College Football 2021/22

checking in on my grad school alma mater I think I just saw the most absurd QB stat line for a conference game:

Dylan Hopkins (UAB): 3/3, 141yds, 3TD

He was very good last year. Got off to a bit of a slow start this season, but seems to be playing well again today. Was a Heisman candidate coming in.

Speaking of qb’s and Carolina, any else love watching Grayson McCall play?

Supposedly high on SC’s target list for a next head coach.

Doubt he move in conference like that. Rarely happens unless there is a stop in between (like Kelly).

I am dreading a Helton like end to this season where Williams runs the table and gets the job. Nothing against him, he may be a baby Saban, but SC desperately needs someone with some cache right now.

A fade on 4th & goal to a not particularly large WR against a good DB probably wasn’t the best call in retrospect Auburn.

Dont follow college football but saw this on Twitter. Sensational.

Lyn-J Dixon is transferring out of Clemson.

Meanwhile, Fred Davis II is getting playing time after going 115 in a 55 and crippling a mail carrier.

That doesn’t sit right with me.

Had to look it up:

Fred Davis II has already begun his "internal discipline" for a traffic accident that left a U.S. Postal Service mail carrier with severe injuries, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said Friday.

Davis, a sophomore cornerback, caused the wreck after reaching what a Clemson police investigation deemed 115 mph in a 55-mph zone on July 21. His car struck the mail carrier vehicle at 70 mph on U.S. Highway 123, police determined. Davis was charged with and booked on misdemeanor reckless driving on Aug. 1.

"It's not something that's prolonged," Swinney said about the discipline. "He's had immediate consequences since this happened. His team discipline has already started and will continue today."

The mail carrier suffered a skull fracture, spinal injury, dislocated shoulder and hip injuries, according to The (Seneca) Journal.

Misdemeanor "charges" and "internal discipline"

Sounds about right for SEC country.

Could easily have been written this way...

Cartman: Wait a minute, why the hell does he get an A-?
Mr. Garrison: Eric, (insert name) just might lead our team to victory against the (insert SEC foe) for the first time in decades. And we treat star athletes better 'cause they're better people.

I think we might want to call in a health and safety check for @Carolina Red
Nah I’m good. I’ve watched worse Clemson teams than this. But hell, they didn’t deserve to win that game. Offense is back to looking like the Napier days. With just 214 yards and 18 minutes of possession, I dunno what they expect.

We might need to make that H&S call…
I said this back in the 2017/2018 season, and I stand by it. If the golden era ends this year, I’m glad I got to see it.

I was speaking to my wife and brother last night about the fact that we are getting to watch either A) the golden era of Clemson football or B) the era where Clemson establishes itself as a “traditional” elite program.

I’m pretty damn happy with either.

The student section at OU was a disgrace; they didn’t deserve to see a win today. Chanting the backup QB’s name in the 1st half (along with other stuff if what I’m being told is correct). I mean we fooled around back in the day but not like this.

That said, I am worried about this offense. We’re sorely missing Creed’s presence in the center of that OL.

Give them a break, they are just prepping for the SEC.

3 straight defensive holding penalties on Oregon St. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that.

What I wanna know is what the hell have y’all done with the iconic uniforms that you used to have? The one yesterday hurt to look at.

It was our alternates that we used for the first time at home for some reason, or maybe first time for a night game…one or the other.

There was a push to get these wicked all blacks as an alternate but they nixed it because Okie State uses black. Such a shame…

Michigan win today

I think both of the SEC underdogs in the big games will cover easily, I don’t know if one will win as I still don’t trust Arkie.

If we follow our SOP, OU will lose to KSU just because. Nailed on we lose at least one of the next two, the other being the RRR; it’s just how we do things.

Western Michigan
Georgia
Minnesota
Notre Dame
Ole Miss +14.5

My College Football bet this Saturday which usually ends in tears.

Still early days but I want to see how Georgia does against Alabama in the championship game. Georgia look really scary.

Michigan have gone under the radar but they're undefeated, feeling uneasy about November.
