My uninformed two cents is that there are only two legitimate bidders, Qatar bid and Sir Jim. Talk about up to 7-8 total bidders is nonsensical leaks from Glazers trying to drive up price of bids from the two previously mentioned. The only reason the Qatar bid hasn’t been accepted and the deal isn’t done is because both the Glazers and Qatar will patiently wait to see what the exact dollar amount Sir Jim will tap out at, and Qatar will likely wrap up the deal at a quarter billion or so more than that final Sir Jim amount. Given the large amount of money they’ve promised to put towards stadium/training ground, Qatar will want to give the lowest percentage possible of their total planned investment into the team to the Glazers.
But if you were the state/Emir of Qatar, would you not want the absolute crown jewel of the most watched league in the world.
