I'd be concerned if Brailsford was directly involved in football-specific decisions, but he's a proven world-class sporting analyst.

He could also be an alleged world-class sporting cheat... but the benefits of having him in a sporting setup are pretty apparent.

Yes I suppose it depends what exactly his role is - Jim obviously trusts him so he'll probably be involved in some capacity

Footballing names like Blanc, Mitchell, Maldini are the ones we want - don't need this cycling bloke anywhere near the club
Why do you say that? Sir Dave Brailsford will be heavily involved in the ‘project’ in his capacity as INEOS Director of Sport. He will take an overview as he does with Nice and other parts of INEOS sporting empire. He has a wealth of experience as a performance director, and seems highly trusted by Sir Jim. Dismissing him as ‘bike man’ or ‘this cycling bloke’ is childish and closed minded. Let’s see what he can bring to the party.
It’s clear Blanc will be club CEO in the new year, and most likely Mitchell will be DOF. Between the 3 of them that will be the kind of experienced professional sporting structure we could only dream of in the last 17 years!

At this moment is seems weird because we're clearly being fed Glazer PR and also INEOS PR.

It will be interesting to see how they manage PR going forward. Which side would be controlling that?

At the moment nothing at all is clear - if we can get Blanc & Mitchell in for day to day activities and Brailsford is just some kind of overseeing role then I can accept it

The biggest issue at the club for the past decade is too many non-footballing people making football decisions, Brailsford is also in that category plus a very dodgy past on the doping side. Although maybe that's just what we need since it seems to have worked for Pep and Klopp!

The key difference is Brailsfords sporting experience and expertise, as opposed to Woodward et al who were bankers and businessmen. It’s a totally different perspective on the club.
Also, personally I am encouraged by INEOS coming into the sporting operation first and foremost ahead of the commercial side as I believe it will focus their attention on football.

Expect Talkshite and Sky to run this segment for 3 months at least once SJR gets confirmed.

Honestly think it could break down altogether

That’s like 6 weeks away, I’m guessing that’s including the time for the league to accept it?

I’m going to cry

Eh that's a big push back if true. Must be big roadblocks in getting the deal agreed.

Thought it was a formality but with a pushback like this I'd say it's back to being 50-50.

Or maybe they are just waiting for prem to approve it but that seems pointless as there is nothing against announcing it early.

It's almost as if the media have been running without the ball for quite some time and are simply making it up as they go along. There is no primary source to any news at all and we have no idea what the state of play is. Shouting everyday about announcements and football directors, CEO's and minority investment that doesn't seem to make sense to anyone sure does generate clicks and impressions though!

Do they mean that if they agree now we wait 6 weeks or so for it to be ratified?

*Oh it’s the mirror, the beacon of all reliability

The announcement has been ruled out for 2 months with a dotted i's and crossed t's injury.

The Glazer siblings and shareholders are still fighting over what they want to happen with the club I'll bet. Some of them are no doubt fuming that Joel and Avram drove Jassim away.

I honestly wouldn't rule out Qatar being brought back to the table and a full sale back on the cards.

Qatar are done and dusted. Sounds like the Glazers just didn't like dealing with them or want to do business with them at all.

If not Jim, the Glazers will just remain in their current capacity and look at it again in 5 - 10 years I reckon, once this magic 10bn dollar valuation is more realistic. I'm just beyond caring now, it's a farce. Almost as laughable as our on the pitch performances. Best to just ride it out and see how it plays out.

Arnold has been shown the door, someone who has made the Glazers millions. It is definitely progressing, just the Glazers have zero urgency. This is nothing new.

If that was to come true then expect Old Trafford to start leaking a lot more, toilets to be trenches of piss and the team to be mid table at best. Good luck to them reaching 10bn then

By many accounts 4 of the siblings won’t be happy with that.

It could be the New Year is accurate based on the fit and proper test for SJR. However you would have thought, some of that could have been done in tandem with the takeover stuff. Clutching at straws aren't I

The mirror quoting Stretford paddock? Is that a reliable source now? How many moons is that?
When it comes to our sale, I don't think reliable is important. Lots of "reliable" ones keep telling its gonna happen tomorrow, next week, the week after and so on. Not to mention articles after articles on smallest of stuff that is gonna change at the club when Ratcliffe buys his 25%. As if they were facts.

They’re not quoting Stretford Paddock, one of their journalists David McDonnell was on Stretford paddock’s channel discussing the situation. That said McDonnell’s hardly known for his reliability so I wouldn’t read too much into this at the moment.
