Says a lot of good things here does Becks.

I liked what he said in the interview with the Athletic in regards to United need to be challenging for the major honours in a consistent basis. However, if his friends do not increase their bid, they will not get to acquire the club.

The good thing about both bidders is that they do seem intent on focusing on the football side of things. Just need to get these fecking leeches out first.

Wouldnt surprise me if they make David Beckham club president. Basically to do what he does in Qatar, but for Man United. A likable megastar being the public face of Manchester United, while the decision makers are silent. Basically what the Glazers wanted Fergie to me.

Sounds to me like he's gonna be part of it if Jassim takes over

Yeah, if he's not part of any Qatar ownership I'd be shocked.

Not sure where you got the bit about Ratcliffe focussing on the football side. He's been pretty tight on what he's planning to do, apart from lodging 10 different bids just to outmanoeuvre the cash bid.

In that case we'll need a proper structure behind the scenes whilst Becks is roaming around the club in his suits.

Jassim's son seems like more of a fan than his father. Keeps posting stuff on his Instagram, did so today after the win too.

I imagine that's how it'll be. Have a major infrastructure from top to bottom, and have a public face to it. In fact, I think if this takeover goes through a lot of ex-players will be ambassador types doing proper work for the club. Neville being one for sure.

Aye, United need a guy paid millions by Qatar to talk up its spice market to get paid further millions to talk up its takeover.

Not saying he's wrong or anything, just that he's on their payroll.

Definitely.

They'll need well paid legends to sell their dictatorship a bit more. They won't be doing a thing for United. They'll do it for Qatar.

Neville's appearance on HIGNFY is the benchmark as to why he should stick to football punditry and leave politics to professionals.

Hislop destroyed him.

A man who truly cares for the club and realises what it’s gonna take. Everyone needs to get on board with the idea it’s the only way.
Isn't Beckham Qatar ambassador for awhile now?
Wouldn't read much into it

He’ll definitely be involved, of course he owns inter Miami as well so he has his hands full already but say what you want about Beckham, he genuinely loves the club was a fan before he played and a fan after, maybe he could lend us Messi for 3/4 months next year when he speaks to Jassim about the takeover ?

At the beginning of the process it was reported that a few past players would jump on board with Qatars bid if they won. They didn’t want to be associated with a losing bid and being tarnished with that.
Beckham was apparently one. Rio another

Glazer’s will have to sell as soon as it dawns on them they might have to dip into their own pockets. Won’t be long before that happens - could still be a year or so, but that is the reality. 92F know this and are just prepared to wait with their bid on the table. No need for them to up their bid at this time - unless another suitor comes out of the woodwork, which is highly unlikely imo.

Erik Ten Hag may not have a year. The staff and the people around the club are in limbo and it affecting the atmosphere around the club. If we do not make a Europe let alone the Champions League our numbers for FFP will be even worse than the summer transfer window just gone.

Its funny how Beckham isnt talking about getting United back in the game or talking us to challenge again. He's talking no 1. At the very top. Qatar clearly arent in this to make the numbers up.

Would love Beckham to have a role, just think he surrounds himself with smart people and makes smart moves. Would also be a help when talking players into joining the club. He has a huge profile and genuine love for the club.
Rio on the other hand, I’d hate for him to be involved. Seems to me like he hasn’t a clue what he’s talking about half the time and not sure what he’d bring to the club.

I’d also get Neville involved somehow, say what you want about his punditry, he’s at least intelligent enough to know that United should have the very best the game has to offer, and I don’t think he’d rest until that was the case.. set piece specialist? “Get the best one” .. goalkeeping coach? “Get the best one” .. kit man? .. “get the best one” .. I genuinely think you need someone in there constantly reminding them of that. We’ve been treading water for too long and been over taken in every department

I have a feeling the Glazers are playing games. They announced that they are considering selling the club and investors got excited so shares prices went up. Imagine that they sold their shares when it was high and then they delay the sales with excuses, the shares price comes down and they buy back those shares that they sold. They can easily make millions off the investors and put the money in their pockets from the stock market. Only the rich can make money using dirty tactics in the financial market.

The lawyer referred to a merger.

Is a merger taking a simple majority, 50% plus.

Is this why Sir Jim is now looking at an initial 25% - no control no merger? Confusing.

Your 100% right, buying 25% stake as an investor would not be considered a M&A deal unless there was an additional Put and Call staggered contract stating that the company buying the 25% stake are looking to take control of the club in future timeline.

This is why there is so much confusion with the INEOS final bid, no one actually knows how it is structured.

Essentially confirming the bid is far from dead without actually say anything of the sort.

Only one possible reason not to sell is to wait for the Super League(if it's inevitable, and I hope it never becomes a reality).

More likely is that Uefa change their competitions into something resembling more of this structure. The new 36 team format next season is the start of a transformation into the idea of more of the top teams playing each other in a league format. The problem for the Glazers is that 5 teams may well qualify for this new format going forward but United under Glazer ownership would still be a yo yo club 3rd-5th one season 6th-9th the season after.

I keep hearing they are waiting for the FIFA world club cup, we’ll they are not qualifying for that either as they are not wining the CL this year and they will not win the PL or generate enough ranking points.

So what are they waiting for, next summer they will have to invest £30m of their money or Jimmy Rats money, otherwise they won’t be able to make any transfers.

that’s market manipulation isn’t it? Highly illegal.

I think they’re selling. They’re just slow at everything they do.

It is illegal. The guy behind the post are having some fun with the idea I guess :)

I read somewhere that Joel Glazer is someone who don’t do decisions lightly. Apparently he is on the extreme end on time used to make a decision.

Hopefully his getting there soon.

i imagine it takes him hours to even take a shit. Sit there with pants down, but reluctant to push. Maybe ask the siblings

To echo the above, it would be textbook market abuse if the Glazers flippantly floated the idea of a sale in an attempt to raise share prices. The SEC would have a field day.
