Can't wait for Meek's response, it'll be fire and he usually doesn't waste time, then Drake would have to respond.
Same Jay that released Takeover,Supaugly and BP2 ? same Jay that sent freeway to battle Cass and Beanie to battle Jada?, same Jay that went at Dipset? and Wayne on tracks and called out Drake by name recently? ok.
When you come out of a major beef (top 5 all time) with Nas,there's really no point responding to slight jabs by lesser artists (which he did anyway) the man was ontop of the rap game in his 30s and heading corporate so of course his moves became unorthodox, rappers have been throwing subliminals since the early 90s it's nothing new, you have to earn a diss record in the rap game, every rapper with studio time in the 00s came at Jay what was he supposed to do? respond to everyone? 50 built his career on beef it was the only way he could get attention and stay hot, 50 dissed everyone even Nas,50 actually kept the competitive nature of the rap game alive from 03-07.
The game has changed, Hip Hop is no longer territorial, no one is repping BK or Queens anymore the only thing people rep nowadays is $$$, rappers aren't shooters anymore so confrontations have also been reduced, and the internet has made it possible for people to communicate without travelling thousands of miles.
Rappers are all cool with each other, NBA players,NFL players, heck even the street gangs aren't as tough anymore and the Mafia isn't as powerful as it used to be, get with the times.
This wasn't even a diss record.
Drake's probably already got another one lined up. He's baiting Meek.
I have a feeling he will have something more substantial for him on Views From the 6.
Yes that very same Jay. He only picked on Nas after Nas was past his peak, didn't say shit prior, same with Mobb Deep. Jay's always been very selective you see. 'Sorry Mr Drizzy for so much art talk,' wow what a call out. Did he go at Wayne, was that the slick 'y'all ain't got my lady money' line? What the hell does Freeway and Beanie handling their beefs have to do with Jay, I'm sure they could handle the beef by themselves.
50 did not build his career on beef, that is a lie, at his peak he was the best songwriter in rap. In Da Club was on the same album as Back Down, but by persistently beefing 50 didn't actually keep competitive spirit alive instead he just trivialised the whole process.
I must have missed that. And 50's first big break was How to Rob which was a song where he dissed basically every rapper. That led to Jay-z taking a shot on Vol 3.
You missed In Da Club?? 50 Cent's hook game from 2003-2005?? Big break? Hardly, if anything it made the industry black ball him a bit, then he got shot and then well you know.
In Da Club was just like the typical club banger every rapper was making back then. Stand Up by Ludacris was probably better. And Kanye existed in 2003-2005 so 50 was not close to being the best songwriter in Hip Hop.

Revisionism is a beautiful thing, 50 came out the gate with In Da Club, 21 Questions, P.I.M.P whilst being a gritty street rapper which labels wouldn't touch, man he clean removed Ja Rule from the face of the Earth and Ja gave us hits on hits but when 50 went at him no one wanted to know him. No one was seeing 50 in 2003-05, not even 'Ye even if 'Ye is the better artist.
It was 2003 labels were still obsessed with gritty street rappers. DMX was still a thing back then. And it really was the same formula every rapper was expected to do at the time. You first release a club banger(In Da Club) than a song for the women(21 questions).
Which is why no one wanted to touch 50? It's one thing to have a formula and it's another thing to smash it out of the ballpark.
He was signed by Columbia Records. Nas wanted to bring him on tour and Destiny's Child had a song with him. Then his progress was stalled by him being shot. Eventually Eminem and Dr. Dre swooped in once Columbia dropped him. So it was not like major labels were ignoring him.
Jay and Nas were sending subliminals back in the late 90s waaaay before Takeover and Ether, he was also sending shots at Mobb Deep back in the 90s too waay before Summer Jam....go and listen.
Jay has always been selective ? Definitely wasn't selective when he dissed Joe Budden,Cam,Beans,Wayne,Birdman,Wayne again,Jim Jones etc I'm dying to know where you got selective from when he has been beefing with cats since he started rapping, he even dissed Mase in the 90s, Drake spoke about old rappers buying art and Hov responded what did you expect...a diss record ? You expect a diss record for every jab ? It was up to Drake to take the beef further since Hov called him out, that jab about his lady's money was actually about Birdman not Wayne.
You said Jay (and 50) helped eradicate the competitive nature of rap and I mentioned his role in Freeway and Cass' battle and Beans' battle with Jada as reminders that he was very much promoting the competitive side of rap when he wasn't active, refuting your claim.
50 started off with Nas as an affiliate ( almost member) of the firm, he was largely unsuccessful for the most part in the 90s so he decided to channel his street ego of being a bully and a trouble maker and make a career out of it, leading to the power of the dollar( a project) which had tracks like How to rob and Ghetto Quran which sparked controversy in the rap game as the former was a diss to rap artists in the game and the latter dry snitching on real street dudes giving him the much needed buzz ( also fueling his beef with Preme who had ties with Gotti of Murder Inc), a beef with Ja then ensued leading to him beefing with virtually everyone in the rap game.
During 50s reign he was the only thing popping out of NY and Hip Hop starting embracing the south more which ushered in the Jeezy,T.I and Weezy era ( the last breeds of the 90s) which signified the beginning of modern rap, less guns more auto tune, more strip club music, skinny jeans,FL studio etc those things along with the Internet and social media and the commercialisation of hip hop made beef less important.
I did 56 broads on a European tour and they was all crazy
56 Nights is so crazy, that last 5 song run is godly.
I think 56 Nights is my favorite of the 3 mixtapes.
