Club Sale | It’s done!

I thought the same but I’m beginning to think they would happily walk away and launch a major PR attack on The glazers to save face.

Yeah will hurt like hell if they go and buy either Spurs/scousers. I could just about live with West Ham but not them two no way

Bruno Fernandes signed. Showed some leadership on our team. Boris Johnson and Matt Hanconk did not during that first year of the pandemic, "we're guided by the science," "a new normal ", then followed Sunak's deadly "eat out, to help out" allowing the virus to mutate.

Anyway project restart arguably saw United's best attacking form since Ferguson left. It was definitely Solksjaer's best spell as manager. Rushford was coming back from a back injury, but Martial, Greenwood backed up by Fernandes and Pogba were all very good.

They were never to go and win the league but our front 3 did outscore Liverpool's, during their title winning season.

It's a concern. You'd assume that Ineos (and certainly Qatar) are/were offering the Glazers an earn-out as part of the purchase deal, to allay Joel & Avi's fears about missing out on a future TV rights/streaming cash bonanza. If they weren't, they certainly should have been - probably the only way of prying the club from their hands.

Maybe that's the next trick for Jassim to try, however knowing how money hungry they are I don't see it working unfortunately

No confidence just a feeling that they will want to leave at least the asking price on the table, to not win for them would be hugely embarrassing having come this far.

Yeah unfortunately think they are going to suffer the huge embarrassment of being strung along

Always thought their (Glazers) association with Donald Trump was far worse, Kostov. It's the main reason I want all of them out of United. Not sure why you think this refutes my above points all the same. Whataboutery is not an argument.

It would make more sense if Bush was buying United, but, even then, his political position is not one of dictatorship and even Avram could denounce him wherever and whenever he liked.
You have an issue with Trump but no problem with a war criminal like Bush? I think you should check your moral compass pal and me and you leave it at this stage.

2020, bill gates loves a good virus....back on topic, the Glazers have a very good offer on the table from Qatar, have zero respect for the club and its fans, saddling the club with more debt and only interested in their pockets,
quite simply the worst owners in the history of this great club, they really need to go before things turn extremely toxic.

IF the Glazers plan to announce either a pause, partial investment and that they are staying just before the season starts then that would be just
incredibly negative PR which could well impact actually how well the team starts the new season as well as infuriate the fans, am fairly certain
that this would cause morale to nosedive, for so many reasons it has to be an announcement of a full sale.

Exactly. The time to announce that they were staying on was as soon as the season ended. This would have given them a three month period to get their ducks in a row in relation to the required investment needed to try and starve off the absolute vitriol that would be coming their way.

Announcing they are staying two weeks before the new season starts would be the stupidest decision they could make. Games will definitely get called off if this transpires.

Exactly. They’re not staying. There are so many moving parts to this - it was always going to take for what seems like forever as it’s the Glazers. They’re greedy and they take ages doing anything.

They wouldn’t bother getting in Raine Group and twerking for Ineos/Qatar only to say “oh actually we’re not selling.”

They’d never be able to sell after doing that as future potential buyers would tell them to do one.

No fan of Bush but war criminal is an actual legal thing determined by international courts. It has become to mean absolutely nothing over the years as people like yourself water it down to simply mean "anyone who initiates a war I disagree with"

What international courts, maybe you are talking about the ICC?

L.ol. Games definitely won't get called off. Nobody will do anything apart from shout outside the Megastore or wave a few banners.

Sports journalists are obviously being poked by editors asking them why they haven’t written any MUFC Takeover stories recently when they are so click productive.

This is simply damage limitation from the club and the Glazers. Week before new season, they're not selling and they know there is a huge risk of protests. They're just trying to pacify. A bit like when we messed up transfer windows and the day after deadline day there would be stories that we'll hire a DoF and make sure mistakes aren't repeated etc. It's just bollocks.

The leaks have both come from the buying parties so I don’t subscribe to that

My hope is that a sale has been agreed with the Qataris, but an announcement delayed until the end of the transfer window, so the club doesn't get rinsed by more extortionate than usual transfer fees.

A man can dream :wenger::wenger::wenger:

Who said I have 'no problem' with George W. Bush?

The usual pro-sportswash tactic of 'gotcha!' with misinformation.

I dont think anyone in the club is that savvy to plan that, but I do admire your thought process

I think they wanted to sell but are now not so sure. This is a combination of United's good financial performance, the renewed optimism under EtH and the disappointing calibre of bids and indeed bidders.

They never actually said they were selling outright, and I'd imagine Ineos and Qatar, especially Qatar, will come back when the prize is one of the biggest and most identifiable sporting brands in the universe. Raine, too. They get paid anyway.

Still think we'll end up in Qatari state hands.

This has been debunked about once every 3 pages

Liverpool got called off.

You underestimate our fans. Just because you’re sat at your laptop doing nothing about the Glazers, don’t tarnish the rest of our matchgoing fans with the same brush.

They aren't pacifying us one iota that's for sure

Surely if they weren’t going they would have announced it before now. Why would they leave it until the start of the season to announce they are staying and not give fans time to digest the news and calm down slightly?

that game was called off because there was minimal/no police presence as it was a covid lock out game and the protestors had it easy getting into the ground. this wouldnt happen on a normal matchday.

No chance they will do it just after the season starts because leeches don't give a feck

You forgetting the Liverpool game at OT that got called off due to protests or...?

No I was there and several friends had their lives turned upside down due to their involvement.

None of the organisers from that protest will have anything to do with the current "movement".

Yes and as said above. That won't happen again. None of those involved in that will go anywhere near it.

And I don't think people really appreciate what getting a game called off will entail. Post Covid, it means mass pitch invasions again. It probably means more criminal records for those involved. It means losing your job because you fail a DBS check. Are people willing to risk arrest blocking coaches outside the team hotel again.

I've been involved in most of these protests since I was old enough (after the green and gold campaign). Most talk a good game but are usually nowhere to be seen when anything remotely controversial happens that isn't just waving a few banners.

The Liverpool protest happened because a number of those involved from the Murdoch/pre Glazer protests organised it. Nobody within the 1958/TRA groups have anything close to what's needed to pull that off again.

Always knew the rat b******s will stay on after not getting their ridiculous 7bn valuation. They tried to rat their way to more money via SJR but no one can screw hedge funds / institutional investors openly and guess the glazers found that out. God I hate more than I hate fake reality shows

Any chance one of the potential bidders has had a offer accepted and is now going through the fit and proper persons test with the premier league? Could that be happening without anything leaking?

I’ve just read a article on the athletic around this.

“The more important point is that lots of people have failed it but because that information would only become public if they were already owners or directors of clubs, we very rarely get to hear about it and failed applicants are unlikely to talk about it.

Speaking to the BBC in 2017, former Premier League boss Richard Scudamore said he had turned down potential club owners “too many times to mention”. When pressed for a number, he said “at least 10s, probably 20s”.
