Remember that thread where a poster was saying he wanted Jamie Redknapp to manage us but he meant Harry? I wonder would Harry and Jamie be our DOF- Manager? Two real football people. The synergy would be breathtaking
Haha who was this?

I misspelled a word. I would like to formally apologize to the whole Redcafe community. The Glazers. Sir Jim. Everyone at the club. I am seeking therapy for my actions and hope that I can be a better person in the futire....oh sht
It just made your rant funnier.

If he's only buying 12.5% of the Glazer's stake the deal makes even less sense than it already did.

They're giving him control of feck all for £650m. They're just fleecing him for a little cash out and maybe giving some empty promises of selling more shares down the line and nominal "control" in the mean time.

The rat is being played by the leeches, as we already surmised.
I don’t think he’s being played. I think they’re quite happy playing the fans. He doesn’t really care about full ownership he just wants to be associate with United and eventually have INEOS associated too. He’s going to get just that without paying through the nose for full control of the club.

Was just about to share this. When are they going to stop looking to SAF for guidance? Love the man but just him rest FFS and move on.

Edit: missed the Dougie Freedman thing. As bad a call as handpicking David Moyes as your successor.

Is the connection to INEOS still appropriate considering Ratcliffe has told creditors that none of INEOS money will be used to buy his United shares or fund United ?

Worrying

Pretty much repeating the same mistakes before even stepping foot in the job.

Surprised to see Bloomberg bring him on but I can't argue with anything he says - quite obviously the vast majority of fans wanted a full sale with the Glazers gone

if anyone has a link the full discussion then post it up

I don’t know anything about Freedman as a DOF (or whatever role in that sphere he’d end up in) but Palace have never struck me as an amazing well club, or at least not to the extent you’d be poaching their guy. I could be completely wrong on that obviously.

Lee Congerton has to be a joke. Sunderland and Leicester fans think he's terrible. Hope we don't go for him.

Worrying that Dougie Freedman’s name keeps cropping up when it seemed pretty much nailed on that Paul Mitchell would be our new DOF.

Nothing is nailed on - this is basically now the same any transfer window gossip as we end up getting linked to anyone and everyone

Plus there is the possibility of someone like Mitchell coming in as Head of Recruitment and someone else for DoF or Sporting Director or whatever

True. Although we’ve been hearing for a while now that Jean Claude Blanc would replace Arnold as CEO and Mitchell would replace Murtough as DOF, although not set in stone they looked the favourites. I just hope we get these appointments right for once, we’ve fecked this up time and time again over the last 10 years.

Well since Blanc already works for INEOS and Mitchell is currently unemployed, they would be the easy options

But does make sense to consider all options before going into a much needed restructure

13 year olds with weak constitutions are unhappy the Qatar bid was rejected.

I think the vast majority wanted a full takeover rather than this 25% bollocks. Qatar, US, UK it doesn’t matter much if you want to act righteous you can find fault with any country

Again.

The US and UK weren't trying to buy United. Qatar were.

I had a dream this would happen. Fergie can spot a player but and a major but I’m 99% it was him who suggested bringing a clearly over it and used up ronaldo back on the worst contract and that was clearly horrible horrible judgment even for armchair fans. Moyes ditto. We need fresh eyes an aggressive youth driven and physical/athletic approach, no favouritism and a brand new start. We need to start developing our own new leaders in house.

Good God! That's Moyeseh's music!

Fergie regularly asked Busby and Charlton for advice back in the day. He took things on board but wasn't afraid to put his own stamp on things.

I'm all for new ideas but thinking back to the last point in time where the club functioned correctly isn't a bad place to start a meaningful rebuild. Certainly, now Ratcliffe is examining the wider structure on the playing side, speaking to (I assume) many people can only be a good thing. It would be interesting to see who else he is speaking to.

Sure, Fergie's Moyes and Ronaldo interventions proved to be incorrect, but they perhaps needed a stronger person inside the club to not take on that particular bit of advice. It's also worth noting, for what it's worth, that the rank and file support were largely in favour of those decisions at the time.

18 years of the Glazers has really warped people's minds. Perfectly reasonable things are now sending people to meltdown.

People were more than happy for Beckham to be the face of the Qatar state bid as well.

None of this 25% thing is going to change anything other than the Glazers overseeing an improvement off the pitch and using the name of the club as their gambit, nothing changes until they leave and a full sale happens, which sadly won't be anytime soon.

He was almost certainly responsible for bringing Ole in as manager too. Doubt that Woodward even knew who Ole was.

How does that work if the sporting department is being restructured? Does that not count as a change to you? It’s literally the most significant change we could make.
