A loan signing is strange for a club of United's stature, but Coentrão is an excellent player, and would have been a fine addition. To hear that this transfer has fallen through is predictable. Our transfer dealings this summer have been nothing short of disgraceful. Even if Real Madrid are the ones at fault for the deal falling through, it is still unacceptable that United would wait until the last possible moment to attempt to complete a signing. It's utter humiliation.
Just imagine, if we hadn't even been given a sniff of this there wouldn't be any more disappointment. It really has been a cruel window 
Oh yeah, total feck up in the end, just saying he was a better choice than the one we seemed to have been in for all too long(as much as I like Baines).
