I want Ineos to win this but the Glazers are using Jim's bid as leverage to get Qatar to offer more, and I think they'll probably get what they want

The way I see it Jassim shouldn't need to mull over making a bid,if he wants the club bad enough then shouldn't be any hesitation

Yeah, this is definitely the one big question mark I have for Qatar, if they're serious they should easily be beating Ratcliffe.

If they’re serious they’re not just gonna throw out more money than is actually necessary.

I’m surprised more hasn’t been made of that private Qatar flight from Tampa to Manchester

Ok it might be nothing to do with any of this, but apparently that flight never made a journey like that before and it seems a very coincidental time for it to have happened now just before an apparently crucial final week
It was from Sarasota, not Tampa. About an hour's drive away from Tampa. There are at least 4 airports closer to Tampa that handle private jets. That also assumes any of the Glazers were in Tampa (some have homes there, some don't, and all have multiple homes).

Also, if the Qataris had just met with Glazers, why would they fly to Manchester? If it was to London, you could argue that they were going to to see the Raine Group.

Yeah time to stop sending in lowball offers Jassim as that's not going to work, have to blow Ratcliffe out of water if you want this club bad enough. This is the leeches way of giving you an ultimatum to pay up or lose out

If they want to win the bidding then they will need too. If they aren’t serious then they’ll just leave it there and let INEOS conclude things with the Glazers.

I mean if they're serious about buying the club. I mean 6 billion is like a weeks worth of oil and gas or something, if they're going yo lose the club over the sake of a billion pounds then they weren't really all that serious, if they were there's no way a private investor could ever beat them

Fans really advocating for Qatar, scraping twitter for any sort of confirmation bias, before then pasting shit tweets here.

It all reminds me of American rednecks diving into conspiracy news that write articles that they prefer to believe.

Your English is uniquely strange.

Must admit I'll be staggered if Qatar...sorry...Jassim doesn't win. It'd have been a bizarre bid..if that happened to be the case. But again, Ratcliffe is the favourite, Jassim could make a 90th minute offer they can't refuse. Or the Glazers could decide not to sell.

The ninety two foundation has been set up solely for the acquisition of Utd, ultimately, and with an offer for what the Glazers are seeking, there is only one way this is heading and I fully expect Jassim to be announced as Utds new owner soon, everything else is just PR and brinkmanship.

If the Glazers entered into this process with an interest to stay on (Joel and Avi that is) unless they received an exorbitant bid for a price they deem appropriate, then that would explain why Qatar don't win. Their bid wasn't enough to trigger whatever number the Glazers had in mind, which means the fall back would be the INEOS bid that may allow the two brothers to remain on in some minority role.

Seems to revolve around the fact that Jassim's bid was for 100% of the club whereas Jim was only looking to take a 51% or whatever share with Glazers retaining a share. Similar money but for less shares.

But they've got a price and it's likely they'll be bought out eventually by Ratcliffe. If Qatar want it badly enough they can't be stopped. Anyway, I suspect Ratcliffe will have better plans for OT whereas Jassim will probably build a new stadium.

Oh, yes. It's exactly the same and most of it is definitely not tongue-in-cheek.

I thought the Glazers only owned 69% of the club?

Assuming either party sign a deal at the end of next week that’s the 20th May, the deeds, Paperwork due diligence will take at least 2 months from that point, that’s at best 20th July 2023 more like 10th August 23, giving the new owners 3 weeks to work in the transfer window.

There has to be some form of correspondence between SJ/SJR and the Glazers with regard to approved players; there must be certain players like Harry Kane, Kim Min Jae and Declan Rice/M Caciedo where all parties agree on these signings and the club will use the credit card facility to pay down payments, All parties know they have to sell at least 7 or 8 players to increase the transfer budget to a more meaningful amount of £180-220m but maybe decent free transfers like A Rabiot or M Thurham can also be easily agree.

You keep saying Qatar has "killed" as if they are going around shooting migrants. I am sure there have been accidents but your connotation is not that here.

Will you call JR a "killer" if there was any fatality in any of the Ineos operations?
I've known of 5 people from the neighbourhood I grew up in being lured there for high paying labour work, but forced to work and live in horrible conditions for a portion of the promised pay, any dissent and you're basically doing unpaid work, and basically trapped cause your passport is confiscated; all that with no health, safety and legal support. They eventually made it back home after months and months of trying, and not in a box which was lucky given what they had to go through. All this just in the neighbourhood I grew up in. So, yeah I'd say that poster's connotation is quite close to reality.
