Could The Jimster not have just used his Chelsea ticket to schmooze clients?

The lack of any further bid rumours and Sir Jim fluff pieces point towards whoever is buying United (SJ) is finalising the deal.

If I was living in Liverpool and had access to a season ticket I’d defo go! Free live PL footy is not to be turned down.

Just stand smiling silently when they’re losing would be so sweet.

Surely ban worthy!

Should you ever decide to use the billions you earned in London in the 90s on buying United, I can't promise I won't sell this story or the Palace season ticket story to the press.

Might as well lock the thread if there's nothing going to be happening until at least Wednesday. The cnuts won't want to rush anything on their first day back and they'll have to refresh their minds from where they left off before the break so that's another few days......

I'm not going down this 'top red' Road and I said I'm not judging you, but I'd never ever be going to watch another team.

 Shameless, pocco.

And that is absolute bollocks btw.

So if someone gave you free tickets to say, a North London derby in great seats, you’d reject them to stay at home shitposting on the caf…? feck off would you.

Or Spurs / Newcastle whoever are somehow in the CL semis vs Real or Barca and someone gives you tickets and you’re like, ‘no thank you, I’m better than Rhyme Animal’!? Give over.

I suspect this thread helps keep a lot of the nonsense contained in one place rather than spread across the forums d is why it's been moderated in a relatively relaxed fashion.

The reality is that we all want the club to be fan owned
Ha! No way. You only have to look at this thread to see what an absolutely thunderous shitstorm that would be.
You’d think we would all agree on removing the Glazers, but then you’d have transfer argument, conflict about the stadium and whether you rebuilt or refurb, votes on hiring and firing CEOs, DOFs and managers which would be Ole in/out all over again, everytime. All fans would be equal but some would be more equal than others, cliques and factions would compete and nothing would ever get done. No thanks.

I didnt single him out. The post below was reported for wumming. I thought the fairvthing to do was just ask him to stop.

Can you say it's not deliberately intended to rile and adds nothing to the discussion?
Sheesh, if that's considered as a wind-up, the caf has gotten extremely different I guess from what it used to be.

This whole thread the last few hundred pages is posters winding each other up, I don't think singling out @kouroux is quite right, especially considering there are posters in here who have been on a constant, way worse, wind up and seem to get away with it.
Besides my comment was said in general and not aimed at anyone in particular. If someone feels targeted then I don't know what to say but laught it all up

Anybody care to give me a quick summary of today's (non) developments? Absolutely anything today to suggest progress?

There's been no news since the Reuters and AFP short articles were published about 3 days ago. I wouldn't expect any further updates until midweek at the earliest.

It’s a huge amount of money. What a lot of people are ignoring and what the banks won’t be ignoring is the difference between revenue and profit, how sensitive INEOS are to gas prices.

Banks won’t lend billions without a sound business plan. Based on the fact INEOS have, we can assume, been told that they will get that financing that they are bidding. It’s very likely that they have given a business plan for Man Utd.

Also, I’m not sure about the structure of the financing but have heard on news it’s a mix of loans and bonds.

yeah we’re getting in the weeds now but I’m not saying they don’t have to do a business plan, it’s a trivial to get a few lawyers on it

simply that, in order to get the loan Jimmy doesn’t need a business plan showing income streams Fromm United to cover it

that’s the subtext of this entire discussion, that SJR needs to do a Glazers on us and suck money out of the club to pay for the loan

maybe he will, but it would be idiotic to try and operate United by paying around 150/200m a year in loan fees from the clubs revenues..

What does that have to do with Jassim?

Oh nothing because he's definitely not a front man for the Qatari state. He probably won 6 bilion quid in the national lottery...

Don't forget, his old man is very wealthy (far wealthier than his Forbes listing). Definitely not a state bid therefore. ;)

Yep I get you mate, that's why I thought the reactions to it were pretty ridiculous.

The rivalry between The Brexiteers and The Persecutionists rages, when one of the gang members falls in love with their perceived enemy…

Thanking you. I hope we get some big conclusive news this week rather than a few dodgy tweets from dubious sources.

You mean his old man - also from the al-Thani ruling family - is also a billionaire? What a staggering co-incidence. What are the odds???

While I definitely believe it is a state bid, forbes work off publicly available information, like shares held in public companies, or known assets of significant value, for a secretive oil rich state, they can't look st people's bank accounts, if assets aren't declared publicly they don't know about them, they have the emir of Qatar as worth less than 2 billion, putin not even worth a billion. People can certainly hold a lot of wealth in these countries without forbes knowing about it becusse wealth there isn't like the west where its about shares held in public companies, they're hugely cash rich to a degree that doesn't really exist in the West so a lot more of their wealth will he liquid

I'm sure the entire al-Thani clan are all self made and none of their money emanates from the state.

In Putin's case, his wealth is down to pure corruption. His actual Presidential salary is only 120k per anum. I'm sure old man al-Thani has more than his Forbes listing as well, but that's a separate issue from whether his son has the money to buy United outright and another 1 billion to build a stadium.
