Admire the optimism
Would take something unprecedented to prevent it in my opinion.
Admire the optimism
2019 - Covid 19 starts.
I thought the same but I’m beginning to think they would happily walk away and launch a major PR attack on The glazers to save face.
It's a concern. You'd assume that Ineos (and certainly Qatar) are/were offering the Glazers an earn-out as part of the purchase deal, to allay Joel & Avi's fears about missing out on a future TV rights/streaming cash bonanza. If they weren't, they certainly should have been - probably the only way of prying the club from their hands.
No confidence just a feeling that they will want to leave at least the asking price on the table, to not win for them would be hugely embarrassing having come this far.
You have an issue with Trump but no problem with a war criminal like Bush? I think you should check your moral compass pal and me and you leave it at this stage.Always thought their (Glazers) association with Donald Trump was far worse, Kostov. It's the main reason I want all of them out of United. Not sure why you think this refutes my above points all the same. Whataboutery is not an argument.
It would make more sense if Bush was buying United, but, even then, his political position is not one of dictatorship and even Avram could denounce him wherever and whenever he liked.
IF the Glazers plan to announce either a pause, partial investment and that they are staying just before the season starts then that would be just
incredibly negative PR which could well impact actually how well the team starts the new season as well as infuriate the fans, am fairly certain
that this would cause morale to nosedive, for so many reasons it has to be an announcement of a full sale.
Exactly. They’re not staying. There are so many moving parts to this - it was always going to take for what seems like forever as it’s the Glazers. They’re greedy and they take ages doing anything.Exactly. The time to announce that they were staying on was as soon as the season ended. This would have given them a three month period to get their ducks in a row in relation to the required investment needed to try and starve off the absolute vitriol that would be coming their way.
Announcing they are staying two weeks before the new season starts would be the stupidest decision they could make. Games will definitely get called off if this transpires.

No fan of Bush but war criminal is an actual legal thing determined by international courts. It has become to mean absolutely nothing over the years as people like yourself water it down to simply mean "anyone who initiates a war I disagree with"
What international courts, maybe you are talking about the ICC?No fan of Bush but war criminal is an actual legal thing determined by international courts. L.ol. Games definitely won't get called off. Nobody will do anything apart from shout outside the Megastore or wave a few banners.
Sports journalists are obviously being poked by editors asking them why they haven’t written any MUFC Takeover stories recently when they are so click productive.
The leaks have both come from the buying parties so I don’t subscribe to thatThis is simply damage limitation from the club and the Glazers. Week before new season, they're not selling and they know there is a huge risk of protests. They're just trying to pacify. A bit like when we messed up transfer windows and the day after deadline day there would be stories that we'll hire a DoF and make sure mistakes aren't repeated etc. It's just bollocks.

I dont think anyone in the club is that savvy to plan that, but I do admire your thought processMy hope is that a sale has been agreed with the Qataris, but an announcement delayed until the end of the transfer window, so the club doesn't get rinsed by more extortionate than usual transfer fees.
A man can dream

They wouldn’t bother getting in Raine Group and twerking for Ineos/Qatar only to say “oh actually we’re not selling.”
They’d never be able to sell after doing that as future potential buyers would tell them to do one.
This has been debunked about once every 3 pagesMy hope is that a sale has been agreed with the Qataris, but an announcement delayed until the end of the transfer window, so the club doesn't get rinsed by more extortionate than usual transfer fees.

Liverpool got called off.L.ol. Games definitely won't get called off. Nobody will do anything apart from shout outside the Megastore or wave a few banners.

that game was called off because there was minimal/no police presence as it was a covid lock out game and the protestors had it easy getting into the ground. this wouldnt happen on a normal matchday.Liverpool got called off.
You underestimate our fans. Just because you’re sat at your laptop doing nothing about the Glazers, don’t tarnish the rest of our matchgoing fans with the same brush.
Surely if they weren’t going they would have announced it before now. Why would they leave it until the start of the season to announce they are staying and not give fans time to digest the news and calm down slightly?
You forgetting the Liverpool game at OT that got called off due to protests or...?
