fair to Liam a scenario where an innocent man goes to prison is unimaginable. Remember, they just have to really believe that they are innocent and the cops will believe him.

No Liam, it's just two options you have to choose from, the one's not related to the other.

No. I know it isn't better in that case. I said that, I actually said I'd be inconsolable. But looking from the outside, and having to argue the case, I can say it's better.

Equally, as I've said I wouldn't find it better. What do you want me to say? TB's argument is better than mine?

When I said it might be better, I mean it'd be better if the innocent man went to jail, obviously I'd change my mind if it was me.

No Liam, it's just two options you have to choose from, the one's not related to the other.

Yeah and when they have been before, and it's been funny, I've found it hilarious, but this time it's just like I was given the wrong answer, and had to argue its case.

As I've said, I know they're not related in the question, I know the question didn't actually imply that.

I didn't say the question implied it, I said that the situation implied it. If the innocent man has gone to jail, the mass murderer must also have gone free.

Sorry to back track but can we just take a step back for a moment and analyse just what happened in Saturdays retarded twist?

Hectic gave this twist the green light so it is now a valid part of the competition.

TB asked a riddle, Liam seemed to struggle to answer it, despite having several attempts. He kind of got there eventually but it took a while.

Liam then asked a fairly complicated looking maths question that he claimed to know the answer to, and no doubt assumed that TB would struggle with it.

Despite Liam being told to provide a different question TB still answered the maths question and it appears that he answered it correctly, although Liam quite casually brushed it aside when pushed by TB to tell him if he was correct or not.

Speaking of curriculum, my question:

2x^3+3x^2-29x-60/(x+2). Find its remainder.

He asked me a riddle? I'm asking him something that's fairly useful. That' he'll struggle with, and that I know.

-6 answer?

Oh that, either 6 or -6, can't remember. Anyway, hurry up.

Then we get Liams 'proper' question:

Right, TB, you are trapped in the one of the twin towers, a plane has just flown into it. You're faced with two options: Try and go down to the bottom of the building and leave essentially unscathed, running the risk of dying a slow and ultimately painful death. Or do you take a leap out of the window, ruling out any chance of surviving, but not actually going out in a painful manner.

So it's a straight up choice, attempt to 'go down to the bottom' but risk the chance of getting stuck and dying a 'slow and painful' death, or, just admit defeat and throw yourself out of a window, guaranteeing death.

Ah, well, that was wrong. As said in the question, you are trapped in there. You didn't specify how you would go about getting yourself 'un'trapped, but you'd just 'go down.' But like you said, just a bit of fun.

The Best gave his answer, he would try and get down to the bottom as he wouldn't have it in himself to just be able to jump out of a window.

Liam, you then seem to say that TBs answer is wrong because he doesn't go into detail of how he would 'untrap' himself. Yet, your question was just which option would you chose, the question didn't ask for details in to how he would go about it.

I think TB stormed the 'Random Retarded Twist' round.

Thanks OJKernow
Don't know whether i should be happy for winning 'Random Retarded Twist' round or sad.
As both ways it is retarded

I don't understand why you'd ask TB a maths question, he's a computer programmer isn't he? It's like him asking you to write an article for tonight's game.

If you want to be pedantic (Or dick-swinging as brewlio calls it) you forgot the brackets on the numerator, so there isn't a remainder. You got your own question wrong Liam.

That was 8th grade question anyway i guess.
Although i gave the answer supposing brackets were there. And laims answer means i was right in doing so

Well OJ, I was hoping he'd go with the you down option, as he'd have to specify how to go about somehow freeing himself, he ignored the fact that he was trapped. Chances are he'd die anyway, yet he wen about that as painfully as possible, besides, I didnt think this was a proper round; like TB said, just for a bit of fun.

And Hectic, don't start this quickfire round now that you assume I'm online, won't be on properly for a while.

No I won't do it till later or tomorrow, I'll let you guys know well in advance as it needs to be convenient for both of you.

You wont be here for CMOv3, Damien! Might aswell get it off your chest

It's quite long and has questions in itself. Would certainly make them think (I hope), but there's no point. Would have been better if I had thought of it 3 or 4 days earlier when the questions were still being asked. The competition seems it's near an end anyway so may as well end with the quickfire one.

If I am promoted before CMOv3 starts, I'll pm the question to Hectic.

Bit late to say this now but I've finally thought of a question. It's a crap question but a question nonetheless. Will say what it is in CMOv3

 Didn't take long did it? :p I think the quickfire round should be enjoyable, culminating in a splurge of ridiculous answers!!

That's the spirit, and yes there are many point up for grabs, plus the final question will be worth multiple points anyway.

No.....Where did you get that from?

If it was 8-0, then the last question wouldn't be worth anything.

I'd just like to add that no. He is not a computer programmer.

He is a genius scientist on or above the level of Albert Einstein and he is currently working for the US government on a top secret mission in Antarctica from when they recruited him off the street for 'looking smart'.

Also anyone who has a question for the quick-fire round, just PM it to me. Don't worry about making a great question or not, we contestants will make it worthwhile.

Take your time boys
I hope you ask this question after next week
Since then i'll be free for atleast 1 week

Damien's questions are unbelievable. Quick-Fire round won't be held in a short space of time anymore, it's not feasible, however we will keep the same premise, there will be multiple questions asked one after another. Contestants will be asked to answer as soon as possible for them, but there won't be a limit enforced by punishment.

No, it won't be that long TB, I think by that time we will be approaching the finale, which will be ideal if it means you will be free from then on.
