I kind of felt they were waiting until after the Liverpool hammering to announce so next week makes sense.

But also, who even cares anymore?

If the result on Sunday is an ugly one, the theoretical Monday announcement would have to be substantially better than a simple 25% investment for a significant population of the fans to care.

This place runs off recency bias and it’s hilarious.

go back to when Potter was at Brighton and most here were calling him a great manager etc.

a stint at the shitshow (worse run than us btw) Chelsea and he’s now the modern day Alan Curbishley… it’s embarrassing.

for what it’s worth I don’t believe Potter to be the right man, but I don’t think he’d be a bad appointment as tactically at Brighton he was very very good and his in game management from what I remember was excellent too.

That's kind of where I am with Potter too. I think he could be a good interim at least, but I also acknowledge that there are probably better options out there, they're just in jobs right now.

Any manager's success here will be short-lived under the current hierarchy and structure. I'm not sure what it will take for that to be unanimously agreed on. Does the fradulent bald man have to come here and fail? Zidane? Ancelotti? Should we solicit a geriatric Sir Alex to give it a try?

Potter is not a bad manager. He would have some semblance of success here, providing meaningful change above him happens before he is brought in. The same also applies to many other candidates for the job.

Potter was approached for the Nice job but turned it down, maybe thats the Ratcliffe link? Or he is on the short list, time will tell.

Me.

Feels like the whole club is just sleepwalking until something is concluded and the future direction of the club clearer

Not that we’ll start winning as soon as it’s over, but it’ll be the start of whatever United are going to try to do over the next years

Yeah I’d say that’s a load of bollocks. Newcastle are ‘preparing to lose him? Yeah okay they just roll over and have their tummy tickled.
Fairly confident we’ll get Mitchell.
It could be both. Would make a lot more sense given Mitchell has limited experience as a DoF. I dont know about this aggregator but the source they are claiming is meant to be quite credible?
Also if I'm not mistaken, I don't think Newcastle can stop him from leaving. They can just make him take extended gardening leave (which is what Brighton did when he left them for Newcastle).

I quite liked the thought of Mitchell working under Edwards when we were linked to them both. Would have been a forward thinking highly competent move by INEOS.
I don’t know the source but MUFCmpb are bobbins.

The aggregator has taken the report from Alan Nixon in the Sun where it does indicate it would be along with the appointment of someone like Mitchell or Dougie Freedman as well. Every chance it's bollocks though.

Which January?
Year is 2313. United is mid-table in the Galactic Premier League. The memories of old glory, just 300 years ago are still alive in the hereditary memory of the most ardent fans.

Rumors of Glazers considering club sale are leaking in interstellar news media

Thought they said something about Edwards not looking to get back into a role at the moment. Wonder if there's any chance we could add Maldini to our recruitment team at some point too

Wouldn't hurt to have people that have knowledge of different European markets when it comes to bringing in players

Imagine what it must be like inside the club? I'm second guessing everything because the ownership situation is still not done. I dont know if I want the manager sacked, I cant get behind any link in terms of transfers. And I'm just a nobody fan. It must be getting to the players, the staff and the manager. It cant be good. We may see a lift throughout the fanbase and on the field once this is announced.

Say whatever you want to say about his tactics and qualities but he’s been dealt an incredibly shit hand.

So say what you want about the day to day things regarding the team that he is in control of. . .

That reminds me of the Texas song.

I do wish this saga will come to a conclusion. The thought came into my mind that the idea that INEOS already monitoring departments and are slowly influencing matter could start to have a negative impact if not officially confirmed.

For example, it could fester an even worse atmosphere working at United than what you already have. People will continue to feel unease about the position and the prolonging will exacerbate doubt. They will not know what is expected from them Ratcliffe or Blanc and there will be continued speculation about their positions.

Secondly, it could also have the effect that workers within the club will start to grow tired of the idea that the club will be run differently, resulting in people slipping back into old ways.

"Things are going to change when Ratcliffe comes in, you wont be able to get away with that when he is here."
"Really, I have been hearing that for the last 3 months."

How long before today's tweet saying that next week will now 100% become January?

Have you ever worked for a company changing hands in a takeover, hostile or otherwise? I've had the pleasure twice and honestly there's a point at which nobody gives a shit anymore. Uncertainty is murderous for a companies morale from the top down. If nobody knows if they'll still be there tomorrow, they often have one eye on the exit door and even if there's a difference of 1% to the effort an employee puts in - it might not sound like a lot, but start applying that across all the staff and management too, and start applying that across every single day you're waiting for the news of what's happening? It soon adds up.

It was no different for Newcastle. A lot of the reason their improvement can be put down to simply thinking that they are going places now. Now the likes of Almiron, Longstaff etc have that carrot of being part of a new middle eastern superteam and with the rewards that follow they look like they've been reborn. Under the Glazers where are WE going?

Ten Hag might be our equivalent of Steve Bruce right now for all we know. But he deserves some credit for working under these conditions - as did Steve Bruce quite honestly.

I give it until lunch time, 1pm, yes, lunch is at 1 not 12 you weirdos.

Something along the lines of, complications have left it late for this year, barring anything major announcement and confirmation expected in the second week of the new year.
