Television Cobra Kai

Just read they haven't been renewed yet and the writers haven't started writing season 6 so maybe it will be the end. Agree we didn't get the happy ending but it's pretty close.
Yeah, not being given the green light is a slight worry (for those of us who want more). I do believe that every other season was confirmed for renewal around the same time the current one was released.

From some post-release interviews, Ralph & William confirmed that they shot scenes during the filming of season 5 that have been left out with the aim of using them still. So, you'd assume that is for season 6 or a movie, potentially.

For what it's worth, I believe they'll still be more. It's also consistently in the top series on Netflix when its released and bumps the Karate Kid movies viewing up too. It will get enough viewership to be worthwhile, assuming what they have written is deemed strong enough to do the 'Karate Kid universe' justice.

For me, this whole thing is just a silly nostalgia trip and feels very 80's, because I think it is supposed to. Just my two cents on the show, but it's precisely why I like it. I have watched Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Sopranos, The Wire, Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon etc when I want a more 'serious' themed show.

I thought it stopped being nostalgic after a couple of seasons. Apparently they're working on a Ferris Bueller's Day Off TV show.

I can't imagine Netflix not renewing this. Must be much cheaper than other shows given it is almost entirely composed of washed up 80s stars and noob kids.

Looking like the 6th season will be the last. Probably for the best they finish on a high, rather than going on too long and getting stale.

Makes sense,agreed.
Wondering if they do a spin-off or anything to expand the universe like most projects do now.

Hopefully a lot of focus on Johnny this season

I absolutely love Cobra Kai and definitely want more but I kinda think it ended perfectly last series. A lot of the interpersonal drama between the kids has been resolved. Terry Silver was such a powerful antagonist and he had a strong Cobra Kai alongside him. Kreese feels like a weak villain now and him coming back is a retread. Most of the kids we care about are now firmly in the Johnny/Daniel(/Chozen) crew. I don't know how they are going to generate enough drama to make series 6 feel as meaty as previous series. I'm sure the world karate tournament will be a big focus, and that could be cool; kind of like Mighty Ducks 2 where they went to the Olympics.

Despite all this, there's been several times throughout the show where I've felt the writers have written themselves into a corner but they have skillfully gotten out of it and created more drama and intrigue as a result. Regardless, the characters are so fun that this will be an easy, enjoyable watch, as usual, but I'm sceptical over whether the storytelling will live up to previous series.

Agreed. Season 5 would have been the perfect ending. Especially if the twist with Kreese didn't happen.

I just hope they don't introduce unnecessary conflict between the characters now for the final season. All the differences have been resolved. Hopefully more Johnny too.

Daniel's wife is secretly an evil kung fu master setting up season 7

Was gonna try and wait until it's all out but I'm off to watch last season's finale and then drink some beers feck it.

The only thing worse than Kreese walking/flying around without any consequence is Netflix’s decision to split this season into 3 parts.

Damn, I thought it was 2. Yeah, crazy how they’ve gone from what was once sort of their differentiator of releasing everything at once, to now sporadically splitting some seasons up into parts. I’m sure there might be reasons for it but it still sucks. Also doesn’t help that my memory is crappy these days, so when the second parts usually drop, I’ve forgotten most of the first parts again.

Also your point about Kreese is spot on . I guess he’s overseas and not states side, where he’s wanted. Based on the first couple of episodes I’ve watched anyway.

I love this show so much. The plot and dialogue are so stupid but that’s part of the charm.

Watched all of this new season and it’s as good as ever. It’s nuts that not only are they splitting this in three parts but that part two is in bloody November!

I love that this show has been me and my kids comfort show, something that we watch together. The new season has been great, but I have a gripe with

The turn by Tory at the end. I mean why didn't anybody from Miyagi Do come to her house and try to comfort her? At the very least, Robby her fecking boyfriend.

It's the best show on TV, I absolutely adore it!

Rewatched it again (third time) in time for the latest season. Cannot wait for November!

it's great how they keep doing this thing where characters go on an evil arc for a season or so, then just snap out of it with a good kicking or talking to, and go back to being lovely and mates with everyone again

They could go with that two ways:

Either on her way home, Krees was waiting and told her, see, nobody cares for you like I did
Or
They were actually selfish, didnt turn up cos they were focused on the karate, their own shit, so she went off with Krees.
But if its the latter, agree with your point.

Good points.

I'm so buzzing for the next episodes. Shame for it finish but I've absolutely adored the show

Just finished the latest season. Really enjoyed it.

Hawk needs more love.

Also, absolutely no way this group can even come near that new Cobra Kai team. No fecking way, man

Its going to be Robbies moment now.
Although the new cobra kai team do look badass. Maybe cockiness beats them ha.

Yeah ive loved the show. |Thankfully theres also gonna be a movie next year.
Also im wondering if they somehow manage to get hilary swank in the final episodes to tie with Miyagis story.

One of my favourite shows. Recently started watching it again from the start and it's as good as ever. Can easily binge two seasons in a day, especially as I'm taking night shifts at work this month.

Oh yeah 100%. He came second twice and this will be him winning it. I reckon Tory will win the female one for Cobra Kai.

My main issue with the show is that some of the martial art sections are so bad that it's laughable. Sam in particular is bloody awful.

Thats the charm of it for me. Its like fights breaking out but it becomes martial arts and karate fights  Its great

Generally I find that fun too... until I see them prop Sam up as one of the best and I'm there thinking "this girl couldn't punch her way out of a paper bag, let alone win a tournament".

Imagine if Daniel was our manager

Rashford blasts a shot from 25 yards majorly wide

"This isn't the Fergie-doh way"

This getting too dragged on. Should have kept it neat and finished it on much earlier on

The actors dont know fights it gets painful to watch Daniel san choppy fight as if it's a car salesman commercial, they're fighting as if it's a B action movie in the 80s

Even the kids fought better than them

Enjoyed it but glad they are finishing it now. Would have perhaps been better without Daniel and his stupid kids in it as well. Johnny and the Miguel/Robby angle could have been really good.
