Mostly by yelling out what the personnel package is at the moment. If you’ve got 10 personnel on the field, that’s 1 RB and 0 TE. If you hear coaches yelling 12 and you’re one of the starting TEs, you know you’re rotating in and the 2 slot WR already know they’re coming off.

Also if you’re in the rotation it’s your job to be on the sideline following your position coach & watching the person you rotate with to see if they tap their helmet - that’s a universal “I need out” thing
Nice one, thanks for that

Huge plays by this Travis kid with an injured shoulder and hand.
Most physically & mentally mature QB in a decade since Winston.

For as much idiotic shit Winston did off the field at FSU, he was beyond his years in mental prowess on the field (maybe not so much his RS sophomore year but defo his RS freshman).

Worth mentioning in kicking and punting downs teams sub in their special teams packages.

Defenses react to what the situation and down are, and are afforded time to make a reaction change when the offense sub-in. Defenses will counter with a different package when offenses have multiple receivers, two TEs, etc.

Defenses have short yardage and goal-line packages which have evolved over the eras. Many years ago, these packages were more about size as most offenses tried to "punch it in" (run it) so defenses put size - extra DL-man, extra LB, moved the SS closer to the line in most scenarios, often appearing like 7-9 men in a box look - and offenses often added a blocking TE to stretch the OL wider and used a fullback to plow the designated gap for the runner (Daryl Johnston was amazing at this role). But the passing game and rule changes, plus the read-option influx, which has opened up these short yard downs and created more chess matches.

I have more random European questions too

When Deion Sanders was a player, how did he manage to play NFL and MLB? Do the schedules match up? Were his teams actually ok with him doing this?
He played for the different teams while he was in Atlanta which made it far easier.

A lot of helicopter rides & private jets also helped.

This is only a couple of bucks, but a great watch...

Might not be in your area.

It's an ESPN 30 for 30 show about how Deion played both football & baseball the same day (& the baseball game was a playoff game) & the background stories regarding that feat.

I think I am getting that right, it's been a.minute since I watched it.

He had to leave baseball and go to the NFL once football season started. There was one instance where he was playing for the Yankees and hit a home run, then flew to Atlanta and returned a punt for a TD. He was one of a kind.

Hahaha that's nuts.

All football has got to ban the QB push.

Technically it’s illegal, right?

I do agree though. Defenses can not push ball carrier’s backwards to gain an advantage and offensive players should be held to the same standard.

I had a free look on the QB for a sack once. I whiffed.

Had no more chances the remainder of the year.

He missed
