Probably non. But it doesn’t mean their / his intentions are the same for United.

So we have to rely on hope just as we hope that the 800m loan from JP Morgan won't hurt us and that the Chelsea season ticket holder has united's best interests at heart

Feel the same way. Especially because its all so unnecessary. Even with the Glazer handicap we have won stuff with SAF and under Ten Hag we will again. Even with the Glazers, I reckon Ten Hag would get us there. All we need is someone to remove the Glazer handicap and let us flourish. We don't need piles of cash chucked our way on the condition that we sell our souls to Qatar.

So who do you want to own us

That's what I meant basically. PSG was still a big club but truly chaotic, inconsistent and nowhere as recognized and loved as right now.
The Qataris have their fault and have done many wrong things but overall ? There is no way to say PSG hasn't benefited from their ownership. It would be idiotic to do so

They absolutely benefited. But the funny thing is they are still chaotic.

All and all, the current PSG owners made tons of errors. The fact it's easy to dominate in France with so much money helped mask it partly. It would have been embarrassingly exposed in a stronger league.

Regarding SJ, what I read from twitter a few days back the loan amount is only to clear the existing debt and not the 5m being rumoured. Will ofcourse have to wait for any official information on that

6. Ratcliffe is lifelong Man Utd fan, Jassim is lifelong Man Utd fan.

Not in the same way you are a Man United fan or I am a Chelsea fan.

Ratcliffe is a Chelsea season ticket holder and even tried to buy them. I'm sure he has some affection for Man United but let's not pretend he really gives that much of a shit.

As for Jassim I don't know. He might well be flying over to OT all the time, he's certainly got the resources to do it!

He needs to start laying out his plans IF he has any hopes of moving voters away from Qatar

yeah. They were taken from the brink of bankruptcy and turned into a megaclub. We on the other hand already are a megaclub. And they ARE a shitshow. All celebrity star power, no substance.

Don't be ridiculous. You didn't care, maybe. But in the real world there has been loads of ongoing coverage of their finances since day one, resulting in the stack of charges they are facing.
Now that years ago is a huge difference. At the time it went through rather smoothly

At this point, we need to avoid a situation involving another leveraged buyout. If the new owner needs to take a loan of 800m to buy the club or he feels like that money is better used elsewhere, there no way he will invest a lot of his money into improving the club.

A leveraged buyout would more than likely signal another Glazer type ownership.

The Ineos bid is looking more and more in this line of thinking.

You have to wonder just what they could achieve with an already well established behemoth in United.

This is the part I'm interested in. What can be done with a club like ours.

I must say, just by thier statement, Jassime sounded impressive. The emphasis on youth and community, alongside side all of the teams progress, was the one.

Just by the work they did on the statement, and the rest that followed by Mike Keegan, you can tell they're not here to mess about. They'll do things correctly.

True. Once could say they managed their team (giving power to superstars basically) this way because they knew they were the best team in France most of the time.
The problem we have is that we are trying to draw conclusions from previous ownerships at different clubs (Nice and PSG) with very different situations than at Utd.
There is no way to tell if this Qatari group intends on doing the same type of project with United as they did with PSG simply because the landscapes are so different

What makes you think that the goal with United will change?

The fact that United are far bigger and have the natural resources to compete.

I don't see why anyone would want to own a underpar United. It would be to the owners detriment.

People look at rich owners as banks who should buy clubs in order to pump huge money into them. But a guy can buy Nice and invest some money without trying to make them into another PSG.

Agreed. I found it absurd two weeks ago when people here rejected INOES because Nice are not having a great season and it's the same with other potential owners.

You actually think the impressivess of the statenent telks us something meaningful about....anything?

Poor bloke will get belted from Ratcliffe's biggest supporters about the fact he didn't start supporting them until 92. Forgetting the fact he was not born until 82

I just don't understand why some of the fans have convinced themselves that this Qatari group will reproduce the same model of ownership (star player based). Anything is possible, they could also be looking at what's happened at PSG and decide to do things a little differently

Certainly sounds that way but unless by some absolute miracle they can prove it's funded by private investors then no way will they win over some fans

Some will not be swayed. That's their perogative. The fans who will stay will be the important ones.

How as a fanbase are we going to mobilise against some of the bids? I expect some of the match going fans will run something, anyone seen anything online?

I'm keen to find out from the experts on here if Ratcliffe is still just doing this for the publicity despite actually tendering a bid, like some on here first thought! :wenger:

The Glazers has shown that United is still a huge global brand even if its a top 4 club. That's enough for a company engaged in a greenwashing process. What makes you think that Ratcliffe will dig deep in his financial pockets to seriously compete with the ME etc? He cannot be bothered to compete anywhere else

inios revinue is 61bil. Any loan is chump change to them.

Yet Ratcliffe is still borrowing money to get us and once he kick the bucket Ineos will have a club with no emotional ties to and who had saddled it with 800m debt

And how are Nice doing in that league.
Pretty decent, 4 points off a European spot, ten away from third.

Winnable game today as well, so win that and it's five wins on the bounce.
