I’m sure Tuchel would have even harsher words to say about the non oil state latest owner of Chelsea. Obviously not arguing in favour of Qatar ownership but disagree with the notion that a non oil state owner gives more freedom to a manager.
Tuchel is a grade A moaner

QSI has history of never keeping a manager for more than 3 years

Small sample size. They have only been owners for 11-12 years. Besides three years is long in today's football. No manager post-Fergie has reached that time period and we are known to be a club that gives managers chance to stay longer than deserved.

One positive to come from a Middle Eastern takeover is it might finally get rid of those Top Reds who never accepted Man Utd becoming a global franchise. There's not too many of them but still a few lurking around the club. Get in the the bin tbh.

What is the problem with that? Our second greatest manager captained City and played for Liverpool. Without him, United would have not been a big club.
Yeah but thats Bubsy and this is a wanker.

That's all in your head.

I'd be all for this.
While arguably nice in theory (there is a massive amount of politics going on in those systems too), it just cannot be done in practice. Clubs are private businesses, the government cannot (and should not) just take them from the owners and give to the fans. Fans might not like it, but clubs are private properties of their owners.

But before Busby became our manager, he was a wanker. I mean, he captained City and played for Liverpool. That's like James Milner in reverse, even worse, cause Milner is just the second captain of Liverpool.

I hoped Arnold the rest were given more time, I really liked what I saw and I thought they did quite well in their first season in charge, the way the quickly wrapped up the sabitzer deal after the extent of eriksen's injury became apparent was quite admirable i say.

If you Google the profiles of the two names mentioned I don't think they have the background nor experience for running a football club.
One of them was the co-chairman of Qatar's world cup committee. I can see him being incharge of the whole United-centred project from the perspective of urban renewal, city infrastructure etc. Not just a football club which would be a step down for him -- responsible for a 200billion project versus a 6billion quid project.

That's all in your head.
It's not really, there was always a few who never liked the global aspect of Man Utd and sneered at overseas fans.

Those people will disproportionately hate a Qatari takeover so they may finally opt out altogether. I heard Neville's club is doing alright.

Has there been any credible reporting on potential American bids for the club? The apparent lack of news from that direction is making me think there may be a surprise or two in store over the coming weeks.
Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment have been mentioned in passing a few times. The UnitedMuppetiers account referenced ESPN saying that Oaktree Captial partnered up with HBSE. I think they were even included in the poll that The Athletic had too. From my quick bit of research, it seem the two main player in Josh Harris and David Blitzer own shares in Crystal Palace.

Are there likely to be any parties going public with their PR drives after the deadline?

Ordinarily, you'd guess yes. But the Glazers could not care less about the fans' preferences and will simply sell to the highest bidder, so spending time trying to win over the fans is a bit of a waste of time for prospective buyers, until they know they've won the auction.

The same journos that don’t want Qatar, pushed an agenda to bring in Poch over ETH.

Newcastle were facing a relegation scrap and then had the LARGEST EVER net spend in one window to get to where they are now.

Newcastles biggest ever signing for about 10 years was Michael Owen at 18 million, its an unfair comparison because ashley was a horrific owner.

Right well you were pretty strong in claiming "most supporters aren't from Manchester" so they don't understand. Man United is a global club, we're not even owned by anyone from Europe let alone Manchester. The local area/population matters very little in the grand scheme of things
Do you usually think before you write?

Are you seriously suggesting the Athletic made the results up?
The athletic doing a poll isn’t really a reasonable sample of all Utd fans. The average fan isn’t going to pay for a subscription to The Athletic especially during a cost of living crisis. It’s clearly a certain demographic of people who will be subscribers and therefore voting.

Christ.

Had we given a ridiculous contract to Ronaldo in 2009 to stop him from going to Real, would you have felt the same way?
Ronaldo would never have signed a new contract at United, he wanted to go to RM no matter what and made the plain to SAF at the time

Christ how arrogant can you get. Of course the local community matters.
That’s modern fandom.
Yeah, it matters very little to you and a lot to me. That's exactly what I'm saying.

Maybe you misunderstood. At the corporate and commercial level the local side of things are meaningless. I’m not saying it doesn’t matter as a fan.

Reality is there is from a business perspective the local fan base is negligible. It’s foolish to think they have a stake commercially. Even local players like Rashford wouldn’t stay a second longer if we couldn’t afford him from the commercial side of business

Take this shit back to twitter.
