Television Cobra Kai

How big has sam got in this season?

Have to agree getting a bit repetitive and boring now.

Should be called Miyagi Do.

Why have you watched 30 episodes of something you hate?

Just finished season 5. It’s class.
This was my reason:
iu

Last episode was really good. I did not know it was going to have 3 parts though so was shocked at the way it ended without a conclusion.

Final Episode of part 2:

Well Kwon has to go down as the most stupid character. He picks up the knife and then doesnt even try to attack with it and then lands on it. They did him dirty there.

Also ridiculous to have a brawl in the most prestigious tournament without some crazy security that can obviously handle teenage Karate fighters, but I guess thats Cobra Kai logic. Still entertaining and I thought this was the end, so I'll be missing a lot of these characters when it does end.

Im glad we got some Kenny in these episodes

Only watched to episode 6.
Love how Cobra Kai and Miyagi Do with all their drama thought they were the main characters only to be swatted away like flies by a team that had been quietly going about it's own business.

Pretty sure that team will come to the fore in subsequent episodes.

Not trying to body shame, but I think the least they should do with Sam is have her use her extra weight in her fighting style. It would look a bit more realistic if she was leaning on and outmuscling the smaller girls like the Iron Dragons girl who is small and quick. Instead they keep having her do agility kicks. Could be better

One thing it has going for it is it's a very "bingeable" show!

I think that’s just her body type. They probably liked that when they cast her, made her look nonthreatening, not realizing she’d still be playing a 16 year-old when she was 28 (as she is).

That was a lot of fun. The five eps just flew by. The wait until February now. Ugh I hate this whole breaking up seasons into two or three parts. But I get why they do it.

It's all crazy but still a lot of fun.

Finished it. It was dialled up to the max the final episode.

Totally ridiculous but fun.

'Douche'

After the first 5 episodes and the Cobra Kai lot training I was expecting a homage to Best of the Best.

Having watched the latest episodes it was more a homage to Rocky.

Anyone notice that?

For some reason I also wasn't aware of a part 3, so was a bit shocked at the ending. Was good fun. Was disappointed with the distinct lack of....stingray though - although he is mentioned

Not sure where they go from there for another.....5 episodes or so, but probably a ton of introspection and kumbaya(s) to end it all.

About 3 episodes in and every single character apart from Johnny and Chozen are utterly unlikeable.

Just found out she has type 1 diabetes.

Could be wrong but some of the meds can bloat a person from what I was told??

Yeah a couple of times.

Yeah a couple of times.

There was the Carmen/Adrian in hospital and "win" bit. The running and celebrations at the top of the stairs. The main guy for the opposition being a Drago, the getting beats but getting up and winning.

Absolutely those meds can do a number on a person. She's still very cute, even if she is the Luke Shaw of the show. I never bought the athleticism of any of them on the show, as the martial arts aspect seemed to be the least important aspect. She was as believable in the earlier seasons as all those waifs pretending to be soccer champions on Yellowjackets.

Only watched episodes 1 and 2 but am finding the choreograhpy incredibly frustrating. Probably 5 times Miyago Do fighters have lost because they've been inexplicably distracted or stupid.

"I'm about to win, but I see Tory in the crowd, I've not seen her for 5 minutes so I'll just stop and stare at her whistfully" literally happened twice

"Oh my God, we bumped into each other, I'm so absolutely shocked I'll drop my guard, turn around and look even more shocked in the middle of an actual fight"

"Oh no, I accidentally knocked my teammate off the platform, I'll go stand right on the edge, hands on face like Kevin fecking McAllister and look down at them whilst my opponent can just kick me off with 0 difficulty"

Having Miyago Do lose makes sense, but in the ways above just feels crap, we're meant to believe "trained" fighters are so indisciplined? I know the whole show is unbelievable, they've got kids who have trained for months against kids who have probably trained for 15 years, but still, there would have been better ways. In the platform thing, just have them fight and get bested, have Robbie appear visibly tired from lack of sleep leading to him losing concentration in a more realistic way. Anything than this slapstick nonsense.

Still love it with all my heart though.

I get that completely
It happens way too often.
But strangely it doesn't affect my liking of the show - it sorta fits with the wackiness of the show.

Also chozen is great. Didn't like how they kinda just ended the kumiko story but chozen and Kim are great

Its cool to see Rayna there.

A superb real life martial artist.

I felt that the only good thing about the new episodes was that there were some genuinely good fighters there.

The ending was a massive letdown for me (I get that it is stupid fun, but this was way beyond stupid).

Just watched it. Still funny seeing the useless oafs of Miyagi Doe being presented as fighters against the likes of the Asian girl and Kwon, who actually look like they can fight.

Just checked it up, that Asian girl is an actual marital artist, I think I've seen her videos pop up on my insta feed a few times in the past.

Nice to see British actor Lewis Tan in the show, hopefully he gets more fight scenes.

They did my boy Hawk dirty though, once a champion and now a sideshow.

The ending was beyond stupid and mesmerising, but that's Cobra Kai in a nut shell.

Yeah the Zara character is a real life youtuber too so they just expanded on that.
