None of them are anywhere close to the all-time D1 record though... modern or pre-modern era.

And then the overall NCAA all-divisions record is an absurd number
Wasn’t there some DIII school in the NE that had the same coach for a bagillion years? I vote that one.

edit: nope, wrong coast.

All Time D1 Record: pre-modern is Notre Dame 1889-1932 (42 seasons), modern era is Florida State 1977-2017 (41 seasons)

All-Divisions Record: D3 Linfield College in Oregon (65 seasons and it is still active!)

Is Penn St up there for modern? I was thinking of the Bowden vs. RapeAbetter rivalry

But FSU vacated wins in 2006 so they're "record" comes with an asterisk. Nebraska has the non-sanctioned record.

That's fair.

Though Tom Osborne's Nebraska teams missed out on sanctions by the skin of their teeth a few times.

You wash your mouth! Tom Osborne is a saint!

@MrMarcello - get this... Nebraska was basically 9 points away from having 46 straight winning seasons.

They went 7-7 in 2002 after losing by 3 in their bowl game & went 5-6 in 2004 with a 4 point loss to Southern Miss.

They had winning seasons in 2003, 2005, and 2006 before going 5-7 in 2007.

 Walked by around lunch time, and then went to listen to Coach K, Adam Silver, Martin Dempsey, and Sarah Hirshland (US Olympic Committee CEO) talk about politics in international sports after work.

What on earth was that play calling on the last drive for Colorado

That was some weird shit at the end, self negative time wasting but things look bright for CU with good future recruiting

Alex Grinch ladies and gentlemen. Love or hate him, his defense never disappoints in making things interesting.

And here I thought United being 3 points from 7 consecutive league titles was impressive (it is)

Look up the Bowers' highlights if you didn't catch them...dios mio.

Not the physical specimen Pitts is - barely big enough to be an NFL TE - but he's just really, really good at football.

UGA don't strike me as the #1 team at this point. Oregon and UDub seem to be rising. USC are probably also in the convo.

Lane Kiffin might be a bit of a dick sometimes but his teams sure are fun to watch.

....and my Vols won.

Would have been a fun day if United weren't so bad. :(

They aren't getting anyone better.

Red River game today at noon, both Texas and Oklahoma undefeated. Great opportunity for Texas if they win this game to make the playoff
They would have a good chance to make it even if they lose the way things are shaping up, but yeah it gives insurance in case they drop a random game to a BigXII lightweight which is always possible.

The CCG looms large; seems like a year where these two could split the RRR & BigXII title wins again.

Incredibly bad play call by Maryland on that last down. 12 seconds left in the half and no timeouts left, either go for a shot to the end zone or just kick the field goal. You get the ball to start the second half, could go back up 2 scores. Instead they do a 3 yard pass into the middle of the field and the guy gets tackled and the clock runs out.

That was a stupid call.

Speaking of, I'm also tired of Ryan Day

Sark's brain... "Well, OU stuffed us twice inside the 1, let's try to do the same play again."

Gets stuffed again for a loss.

Then tries to spread the field on 4th down and comes up a couple inches short on a quick pass.

Should have spread the field on from 2nd down on, give the QB the read option to pass, draw, or run.

Update: Blatant facemask on that play missed by the officials.

Great. Now it's a real battle & we lose our 6' 7" wide out.

Just scored. Good response to the KO return for TD.

Been a long while, but I'm glad this iteration of FSU football is reaching decent heights.

Just hope we make something out of it this year & have a decade lull like we seem to do.

           Miami with the dumbest loss I've ever seen. Up 3 with 30ish seconds left and GT has no timeouts. Rather than kneeling to end the game, they run the ball and fumble. GT scores to win the game.
