Well, the article says the preferred bidder will be announced in the next few days, that being Ratcliff.Haven't they been discussing details of a sale for about 3 months now? How the feck is that an update?
Exactly. And while the new debt would not be at club level, in reality the new owner would look to service it with club income.
It takes you an hour to shit? You need more fibre!Checked for news almost every hour in the last two weeks and of course it breaks whilst I’m taking a shit.
Jim’ll fix itWelcome. The Glazers and Sir Jim is a match made in heaven. Exciting times ahead
Well, the article says the preferred bidder will be announced in the next few days, that being Ratcliff.
The Qataris need to come in and offer more to sway the other siblings, as Ratcliff is valuing their shares at a higher price. People are underestimating the other siblings here.
Ineos set to enter final talks with Glazers unless Qataris up bid
It's a world record bid compared to what other sporting institutions have sold for. There are no reports - at least that I've seen - that say Ineos bid is higher, just that they value the club higher. And United hasn't been sold to Ineos yet, again, it's a record compared to what other sporting institutions have sold for.
Again, I didn't fever dream "world record bid". Here:

That Times report:
It's not over yet. I'm still holding hope
Do you think the Glazers would at any point turn down more money?Surely they can't just keep firing in more bids. What was the point of this long drawn out process with deadlines and all?
That's an article which said the bid was over 5b. I thought it turned out to be le was than that. Either way, to continue this fairly tedious point, there can only be one World record at a time as far as I'm concerned.
It’s tiring is what it is. Nothing is stopping another rival coming in with their first and best that takes the club as well.Surely they can't just keep firing in more bids. What was the point of this long drawn out process with deadlines and all?
Always has been. The fate of our club is about to be decided by rich mens' ego
We know the media reported it. The media is sensationalizing, though, because they aren't bidding for the other 31%.It's a world record bid compared to what other sporting institutions have sold for. I have seen this a few times now and I just don't get it how does it make any sense. So if Qataris take over, Old Trafford will suddenly turn into lifeless Emptyhad or what? How is that supposed to work?I'd be happy if Ratcliffe were to win out. I know a lot of people don't think it'd happen, but I for one think we'd become pretty soulless under state ownership. As successful as they are, having been to City's ground recently to watch a game I really don't want us to become what they are. It was without doubt the most lifeless footballing experience I've ever had.
Having said all that, I still think we're going to see one more offer made by Qatar. I also wouldn't be surprised if to some extent the Glazers are still testing to see if they can get more out of Sheikh Jassim.
Why would Ratcliffe spend billions on a football club, only to use it to service hundreds of millions of debt, when he already owns a company worth significantly more than every Premier league club combined? He'd be crippling our chances of success and limiting any chance of raising the value of the club. Unless of course everyone is narrow minded to believe any new owner will operate the same way as the Glazers. Not that that way of thinking makes any sense either. The Glazers are small time compared with Ineos
United wayAlways has been.
It means they are picking Ratcliffe to enter into final negotiations basically. That was always going to be the next step, picking the final party to do this with. Not sure how that is an update. The Glazers and their bankers are willing to discuss the details of a sale, I mean what exactly have they been doing for the last two weeks since the final bids came in? Do the Glazers not have a phone number for Raine or is it perhaps just the general customer service number and they have been in a queue for 2 weeks being told how important their call is to Raine and a representative will be with them shortly.
