If we could get Gakpo and Antony in and somehow fleece Ronaldo off to Chelsea, that would be perfect.
Every time ETH is asked a question about a player, he will always say he is in his plans. If he says anything different, he’s asking for trouble.Erik has said that Rashford is central to his plans so unless Erik has a bit of Ole in him I cannot see how we would be in for this guy.

He plays more like a centre forward from those videos than a wingerCertainly knows how to finish doesn't he? looks classy in this video that's for sure.

It’s reported that ETH would prefer to let Ronaldo go, but to the media ETH will always say he’s in his plans.
I would say that’s highly unlikely. Rashford has not performed as striker at all down the centre for a long long time. His days as a striker for Utd are done.
He’s been so poor as a striker that ETH even played Eriksen as a false striker on the opening day and kept Rashford out wide.
Has nothing to do with it. Ten Hag can love both Rashford and Sancho and still feel he needs Antony. You need 3 top wingers in your squad. Wingers need rotation, need a high quality sub, need competition for places etc and they all offer something different. Some positions it's fine to have a clear starter and backup who rarely gets subbed, but for the wings, you tend to sub one of them every game. So it's important to have 3 players on a similar level to rotate.Obviously wouldn’t be bidding 100m for Antony if this were true
Can a loss be a win?Gakpo/Antony/FdJ left to close out this window.
Either ETH is pulling some major levers on the Glazers or the Glazers are stuffing the turkey to dress it up. But either way, the initial, shocking two losses have been a blessing in disguise.
We lose to the scousers tonight and we will close those 3 deals más rápido.

I don't think anyone believes we can win tonight or even get a draw, we would do well not get humiliated like big scoreline. Our season will start once Transfer Window is closed and all new players are eligible to play even than it might take time for them to adopt to PL and ETH system.Gakpo/Antony/FdJ left to close out this window.

Yeah, the reactions from people who regularly watch the Eredivisie concern me. None of them seem to think any of them are that special. At least Gakpo seems reasonably priced, Antony fee is just bonkers.Generaly people in the Netherlands are laughing their ass off that we might be spending over 200 mil for 3 players from the Eredivisie who have everything to prove in a top 4 League.
And rightfully so. The fees for Martinez and Anthony are unreal, while Gakpo receives critisism for being average in the bigger matches.
I dont see how Gakpo is going to improve us directly. Rather see Garnacho getting time than splash a load of cash on a player that has shown good things in the Eredivisie but not much more.
I have not seen much of Gakpo, but I'm a bit surprised about Man Utd signing him. A right footed left winger?
And if I am not mistaken, both Bergwijn and Memphis was considered to be better and bigger talents?
I'd rather we buy this fella, reasonable and easy deal to be made compared to forcing Ajax into a sale and overpaying.
I was going of based on the reports who are always similar in the range of 35-45m. And Ajax is pulling our pants as long as we let them, I agree that PSV would be dumb to sell us Gakpo for half of what we are paying Ajax, ant that's the biggest issue with overpaying. Why would it be an easy deal? PSV is very aware that Ajax is pulling our pants down in the transfer negotiations.
Their star player Madueke is out for half a year so why would they easily sell of their other star player for a decent fee?
PSV is going to ask for 60 mil if I would have to take a guess.
Both Rashford and Ronaldo have a year left on their contract and we know one definitely doesn’t want to be here, and the other supposedly has been in talks with PSG. I think if/when we sign these two Dutch league lads, the club will acquiesce to letting one of those two go (more likely Ronaldo, though I still don’t see where he goes)Erik has said that Rashford is central to his plans so unless Erik has a bit of Ole in him I cannot see how we would be in for this guy.
Listening to Ajax fans, who make a good point, Gakpo plays in a different team set up to Antony.
PSV are more of a counter attacking team, where as Ajax, are more possession based. It is why a number of our players now don't look as good, because they were better suited to a counter attacking team, rather than a possession based.
So when comparing both Antony and Gakpo, you have to take this into consideration.

Highly possible I suppose and he has stated he wants more offensive options. Both Rashford and Ronaldo have a year left on their contract and we know one definitely doesn’t want to be here, and the other supposedly has been in talks with PSG. Left winger. The striker stuff is what armchair analysis fans want. Might happen, probably won’t.It makes sense
Antony is a right winger and Gakpo is now a number 9 right?
Oh really.Left winger. The striker stuff is what armchair analysis fans want. Might happen, probably won’t.
He also said the need to sign attackers was vital if we wanted success. And that’s without Ronaldo leaving. We need a minimum of 2 attackers. There’s an argument we need a 3rd if Ronaldo leaves.Erik has said that Rashford is central to his plans so unless Erik has a bit of Ole in him I cannot see how we would be in for this guy.
He could turn out to be a master stroke who knows . Didn't he win player of the year last year ? Hopefully he is a real findHorrible news to wake up to. This is just throwing money away. With that money we could have signed a bloody right back, a keeper, at least someone of bigger need. This is insanity.

Good point. Actually in his first pre-season with us Van Gaal started playing Memphis as a 10 which nobody understood. And after his poor start in the PL he did well in one game against Watford (?) around mid season playing up front, which seemed far more natural for him than dribbling from the wing.I have confidence that he can become a genuine world class striker. A modern CF, and I think we have to get him while we can. He’s no natural winger at all. He’s been compared to Memphis a lot in this thread, the same PSV fans who have been pointing out that Gakpo doesn’t play CF can also tell you Memphis didn’t either. Fact is, Memphis was clearly not a natural winger, despite him playing on the left.
