Jassim's bid was an extension of the Qatari government, the same government who is happily hosting and keeping safe Hamas leadership.
By that logic, Glazers funded Donald Trump & Us gov whom back Israel gov whom hitting on civilians at Gaza

Jebus, it must be tiresome to play this game

The Glazers are scum who have fecked this club beyond belief so yeah I’ll accept I was maybe a little harsh but the point stands, however we look at it his football clubs have been a failure.
You have no point let's be honest. There's about as much evidence that Jassim would lead us to glory as there is Ratcliffe.

The only thing we had for Jassim was clearance of debt.

Is INEOS now the new shirt sponsor?

I wonder if Jasmin will now go and buy Everton? That will shut the red Scouse scum up, and will surely make us see what could have been.

Would surprise me that halfway through the negotiations with Ratcliffe the Glazers pull out.

What Ratcliffe wants will be impossible for the Glazers to give up ie control, especially for someone who had only invested 25%

The whole deal that SJR is rumoured to have agreed makes zero sence which is why I dont believe its true.

How can he have full control if he only owns 25%?

How can he pump in this alledged 4bn in if the Glazers still own a bigger share (44%) and could change their mind and decide to sell those shares to Shiekh Jassim or someone else?

What about the other investers who own a combined 31%, couldnt they form an alliance and use their 31% to over-rule SJR's decision or challange the legallity of him having control?

If he is paying £1.35bn for 25% and will likely want the price of any shares he purchases in the future to be pro-rata that means the price for 100% is £5.4bn which is less than Shiekh Jassim was offering so why would the Glazers agree to these terms?

Are the Glazers going to use some of the £1.35bn to pay off at least the debt they put on the club like how Liverpools owners paid off their clubs debt with the proceeds of a shares sale?

There must be a poll about who is happy with the deal and who wanted the Qatari takeover. I will vote only if there is a 3rd, 'undecided' option.

I presume this in the end to refurbished or new stadium and training centre then?

Because surely SJR isn't going to invest into all that if he only owns 25%.

They will obviously sign a contract having all of it down in writing, you all seem to think they’ll do a deal for right now and then completely wing it after that.

You shouldn't bother, he usually has the worst takes on most subjects here.

He will because its the start of eventual full takeover

Could be proven wrong but I don’t think we hear of this Jassim bloke again in terms of buying a team if he is indeed out of this process.

Of course judging by how football has gone for us over the last ten years, he’ll buy Liverpool now I’ve said that.

They can’t even sell us properly. fecking parasites who always find a way to keep their grasp of the club and it’s drastic decline

Aren't we already light years behind our rivals?
We’d be even further behind than before. You can bet there will be no improvements to facilities and the stadium and surrounding areas. That stuff becomes harder to do the longer you delay. That’s on top of all the delay that will happen due to not getting best in class in terms of players and staff for a number of years to come.

At least if they really do take over the footballing side of things we might see a bit of change? Maybe? I just want to believe that some good can come out of this, because on the surface I’m beyond underwhelmed by the prospect.

Tbf its a very United thing that Ratcliffe is doing. We just never do things the simple or easy way!!

We really don’t need a poll to see that people are too emotional on the subject.

PIF turned Newcastle around from direr straits in the span of a season.

Charlie Savage was quoted to have said that they have better facilities at Reading FC!!

A League One club.

Brexit Jim is the guy who uses his birthplace to tug the puppet strings of gullible people and xenophobes, big difference.

Same thing he did with INEOS - played on the ‘keep it British’, Brexit card, then got what he wanted and fecked all the idiots over that’d bought into his nonsense
What’s that saying, when somebody shows you who they are believe them. . .

If rumors are true sporting decision's go to Ineos then that's a step up. Our problem was never spending. It was spending *BAD*
Nice signed Aaron Ramsey, Ross Barkley & Kasper Schmiechel in one window.

The absolute ludicrous way people are talking up Ineos despite living proof they can barely run a decent footballing operation themselves is bordering on corrupt. This 25% nonsense is putrid.

If only the Glazers did have the backing of the US government!

Jassim's bid was an extension of the Qatari government, the same government who is happily hosting and keeping safe Hamas leadership.

Cut the racism rubbish out.

Iranians are the ones behind Hamas. Not the Qataris. And besides, what's this bullshit of extensions? Is everyone in Qatar guilty of the acts of their gov't? Then every American is a war criminal by your extension for the illegal war in Iraq.

It's just bullocks what you said.

I've never been comfortable with a middle eastern bid tbh.

Jim might not be the saviour we all dreamed of on paper but if he has found a way to get the Glazers moving towards the exit door then well done to him.

All I want is that scum family to feck off, but it's not an easy task to get rid of those rats.

It’s not a done deal yet but it’s looking incredibly likely now, which is incredibly depressing. I have supported United for decades, admittedly mostly through the good times but also when we were shit but if this deal goes through I’m done with United. Maybe I’ll check the final score here and there but I’ll move on to other things in life that will be much more with my time. Why? Because there will be no hope of proper title run under Gkazer/Ratcliffe control of the club. And if there’s no hope of a proper title run there’s really no point to any of this. A bad season or two is part of the ups and downs of any top club, but to be a perpetual laughingstock of false promises is unacceptable.

I’m in no position to tell anyone else what to do, but if there was mass revolt against this deal and the stadium emptied out I would be incredibly proud of the greatest supporters in any sport on the planet. It may take emptying the stadium out — no more purchasing of merchandise or anything else that feeds revenue to the club — to send the message to these jackasses who may hold the keys to the padlocks at OT but isn’t really their club. The club belongs to you heroes who have been there through it all at OT, not just when Cantona chipped the keeper but when City hammered us 1-6. In response to any of these assholes like Simon Jordan who defend the Glazers, of course they have the legal right to run the club into the ground, but we all have the right to call the Glazers out on what they have done to this club that millions around the world embraced as an important part of their lives.

Worst run club. United became a club which gets into CL spots occasionally and it doesn’t look like changing in next decade or so. It is a matter of time City ground gets a ticker banner with number of years without United winning the league.

I wonder if the final offer of SJR will be offering a piece of the merge of Manchester United and INOES franchise to the Glazers in exchange for the remaining % class B stock. In term of business perspective, with INOES taking the shot as majority owner and taking care the sport side of things, and the Glazers will be providing the experience and connections of the commercial side, it will not only benefit the future multi football club group and also the others INOES sport franchise such as the F1 team and the cycling team. It could be a win-win situation for SJR and the Glazers, and also the Manchester United fans. If we see the INOES Sport as a whole, we don’t have to suffer the ridiculous management of the Glazers anymore. I think it’s a very creative merger solution if it pulls off.

I’m happy enough with the current compromise provided that there is a full buyout in ~3 years.

It might not be my first choice but it’s a step in the right direction. Many people acting like Ratcliffe is a naive idiot when he’s just got one over on a nation state. The guy obviously knows what he’s doing in business.

The true test will now come in how he rebuilds this club. I’m fairly content at the moment for a few reasons.

He has to do at least three things:

He simply has to address the debt and what his plans are for it.

He has to address his vision and plans for the future ( including the full buyout)

He has to address the stadium situation

Until he communicates with us his intention and what his actual plans are then it’s very difficult to have an objective view on this. I will remain cautiously optimistic about things until I hear what he’s going to say.

He isn't an idiot by his interest doesn't necessarily align with what's best for the club. He wanted to run the football side of the club and he's gonna get that, but as far as we're concerned it's like replacing Arnold with someone else.

The club needed someone who can clear the debt, and maybe invest in the stadium and training facilities. That's gone out of the window now, and the debt remains, so any hope of the club actually financing itself for the stadium is over because we can't possibly tolerate any more debt. Now I've seen people saying that investment will be made by Ratcliffe and I don't understand how can that be possible. It's just wishful thinking.

Ratcliffe probably thinks he can turn things around on the pitch if he's allowed to run the club, but the club needs more than that, and he couldn't care less as long as he gets his way. feck him really.

Fair enough, we don’t need to be the plaything of some rich princeling and nobody involved in the process gives a toss about the fans.

Why are multiple people referring to him as "Sir James Arthur Ratcliffe FIChemE"?

Obviously there's some context I'm missing to what I'm sure is a funny joke.
Apparently it autocorrects? I don't get it either....

I might deluded but I think this all a smoke screen for Qatar to increase their bid.
I might be deluded too but I wondered that

The way the Glazers have handled this whole process I doubt they’ll care about broken assurances to Ineos. If Qatar come in with a higher bid per share I think they’ll still get it. Should know this week if our theory has any merit

I still personally think Ineos will get it, but I have a slight feeling Qatar may yet come back with a last gasp attempt now that they feel like it’s nearly gone

This is a daft post by Romano. If Jassim wanted the club that badly, he would have offered what was acceptable. You can't say "you will buy something at any cost" and then refuse to give the owner what they want.

I honestly believe if he had that amount and seriously offered that amount he would have got the deal done.

He didn't have the funds

I just really hope Ratcliffe has learned some stuff from owning Nice. He's been underwhelming there but maybe he's learned his trait now. Changing Murthough and Arnold would be the first thing they have to do.
