Insulting another member
What excites me most about Saudi Arabia buying us is the drama queens claiming to care about social issues will feck off and support another club. I'm a proper man me, I like my slaves cheap and my women without any independence or freedom. And anyone who is against beheading are just pansy prick soyboys. Keep. United. Saudi.
You said in an earlier post that the forum is full of pricks and needs culling. To be honest mate, with your sarcastic and aggressive attitude to everyone that doesn’t share your opinion, you’re coming across as the biggest prick yourself from what I’ve read in this thread.

Qatari seem to be rehashing their 'dream bigger' advert used during the World cup. Joel and Avram will replace the children, Jim Ratcliffe will replace Khabi and Al thani will replace Neymar.

Anyone preferring Qatar is a disgrace. May as well get some Russia gangsters in, or the fat lad in North Korea.

The Qataris are certified scum, like the Saudis and the rest of those self appointed leaders.

I refrained from commenting much on this issue as it’s quite sensitive given where im from and where i live but this is not true. They were picked supporeted and backed by the west i.e Great Britain and then continued by the US. Not self appointed!

He's a US citizen so calling him American is also accurate.
Fair enough, couldn't resist a dig at Ronaldo.

Anyway I am firmly in the Ratcliffe camp personally, I don't buy into the idea that he isn't wealthy enough or able to easily obtain the necessary funds from his businesses, and at his age I believe it would be a hobby investment. The only caveat I would put is that no loans/debentures are placed against the club itself.
As for American owners - not to stereotype Americans of course - the shit show of ownership shown in the PL and the general mentality towards profits and returns turns me off. There would likely be a high risk of loans or something negative placed against the club (barring Musk). Plus I feel we need a clean break from the Glazers
I have no issues with Qatari or Saudi private buyers, but have no faith that they aren't essentially owned by the state.

I'm paraphrasing a quote from sheikh Rashid the founder of Dubai

"My grandfather rode a camel, my father rode a camel, I ride a Mercedes, my son rides a Land Rover, and my grandson is going to ride a Land Rover…but my great-grandson is going to have to ride a camel again."

Dubai is part of the UAE. Which is not Qatar:lol:
And please dont tell me Al Khalaifi and co ride camels to work?

I wonder if there is room for those of us who are not exactly delighted at Qatari ownership but also feel that they could never walk away from United given it has been, e.g. in my case 41 years, part of your life for too long?

I respect those who will walk away and also those who don't feel they can. I personally don't feel like I can and that's all I can really say.

I think most people are in that bucket to be honest

Pretty much where I’m at. I suspect I’ll lose interest over time if we operate on cheat mode though.

Yes, YouTube, the greatest repository of historical fact.

History isn't that simple pal, it changes from whatever perspective you use. Saying England are responsible for all world wars is very reductive and entering conspiracy theory territory.

You lose points for saying England instead of Britain or the British establishment anyway, if you want to talk about Empire.
History is written by the winners and most of what we as individuals, think we know about history is completely wrong, the observation of England vs Britain is accurate but a lot of people, especially from abroad, don't distinguish between the two, England is Britain and vice versa

You would think so but it seems awfully black or white to a lot here.

Either you better stop supporting your favorite club or you endorse a host of societal ills with no in between

Really can't be arsed worrying about the ethics relating to any potential owner. From the point of view of attracting the best players and giving ourselves the best chance of winning trophies again, the future is looking bright. Exciting times ahead

I'm half serious here but:

=> he would sack ETH , no middle management required, Players would report to Arnold directly
=> he would make us play with 8 players on the pitch #efficiency
=> he would make players sleep in Carrington so they can show their commitment to job
=> he would be happy that players work weekends

;)
Still feck all compared to the damage done by the Glazers. Not that any of that would happen anyway.

If he was as rich as some think, he wouldn't need the help of the Saudis to buy Twitter and United. I'm sure he would relish sticking his beak into the world of sport, but it won't be as easy as many think.
Well he is consistently recorded by those who deal with this kind of thing as being the richest or second most richest individual in the world, he doesn't necessarily need outside help, in some cases he doesn't want to take all the risk presumably

Personally I wouldn't want him within a million miles of the club but he's also the likeliest person (along with Bezos) who could be the equivalent of a sugar daddy like Roman

I don't think the viewpoint of the 'losers' should be taken as gospel either, but I get your point.

This is hardly the place for it anyway, I think I just get annoyed about all the whataboutery when people try and discuss this stuff.

Yeah me as well

I loathe Ogden. If there’s a negative angle to any story he’ll find it.

I beg to differ. It will hang over the club like a dark cloud. You can guarantee the media, rival fans and the like will absolutely hold this against the club, and will delight in haranguing us about our hypocrisy at every game. We won’t be allowed to forget about migrant workers, women’s rights, lgbt issues, journalist murders and we will have ‘bought’ every trophy we win post takeover cheapening ETHs achievements.

But we know that's not true. We tried to buy every title since Fergie has went and have failed miserable, who actually cares what anyone says, they said the same crap when we were buying premier League.

Even the net spend graph didn't seem to change that same accusation that we outspent everyone.

It's really quite simple for me:

Do I condone the behaviour of the owner at the company I work for? No.
Do I want to quit my job as a result? No.
If I work for him, have I lost my morals? No.
Am I going to try and influence him to live a good life? No.
