So refreshing to have actaul competent people in charge of the club. It's disgusting how much the Glazers ran the club down
It lends itself to apartments perfectly, developers are looking for anywhere within a reasonable distance of town and the tide of apartment buildings has pretty much reached that area coming through Hulme/Ordsall and connecting with the original apartments around the Quays, if you can charge a Kings ransom to live in Hulme imagine what you'll get when you can offer views of the upgraded stadium or views of media city. I know its not gentrification as such but i find its getting a bit depressing, maybe I'm just jealous. Why?

That would be for Manchester City Council and The Bridgewater Canal Company/Peel. It’s not the best walk as it stands, but you can walk there. It just needs access improving near the stadium.I'm not sure if it was on here or somewhere else, but I saw someone mention developing the quays so that you could walk to OT along the water from the city centre. That would be incredible and I wonder if there's anything like it in these plans.
I’m sure Rio and the Qataris would have done a far better job.Call me cynical but I feel these exciting new plans will involve little more than luxury apartments, maybe with a mural of some bees nearby. It's inevitable really.
Return of the prodigal sonFinance?
I've always been very anti Qatari, but i will meet any talk of local development with cynism.I’m sure Rio and the Qataris would have done a far better job.
Absolutely. The fact they went across the street to the current treble holders and took their main guy shows the respect they command. Can you imagine Murtough and Arnold trying to pull these moves?I was one of the biggest supporters of the Ineos bid, but they are definitely exceeding even my expectations by far, and I'm sure that's true for everyone else as well.

We’ll have to settle for Paul Jewell instead.Apparently Chelsea are confident Jewell is going to accept their offer. The Athletic reporting it.

@Vernon Philander exhibit 62747466 on why Goldbridge is a dumb cnut
Thats sort of the dumb shit I'm referring to. A lot of top clubs have debt and are run well. There was nothing to suggest Qatar would run Manchester United well as a football club, just that they'd throw money at it.He probably got swayed by the promise of being debt free etc. He definitely is more positive about it now at least. Not his finest hour.

Given that their bid meant we're still in massive debt and the Glazers are still the biggest shareholders, then as one of their biggest supporters surely making sensible appointments in key positions is the absolute minimum you'd expect, otherwise why were you supporting their bid?
How does anyone take this gimp seriously?
Yeah the only good ones are United People's TV and Webby & O Neill. Pity that Darren gives Howson the time of day on Stretford Paddock too
I think most wanted a full sale and sjr offered the Glazers a way to prolong their stay at the club. But yeah many wanted the Qatar bid but in all fairness I think it had more to do with getting fully rid of the Glazers than anything else.Twitter muppets/incels and Goldbridge are one thing, but let's not forget that the majority of this board were willing to throw away all principles and forget the criticism of Chelsea, City, Newcastle etc for a shady guy from a shady regime who has 3 existing pictures online. I've never looked at our fanbase the same since.

And yet you stay here...
Muppetiers and Goldbridge combined in a tweet. Nobody needs that.

Those two are actually the only ones I like as well

Yes probably for some and that just shows what standards our owners have set. But yes it's just likely that some just wanted a owner who would flood the club with his cash instead of talking it out of the club.think other 'sportswashing' clubs becoming successful had a bit of influence, too
seems like Ineos are matching what Qatar promised, but such levels of debt could scupper best laid plans
