2014 and not very good going off how they've ran United into the ground.

They were basically running things long before he died as well, almost from the very beginning of the nightmare. For all his many, many, many faults, old Malc was at least somewhat competent as a businessman if nothing else. His children, well the two ghools charged with running United are anything but.

Genuine question, I wonder if they fear for themselves when they go about their days, and if they have security with them most of the time.
Not from Utd supporters when they are in Florida. They will have security, but there has never been a close case where a fan has gotten near them and abused them like Woodward & Judge and also Woodwards home.

Feel like this gives them to much credit. Suggests they are cunning and manipulative which implies a degree of intelligence.

It also suggests they give a solitary shit about what the fans think, rather than just getting as much money as possible

They're about to sell the club (likely) for 5bn after milking it dry. Seems like decent buisness from a certain percpective.

In spite of them, not because of them.

As far as I know, they have not had any major success in any venture they have undertaken themselves rather than having it handed to them by their dad. He saw the potential in United, in Tampa and before that in Malls and rental properties. Though with United just about anyone could see the potential.

Neither 92F nor Ineos are going to come in and pump hundreds of millions into the transfer fund this summer. Our spending is limited by FFP regardless of who's in charge.

It wouldn't surprise me if one of the buyers has already won but requested not to announce until September because they believe doing so will raise asking prices for players too much.

I want the Glazers out as much as the next guy. But I don't think it makes a functional difference how quickly it happens for this particular transfer window.

I asked before why you lot follow the stock price and the only answer I got was someone saying you were all idiots, so I'll give it another go.

Why are you following the stock price?
It's like looking up at the star constellations and then trying to divine the future from their movements.

It would surprise me because it’s completely illegal to do that.

Why would they? There's no danger to them in Florida. This situation really shows how little power the masses actually have despite people's best efforts to make themselves believe they matter.

Sometimes it feels like it. They had every chance to finalize this deal before the end of the season, but no, they'll drag it as long as possible. They'd probably hate it if we win the league next season just after they feck off. The deal will likely happen once it's mathematically impossible for the new owners to have any impact on our summer plans.

I fecking hate them with a passion, fecking parasites.

The thing is the longer they wait, the more chance that one of the bidders pulls out and takes the Glazers leverage with them. For them it's a balancing act, at reaching the point of maximum value before waiting too long and losing one of the bidders. They don't care about the club or the fans, they care about extracting the greatest amount of money and nothing else

Yeah, and the sooner they get the money they can start invest them elsewhere to make more money. There´s no benefit for them to have the cash locked up in this sinking ship.

That’s where we are now imo. I think they’ve lost any leverage they might have had as neither side seem to be moving on their bids. They just need to make a decision and get on with it.

It was probably their fathers plan form the beginning. I wouldn't give them any credit for it.

Yep, while SAF was in charge the club did well in spite of them but as we seen once he retired his brilliance was just papering over the cracks.

Malcolm was a self made Billionaire so I'd imagine he was a very good businessman. But his children are clowns.

When the Glazers took over, they basically handed full power to Fergie & Gill - they didn't need to do much apart from approve transfer budgets. Fergie had more power and freedom than he'd ever had before as he used to have to answer to the board of directors.

The problems came when Fergie & Gill retired and Joel Glazer become involved in day to day running of the club via Woodward.

Since his passing the children have basically sucked out every single penny that they could grasp.

See this article confirming their scalping of the club.

Not having a go at you personally but....
Ahh FFP the dreaded 3 words. How come you only hear it affects Utd, Not from Chelsea who spent over £600 mill. Not from City, who seem to forever get accused and nothing happens. PSG, RM even Newcastle will start spending big. Its bollocks as there are ways around it. Utd and the parasites spin this every year. How come they came out with this last year, yet after the Brentford defeat, we suddenly were able to spend a shit load more?

Yep, Joel and Avram are just riding on the coattails of their dad's vision and subsequent execution, they shouldn't be credited with any great intelligence or achievement. He was the one that spotted an asset that would appreciate considerably over the coming decade(s) and did it with no risk to himself or the family. All they're doing is riding this thing out and they've shown no particular ability in doing so in sporting terms, because if they did their asset would be worth even more. Everything positive that has happened in terms of growing revenue was an inevitability as the landscape of football changed. A chimp could have overseen that in truth. They've got advisers for the sale as well so no particular skill there.

When all the fans realise that the Glazers are only selling at £6bn, that’s when the euphoria will soon be cancelled out by sheer disbelief !

I think the massive profits they are sadly about to make suggest they're not all that bad at business.
But due to ETH's determination to win everything the team until the European elimination we're playing every three or four days.

If you play that many games, two cup finals, you generate significant sums from gate receipts and TV.

The business Greats, in January, gave ETH two loanees to navigate the traffic!

This. I feel that using the r-word to describe anyone from that family is still very mild to describe their level of mental deficiency.

Degenerates.

Except they will not get anywhere near £6bn. In USD probably, but not GB Pounds.
Just wait to the final figures are released they are getting at least $6bn or $1bn each, fans are going to be shocked when they realised what they actually wanted and what they are actually getting. That thread alone is going to blow peoples minds !

It seems some people have little comprehension of just what £6BN amounts to....say it fast and it means little...but when you inform them that £6BN equates to a million pounds per week for more than a 115 years then it should open their eyes....the Glazer's greed knows no bounds.

This. There's plenty of real things to complain about with the Glazers, but the length of the sale isn't one of them. It's a multi billion dollar deal, worse case it could literally take years. Last year, Microsoft bought ZeniMax for $7.5 billion. They announced it was happening at the beginning of March, and finalized nearly 7 months later. Chances are they were working on it prior to the announcement, and that didn't include multiple bidders.
I can't wait for this all to be done, but checking for updates every 5 minutes is just a path to despair.
True but here the drag appears to be the merciless money extraction game. We have had deployed every strategy going.

Silent treatment, endless rounds of bidding, the prospective buyers not being told what is going on. The agent participating in antagonising the buyers merely for the purpose of raising further bids. Claims of family disagreements, all the family will retain a stake, two want to retain a stake, all are out. Third parties, PSG guy, being contacted to poke the buyer into a higher bid.

Sure the financials, legals and regulatory stuff takes time but here they are still deploying the rinsing tactics, that is the frustrating part.

Exactly, part of the problem is also the appeal of the two main bidders, they are not engaged in a purely business decision (they would have both pulled out) but they are emotionally attached (hopefully as fans) and won't easily back down. This has only encouraged the Glazers who can't believe their luck and will test the bidder's 'committment' to the limit.

I saw an article today on twitter (Sorry can't remember by who) that said this sale feels like a last act of vengeance by the Glazers against a fan base that despises them, and I couldn't agree more.

They've never really been loved or even liked at this club, even when we were were doing well in the last few years under Fergie. The way they purchased the club using debt made them an enemy before they even picked up the keys. I'm not familiar with what their relationship is with the Tampa Bay fans, but I'm assuming they aren't anywhere near as hated..

Now with this sale, they could obviously do things much quicker, they know this process is hurting the club, slowly torturing the fans and part of them is probably enjoying it. If they were dealing with a fanbase that adored them, I really think they would have wrapped this up weeks ago, if not months.

I believe Malcolm would have got a grip of Woodward burning all his money. The children have no concept of loss
