Club Sale | It’s done!

So the Glazers pocket 1.5 billion and it’s business as usual? Mid table mediocrity for the foreseeable then.

With spiralling debt. This is the absolute worst outcome that we could have got.

From thinking that we’d be completely debt free to this :(

So unless he invests heavily from Ineos's own coffers nothing will be improved.

Yup.

Whatever money he gives the glazers will go straight in their pockets. He is buying their shares, not the club.

Will a company that owns just 25% of the club front up for a billion quid stadium or any significant investment?

It seems unlikely to me.

It’s more akin to saying hey I have these trainers, maybe officially they are worth 20 pound, but they are one of a kind and they are an opportunity that don’t come on the market often, i want 50 please. You say, i’ll give you 40, they say no we want 50, and you say okay how about 42 with the promise i’ll clean the trainers after i’ve bought them, knowing full well you could easily stump up the remaining 8 to get to 50 too. They say no again and so you say well i’m not buying them then!!

Again, Glazers greed aside, that’s a more apt comparison

United isn't one of a kind - it is a failing sporting institution with amassing debt and need of serious investment. They bid way above the market cap even under those circumstances. This is a circular conversation at this point, but surely with those things in mind you can understand why the notion that "they didn't want it" is laughable? Which, is the only thing I questioned - and caused you to interject

having money =/= paying way over the odds

This is great news and a huge relief. Qatar taking over United would have been the death of football for me.

Tempted to unblock KobiiBanks on Twitter just to see how he will want to save face

It seems very 'up in the air' with this bid, needs clarity on plenty of major points.

There was a fans forum with the club recently but I never saw anything on here, guessing it was the usual spiel from the club and Arnold backing his buddies.
Bet Arnold is chuffed, if the Qatari's had got us he could have been given the boot.

Early on in this process I remember a gay fan posting about how he couldn’t support the club if Qatar took over. He got told to “not let the door hit him on the way out”
I posted a report from Amnesty international decrying Qatar’s human rights record and they were lambasted as being woke and virtue signalling.

I hope our gay fans are sleeping easier tonight. I hope whichever heaven the dead migrants highlighted by Amnesty are in are smiling down on this decision.

I do believe we have a long road back to the top. But we are doing it the right way. And to me that means so much.
I hope everyone can understand that.

In simple. What authority will the Rat have. Can he employe new DoF and board memebers and will we have money for transfers.
It's been reported that he will be allowed to inject funds into the club and have full control over what that money is used for. If I understand the rules correctly, he could immediately provide 90mil to be available for transfers and could spend as much as he wants on infrastructure.

So if Jim gets 25% now, will he have to keep bidding for the rest of the shares in the future or will it be a set price (matching what he's paying now?) if he wants to buy them?

One year ago, if Manchester United fans were told that we would soon be on the way to being owned by a life long United fan and self-made billionaire, born and raised 7 miles from OT, most would be delighted.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Future Manchester United owner and the man that is going to take control from The Glazers....

Here is the issue I have with this, galzers staying aside.

Jim will only own 25%.

But if he injects funds, say for a new stadium (however unlikely), he pushes up the value of the club, meaning he will also have to pay more for the other 75% he supposedly wants.

The better he makes us, the more expensive it will become. So it is not in his interest to spend on success.

Its a major conflict of interest.

And will ineos really inject millions while the glazers, majority share holders, just sit there and offer nothing?

posted that on here?

Ratcliff knows that the PR campaign needs to be at its BEST.

He needs to show that he will eventually buy the club and invest INSTANTLY.
His first press release looks quite promising.

A message from Sir Jim to supporters of Manchester United

Ever since I were a young lad who worked t'pit with me brothers in Northern Manchester, I have always dreamed of owning a soccer franchise. With immense potential for financial growth and sponsorship opportunities (as well as re-franchising) I am proud to be working with the super cool Glazer guys, especially Avram and his awesome ponytail and buggy travelling dog. I look forward to engaging with Joel and his humongous peepee to swiftly move the Manchester Devils to their new home location in Cleveland before the start of the next MLS season.

I also want to address the lies in some of the media who state that I am not a real person, and merely a tax evading entity created by the Glazer family to manipulate the stock price. I am as Mankynian as Tetley Tea or eel pies.

Gloryhole Men United, Sir Jim.

I suppose he'll have a deal to buy the remaining shares over a certain period of time from now.

They mentioned that debt will be on Ineos i think but reporting on this process has been quite sketchy.

Amazing isnt it, no fan forum has even been consulted on how the club is being sold. This after they wanted fan involvement. Not even a presentation of what the plan of Ineos is for Manutd
Just our luck that our future owner hasn't told us anything about his plans for the club either. Guess it'll just be more of the same

I genuinely wonder how much of this investment in the club will actually go to the club, rather than just being more cash to line Glazer pockets. I don't expect very much of it, which leaves us in exactly the same place as before, only without any hope for a sale.

Oh come on, im sure his very expensive advisors will have considered this and made provisions, and the same the other way around, if the value of the club drops through the floor it'll have been considered and factored in to the respective agreements.
