Club Sale | It’s done!

I swear that some of the people in this thread could get a Ferrari for Christmas and moan because it has low mpg.

feck the moaners. I'm not coming down to your level in the gutter. I'm excited and happy that we have someone who is investing in the club. Away with ye, those who are miserable all the time. Go and sad wank yourself into a coma while the rest of us dine on INEOS hand wash cocktails.

Yeah we need that hand-wash to stop our key players picking up illnesses all the time

Looks like Murtough is sitting in front of them. I bet Fergie stuck chewing gum in his hair.
Need Brailsford muttering all through the game.. "We paid HOW much for him?" & SAF humming you're getting sacked in the morning.

The only thing I'm looking forward to this season is the official announcement of Ineos buying us and their new appointments and that's it.

I don't care about the injured players coming back, I don't care about qualifying for Europe, This season is dead.

Brailsford is spending his first day meeting staff, sorting access passes, and touring United’s training ground accompanied by football director John Murtough and interim chief executive Patrick Stewart. It is regarded as a light touch opening, but ultimately Brailsford is set to evaluate areas for improvement and report back to Ratcliffe. Sources say the INEOS mantra at this stage is “listen, look, learn”.

Brailsford attended United’s victory over Aston Villa on Boxing Day and the defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, but today is the first time he has been at Carrington since being shown round as part of the bid process in March.

Brailsford is expected to talk to manager Erik ten Hag as well as coaching and recruitment staff, although formal meetings will come at a later date. United’s players are also in at the complex before having some time off ahead of the FA Cup third round tie against Wigan Athletic on January 8.

Wonder if he needs to frighten Erik into changing something if he wants to keep job

SDB would have seen enough in the first two games to know we are flat out shite at the moment and he will have relayed this back to SJR.

Rumours are Jim will be there for the Spurs game so he can see with his own eyes.

Still its not 50%+1 but I hope it becomes one day

Once that is reached then the Glazers Class A shares will lose most of its worth. Thus I think its going to be either all or a minority stake for Ratcliffe

I thought the athletic article cleared up it was indeed Murtough careless with the funds?
So just a coincidence 80% of our signings either from Ajax or played against Ajax in Dutch league? Or that our scouts had already rejected Antony?

Not a coincidence at all. Ten Hag asked for player profiles in certain positions and the club didn't have anyone in the frame. So he then suggested names, which the club then acted upon. Badly.

This was probably most prevalent with Antony, as the club seemingly hadn't considered that they might need a left footed wide forward. We reportedly tried to get him earlier in the window, baulked at their price but, as we had no other targets to move onto, ended up paying some £20-30m more for him late in the window.

Interestingly, Lisandro Martinez was on the club's list as well as Ten Hag's. It's nice when everyone agrees.

We went back for Antony because we panicked after starting the season with 2 losses, and desperately wanted to back the new manager so we paid up, even though I'm pretty sure we knew what a ridiculous overpay it was going to be.

Read the Athletic article if you haven't. A lot of people also said that Ole "wasted so much money" on Amad and Pellistri...well, he didn't even know that they were coming to be first team players or how much we were going to buy them for. ETH's talent ID has been far from perfect, but it's becoming a meme now that "if ETH doesn't want him, he must be good", etc...and the general consensus is way too far from the truth now.
