What does that even mean

It's not a transfer dude
Come now, don’t play dumb.
Firstly, nobody is handing the Glazers 5bn for anything. They will receive their percentage.
Secondly, it makes not a bit of difference if the buyer pays the whole 69%now, or 51% now and the rest in coming years. You know that, but you seem to be in denial about the whole turn of events and rather than conversing in good faith you choose one liners and put downs to deflect from the arguement.
However you choose to frame it, Sir Jim has come up with an offer that competes with the Qatar offer, and even beats it on total club valuation. It remains to be seen whether that means it is truly more attractive to the Glazers or not. Theirs is the only opinion that truly matters in this whole saga (especially when you consider that Raine advised a preferred bidder in the last round and they forced the process to a third round) and remember there are 6 of them with a say - not just 2.

My guess is that Qatar will ultimately outbid Ineos - they just don't want to bid massively more than Sir Jim to get the job done. And suddenly we become a state owned vehicle for sportswashing but hey, I'm sure that's more palatable than two of the Glazers retaining a small minority shareholding and having no say in any business or sporting decision ever again.

Qatari bid is higher than SJR.

SJR is bidding for a smaller percentage but majority voting rights which makes his bid VALUE, the club more.

It’s all very confusing but that’s what I think it is. Q
That's correct yes. Quite normal to do this in business too I have read.

No it’s not. The whole sale process is based on enterprise valuation of the whole business. The INEOS bid values the business higher, therefore he has bid more, but for a smaller amount. Agree it’s confusing, but on face value the INEOS bid is more attractive.

How am I in denial? Which posts specifically suggest this?

I have said JR can't match SJ so has come up with a compromise as one last attempt to beat them.

They have literally put more money on the table mate

Yeah and it's worked a treat for him but alienated him with the fanbase straight away

Not necessarily. The club's value has increased significantly since 2013.
They are aiming for a value of £10bn. Safe to say if we end up tripling our current market cap and doubling the offered price in the next decade then something must go right with the team. The two of them aren’t sticking around for 20 years just to double their shares, that’s awful returns from an investment standpoint.

And neither are matching the Glazer’s long stated demands.

They won't come back with another bid, just move on to buying scousers/Spurs

Why are you posting this stuff Berba?

These people are a tiny minority of Utd fans. The Glazers wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire - they are an irrelevance.

The vast majority of fans will get behind a majority Ratcliffe ownership for sure.

Why are you actually here?

They won't. They had their chance.

And the Glazers wouldn't have any say anyway regardless of who buys us.

True. So probably the most likely scenario probably is it is being dragged out further.
The only scenarios are:

i) no sale,
ii) the Glazer’s accept the offer which provides them with the most money,
iii) minority investment.

And going by the recent reports the Qatari bid isn’t the second option there.

We won't unless those leeches feck off

Reportedly, his offer is flexible and he would also be willing to acquire 69%, like Qatar. So he will outbid Qatar's current offer, due to the current higher overall valuation...if Glazers decide to sell everything in the end...but that decision could be followed by a new (4th?) round of biddings, even though both bidders feel like it's time to make a decision.

"Hello Raine Group, no we don't care if Jassim has offered $500 million more now, we are honorable businessmen and will stick to our self-imposed deadline. Tell Qatar to feck off"

Kaveh the Qatari PR manager said ‘take it or leave it’. That doesn’t sound like they are minded to increase their offer.

Sadly not true, however, in my opinion a 4th round of bidding is looking pretty unlikely at the moment.

I think that was probably the point of this phase to get them to drive their bid up but they obviously just aren’t interested or maybe haven’t budgeted for any more.

Based on what we’re hearing am expecting INEOS will emerge as preferred bidder next week, if /when they do I think they will start leaking more positive PR. There are a lot of negative assumptions about their bid which they’ll want to negate if they can.
