College Football 2021/22

Considering Texas is coming into the SEC, likely in Arkansas’ division, and Arkansas is now 5-2 against Texas since 2000, you might be underestimating how much that win means to the Razorbacks

Fair point, I still see it as a small time celebration. It was not a win over Alabama or even LSU. Ten years from now when the rivalry is current and say Texas has won a handful or two handfuls in a row, alrighty then. Highly doubt Texas fans are tearing down the posts after a win over Arkansas. And if they're 5-2 in the past 21 years it should be seen as a normal day at the office.

not at all. He was always going to lose this game as Shaw owns his ass. Watch, SC will lose 1-2 more games before the ND game and he will be on the hottest of hot seats. He will then beat ND, win out, and get a good bowl game. Rinse/repeat.

I asked a coaching buddy of mine who is from Arkansas, is a Razorbacks fan, and who coached at Arkansas State why it means so much…

“Yes, Arkansas is very small, poor state compared to Texas. We don’t turn out the high school blue chippers, and when the Hogs are nationally ranked 60% of the roster are Texas kids. This was the first win over a top 15 ranked team, I think, in 5 years and the fact it was Texas makes it sweeter. In the glory days of the southwest conference the winner of the Texas Arkansas game won the conference and went to the cotton bowl. And Texans look down their noses at people from Arkansas, an example is when Jerry Jones bought the cowboys and hired Jimmy Johnson, the headlines of the Dallas Morning News the next day read, “The Clampets have taken over Dallas”. It’s the Rich vs Poor deal, 100 years of Arkansas people fighting for respect.”

Don't worry, he has one talent, and that talent is winning must win games. Not must win for titles or anything, that would be too simple. No, good old Clay "Milquetoast" Helton is a master at winning the games that ensure he stays hired. Asshole.

You were saying?

Will USC keep Williams if he produces a solid season or is this a job that will be offered to a big name?

Could they lure Patterson from TCU? Campbell from Iowa State? Other?

FECK TO THE NO!!!!

This is how we got into the stupid Helton situation. Fickell is also my bet as Bohn hired him when he was AD at Cincy.

Scuttlebutt has been Campbell didn’t entertain better offers (maybe even in the NFL) because he’s a born and bred Ohio guy and wants tOSU if Day makes the jump. Or another big job in that area. Lemme see if I can paste these odds correctly…
  • Luke Fickell +600
  • James Franklin +600
  • Chris Petersen +700
  • Bob Stoops +800
  • Matt Campbell +1000
  • PJ Fleck +1000
Edit: Petersen & Stoops are too high on the list. Bobby’s dad died from a heart attack when he was a coach and I think that’s a big reason Bob stepped away.

Upset alert in Bloomington. Cincy down 14-0 late in the 2nd. Both Indiana scores come off turnovers. Cincy has 4 punts and 2 turnovers.

LT gets burned for a sack, QB fumbles, LT tries to pick up the ball with one hand and run, loses possession, Indiana recover and two plays later score.

As a Dolphins fan I hear a lot of talk about the University of Miami. Diaz seems to be doing a poor job. Probably should have fast tracked Cristobal when they had the chance(s)

Diaz is terrible and half the fan base are want us to lose today because they think it will get him sacked. Everyone and their mother wants Cristobal to come back.

I know the U has history, but Cristobal may already be in a better job

Agreed. Plus Phil Knight (who bankrolls Oregon) will try to make sure Mario doesn't leave.

Good coach. Lots of people in the Miami media have raved about him since he was at FIU. I wondered when he would finally emerge as a big name

Yeah he's one of the best recruiters in the game, which is one of the reasons Oregon have been so much better lately.

When I commented about Diaz earlier Miami was 3 points down. That escalated quickly

things at SC keep getting uglier with Slovis out and true frosh in....who throws a pick. Going to be a loooooooong year.

If anyone in the UK is interested I have just realised that Sky are showing Notre Dame game. Not sure when they started to show college football

Oh that's interesting I thought they were all locked away on BT

I’m not sure who I want to win. I guess I should want Bama to win as I’m sure they will be in the playoffs anyway, but I do love me some chaos.
