Wonder when we will start pulling our heads out of our asses & realize this isn't Duke of old, even with them being basically one dimensional?

What a choke job by Tennessee. OU and Texas also tried their best to lose.
It really was and to make matters worse the wife's from Alabama and I have to try pretend it's not a big deal and it doesn't really bother me.

Just finished up a 15 hour drive home from WI and saw the score. I think I’ll just drive 15 hours every Saturday to avoid the urge to watch USC. Better option really.

Has the NCAA ever acted swift enough to derail a team within the time frame it'd take ruin UM's chances this year? Meechigan were one of the hot picks to knock the SEC off their current perch.

Can’t think of one that didn’t take months to affect any impact.

fecking Gators.

At least we can rest assured that our annual tangle won't be difficult.

Alex Grinch should be banned from getting on the plane/bus back from Berkeley. Thank goodness I can’t watch this game because it’s on the PAC12 Network (where the 12 stands for the number of people in the US who actually have the network).

What an insane game that was for USC. I had money on them and think I aged a decade tonight

That's quite a scoreline considering it didn't go into OT.

The Grinch effect is real, and it is fabulous ( if you hate SC or love watching offense).

Couldn’t watch the game, but from what I have read it was the usual: bad tackling, stupid penalties, no discernible scheme, lack of toughness.

So who’s looking like they’ll make the playoffs currently? Back in august an article I read a lot of people were picking Georgia of course, then Alabama, Michigan, and one other. Clemson obviously a no, Ohio State?

Either Washington or Oregon I would wager. Washington is a certain if they go undefeated.

PAC champ and FSU are strong contenders, with the BigXII champ right behind as the last one in - quite possibly ahead of Bama depending on how things shake out.

FSU, we have an easy schedule to the ACC Championship & will be favored by anyone we play in it. One of Michigan or Ohio State will out of it.

We should be second if we win out, they might get third? But, there's the 'well, they only lost to the 2nd. / 3rd. ranked team in the land' argument for either UM or OSU to remain in the top 4.

I don’t know, I think Washington would have a case for 2. Would have defeated Oregon, Utah, USC ( ), OSU, and likely UCLA or SC () in the title game. That’s 3 top 20 wins. FSU’s best win would be a likely 3 loss LSU, right?

Perhaps. We still have Miami & UF upcoming, no clue how those two teams will be faring in late November.

There’s defo a case to be made when comparing the strength of the conferences.

MU/OSU loser is out again, barring a bunch of teams suddenly losing games late.

Can see Washington stumbling which knocks them out, but the remaining slate has 3 top 25 foes (as of today) plus Wash State - win those and it boosts their top four standing. Could see a rematch against a one-loss Oregon (possibly), a win surely securing a playoff spot if unbeaten. An Oregon win could see them rise by avenging their lone loss.

Same if Florida State lose a game which probably won't happen outside a Louisville/other upset in the ACC CG. If FSU lose a game they are toast, imo.

OU losing probably drops them a few spots to the 8-10 range and behind Texas. These two will likely meet again barring K-State/Iowa State upsetting Texas or Ok-State/BYU doing similar at home against OU. Assuming both have one loss entering the Big XII CG, a Texas win coupled with the Alabama win should put them ahead of all one loss teams, and possibly ahead of an undefeated Washington. Same would apply with an OU win now holding two defeats of Texas but probably nott enough to catapult past an unbeated FSU and Washington, they'll need both schools to drop games imo.

Tricky bit is a one-loss Alabama beating an unbeaten Georgia in the SEC CG. I doubt the rankings drop Georgia out of the top four, so someone gets fecked unless Alabama cannot leap to fourth/higher. SEC bias would work its voodoo again in this scenario.

Dabo got heated on his call in show. As a coach, I am wired to typically defend coaches when folks question their decisions, since they don’t know what all is happening. The caller probably shoulda stayed away from the money angle, since it isn’t gonna get you anywhere in an argument, but the other stuff he said is spot on. Not a good look by Dabo in my opinion.

Sounds like he's half way out the door with comments like that. Maybe an eventual Saban replacement ?

5 years ago, I’d have said 100%, he’s probably that guy. Now though? I don’t know.

Alabama certainly doesn’t have an issue with the transfer portal and NIL and they definitely aren’t going to bring him in to undo their policies on those two issues.

I think what you heard there was a prideful response from a guy who has basically never been criticized by his fans before in his time as head coach.

As an outsider, things seemed to go south since Vennebles left, which also seemed to coincide with Lawrence leaving. Dabo also whiffed big time on recruiting Uiagalelei imo.

I always said I’d rather lose Dabo than Venables. That said…

Our coaching staff isn’t an elite caliber coaching staff on offense anymore. Brandon Streeter was in no way a replacement for Jeff Scott and Tony Elliot at OC. The jury is out on Riley, as I think he’s somewhat handcuffed by bad recruiting and development from the last couple years, which leads massively to: former Clemson player Tyler Grisham replacing Jeff Scott as recruiting coordinator and WR coach. While he was a solid possession WR for Clemson, it’s very noticeable that we’ve gone from WRU to, well, not. CJ Spiller was an amazing RB for Clemson… I don’t think he’s an amazing RB coach. Thomas Austin was a good OL for Clemson… but he has definitely not filled the shoes of Robbie Caldwell as OL coach, and it shows.
(notice the trend in all these hires)

That DJU is looking like a completely different player at Oregon State is really something also.
