Isn't he a left-sided winger though? We're stocked there.
Greenwood type LW though? As in everyone expects his future to be at CF but he hasn't made that step yet.

That's just the Dutch, who normally pronounce 'G' as 'H' when it's the first letter of a name (Gaal, Gullit, etc). Gakpo is a Togolese name so the proper pronunciation is 'Gakpo' with the 'G' sound. Can any Dutchie tell us how to pronounce Gakpo because I just saw a video by Adam McKola who constantly called him Hakpo
Think he can play either LW/ST. Still young but has a good height might go down Cristiano/RvP route as wide forward transitioning into striker.Isn't he a left-sided winger though? We're stocked there.

Sancho/Antony will play on the right, we have then Martial/Rashford/Gakpo on the left and ST spot in a fluid front 3. Not too different to Neres/Tadic/Ziyech forward three that ETH had initially at Ajax.
Elanga is not ready for me apart from cups and occasional injury crisis, whilst if we get both Gakpo and Antony IMO Cristiano is good as gone.
That's not true. In Dutch a G is not proncounced as an H.That's just the Dutch, who normally pronounce 'G' as 'H' when it's the first letter of a name (Gaal, Gullit, etc). Gakpo is a Togolese name so the proper pronunciation is 'Gakpo' with the 'G' sound.
No we don't. We don't say Van Haal, we say Van Gaal. Same goes with Gullit. More likely it's the British who have trouble pronouncing the G who make it an HThat's just the Dutch, who normally pronounce 'G' as 'H' when it's the first letter of a name (Gaal, Gullit, etc). With 5 subs this season, having 5 or 6 options up front is a must!My guess is Gakpo would be replacing Ronaldo and we won't go for both if Ronaldo stays. Depth wise, if we get Antony, we'd have 6 players in the front 3 already without looking at young guys. Maybe Elanga out on loan and Ronaldo out with Gakpo in would make sense. Give a versatile group of 5 to play in any of the front 3 positions.

Gakpo is pronounced gak-po, not hak-po.
I think the British will end up saying something like hack-po instead of gak-po.
Yup. Basically need 2 starting 11s.With 5 subs this season, having 5 or 6 options up front is a must!
Gakpo will be signed as a future number 9. 6 foot 2 and scores plenty of poacher goals.
Well Rashford, a £60m+ rated player according to reports. But he obviously didn't use many more. Rashford was fortunate, but I'm sure if we were to give a player like garnacho a handful of starts in a row, he'd show his qualities I believe strongly in promoting young players and I think we have a great young crop coming through, having bought some of the best youngsters around Europe a few years ago.Yes. But how many of his youngsters are still round? None if I remember correctly.
Either he was a poor judge of talent or I think he was such a systems guy that only certain profiles of players could fit with his philosophy.
Yeah of course, there was luck involved. But it was kind of luck by design because van gaal wanted a smaller squad and pathway for youngsters.Rashford's break was lucky though, it's not the best example. He wasn't banging on the door, he wasn't even that highly rated at youth level. It was a right place right time sort of moment where everything fell his way and we were quite simply desperate. He took full advantage, which is the key thing all the kids need to do when that moment happens, Elanga kind of did the same, even if long term he's probably not good enough.
Of course the same sort of fate and moment may happen for Garnacho, we're pretty unlucky with injuries!
Switch Garnacho and Elanga roundSo I imagine the set-up would be:
LW: Sancho / Gakpo / Elanga
ST: Martial / Rashford
RW: Antony / Sancho / Garnacho
with players playing fluidly across the front three during games?
why not just sign an actual number 9 instead?
Like who?
And BT Sport for any UK users too.Gakpo vs Rangers is on Virgin Media Two tonight for anyone interested (might just be an Irish channel I can't remember)
I didn't think the result of tonight's match mattered but Whitwell said today that it could have an impact on the Gakpo deal so while I'd love to see him play out of his skin I think its for the best that he has a quiet one.And BT Sport for any UK users too.
Honestly I’m very excited at the prospect of both Antony and Gakpo at United.

I think its more that if PSV qualify it will probably cost us more or PSV wont need or want to sell.
Us waiting until after PSVs biggest game of the season to talk to them is just politeness/respectful on our behalf.
Hopes fading apparently.

I think he'll surprise a lot of people if we sign him. He's a versatile attacker and would provide what people were expecting from Nkunku.
Think the N is always sort of silent in a hard to pronounce for people of other languages way.How is Nkunku pronounced?
Yep, never made sense otherwiseWon’t be surprised if this is hinged around us moving Ronaldo on

We ended Morata because he cost 35m but want Gapko who's 40m? I'm quite sure it's either Gapko or Antony
Not really but that’s only because I think Ronaldo will stop us playing the pressing game we want to play so should only be a sub.Have we got enough depth without both
