Coentrao plots Man Utd move

Alba,Bernat,Gayá...Valencia is a good place to get a LB

SHAW IS THE FUTURE! Nobody said he would rule the world from day one. We have to be patient with young players like we were with big dave and look how right that decision was to stick with him!

Blind and Rojo are enough to cover and even Young did an acceptable job there.

While you are absolutely right that young players need a lot of time before really judging them, DDG showed more "impressive" signs in his first season than Shaw has so far and the fact that he was a key player for Atletico too.

Coentrao would be over indulgence. Shaw, with Blind and Rojo as backup are adequate.

All ignoring the point that at NONE of the top left backs in world football in the last decade were as poor at 20 as Shaw is.

Even compare him to Ashley Cole at 20, Leighton Baines at 20, Nathaniel Clyne at 20, Seamus Coleman at 20, and Shaw can't hold a candle to any of them.

I have no idea why everyone seems to think he's suddenly going to get a lot better from now on when all the other players who reached the required standard were much better than him at his age?

 Find a different hobby.

Well De Gea did not have injury issues his first season. And Luke Shaw was on the PFA Team of the Year before joining United.

If Coentrao wasn't so injury prone I've love him here, but as he is it's a definite non-starter. Without that one key issue he'd have ticked an awful lot of boxes though, IMO. I'm not convinced he'd be any use in centre mid but on either flank as a fullback or a winger he'd be a great option. At this point in time he'd be our best option in either fullback position and he'd be third choice after Di María and Mata on the wings (and if van Gaal wants balance - as seems to be the case with him playing Young there - Coentrao would be first choice in that role).

The train for Manchester United is passed 2 yrs ago, now it's too late

Blind, Shaw, Rojo, Young, Di Maria, Januzaj

Its hard for Shaw to look impressive when he is always on the treatment table.
