@Big Andy with a player in the top 5 performers in Division 1, some might say that's the closest the Bandicoots will come to such lofty heights :wenger:
 
So we lost three in a row, including the first leg of the playoff semi, at the worst possible time.

Bottlers. Lower league Arsenal.
 
Losing a play off final to get to the PL must be tough, losing it to Grimsby though....

Not quite the downward spiral scenario I had in mind, but I'll live!

Funny how I'm a pretty clear league winner but don't have anyone in the top-rated list and only one player in the top scorers list, at 13th.

The whole squad is very even, you had more than 15 players scoring goals.

Guttridge scored twice, unfortunately for @sebsheep one was in the wrong goal. Still they managed to beat @Vidyoyo after extra time and penalties. @sebsheep are going to Wembley!

Premier League 2009-10

Relegation Battle Last Day

Open the spoils in order if you want to follow all the excitement of the final day.

After 37 matches, 5 teams could still be relegated and this was the table before the final matchday:

16th @Stobzilla 38 (-21)
17th @The Cat 37 (-22)
---
18th @K Stand Knut 36 (-20)
19th @nimic 35 (-11)
20th Southampton 35 (-20)

@Stobzilla would face @The Cat, winner would be safe, loser would be in trouble.

However, @K Stand Knut was playing Arsenal and Southampton faced United, so difficult matches. @nimic was playing @sebsheep at home.

Even the GD was very close, with @nimic beating everyone in case of a tie.


@The Cat v @Stobzilla

Despite @Stobzilla's superiority, @The Cat was more efficient and they got a 1-0 win at home. That meant @The Cat was safe in the PL and looking at goal difference, if any of @K Stand Knut, @nimic or Southampton won, @Stobzilla would be relegated.

Southampton v Man United

United was having one of their best seasons in the last few years and they won 6 of the previous 7 matches. There's no way they would lose to Southampton and relegate @Stobzilla, right? :nervous:

Ouch... they did it. With this result @Stobzilla is relegated

This put the pressure on @nimic and @K Stand Knut, anything less than a win and Southampton would remain in the PL, with 3 Caf teams relegated.

Not much to say... @K Stand Knut was smashed by Arsenal and they are also relegated.

The math was easy for @nimic. Beat @sebsheep and stay in the PL. Draw or lose and they're relegated.

FA Cup winners! And knocking out Liverpool on the way, that couldn't have been sweeter. Proud of the boys.

Premier League 2009-10

Manchester United are the new PL Champions!

No Caf teams made it to the CL, even though @Bilbo was really close to qualify for the second straight season.

@Samid @Hephaestus @sebsheep and @OptimisedRed had average seasons.

@Stobzilla and @K Stand Knut were relegated.

Caf teams stealing players from each other seems to be stopping them from actually competing for the title.
