Club Sale | It’s done!

That takes a huge chunk of 'potential and future revenue' the Glazers were hoping to add to the sale price. Also probably rules out a bunch of Yank investors, which is a good thing.

Yep. Will put off some of the US groups you'd think (or least drive down the value of their offers).

The fact Avram is over there, coupled with Becks being still out there too leads me to believe the Qatari's are coming.

They would undoubtedly want some controls in place.

That's a good question. Potential investors might be persuaded if they think that either, a) they have a clear route to full control/ownership or, b) they can grow the value of their chunk of the club and sell it off in 5+ years.

What does this actually look like in reality? I'm finding it difficult to split the club up like you have there.

There's always a hand over, and we can do a lot worse in the commercial side of things, my worry is that the correct sporting people won't be appointed again.
Same for me. But Arnold is in charge of appointing all employees, so that's what worries me from that point of view.

Ten Hags comments fills me with confidence, it tells me the takeover is already far down the line

Also close proximity to other potential buyers from UAE and KSA. Easier to hide going to see any potential investors in the area with the WC still going.

Certainly sounds that way doesn't it.
Otherwise it'd be a bit risky for a manager to essentially be saying that he wants the current owners to disappear as they're holding him back!

Also a bit of an interesting view bearing in mind he has actually just been allowed to whop a tonne of wad this summer!

If Amazon buy us they will finally be able to do a documentary series on us instead of slumming round smaller teams

That price seems way too high when you consider what Chelsea were sold for and what Liverpool are aiming for.

Chelsea were sold for 2.5, Liverpool are aiming for 3.0, why would you spend 6 to 7 billion on United?

The idea that a company like Apple or Amazon would buy the club is pure fan fiction stuff!

It wouldn't make good brand/business sense for them to attach ownership to one football club. It would cause fans of other clubs to stop using them if they knew that they were effectively funding United!

If Amazon/Apple buy Liverpool, would you honestly carry on buying their products?

This is utter bollocks.

No it wouldn’t  you think all United fans in England just stopped using 3 when they sponsored Chelsea? Maybe one or two deranged nutters care about that stuff but the vast majority won’t give a shit.

My guess is that it's the Qataris.
Ditching PSG in the process?

I mean, that must be quite unfulfilling. United would obviously be a better project for them, and allow them to go toe to toe with City.

Don't see it though

I would assume it would be a “different” entity owning both. Similar to Salzburg and Leipzig.

Definitely a lot of feckery afoot. Assuming Qatar did want to buy us, they'd have to use a shell company to do it.

Will be fascinating to see how this all plays out.

Any idea why Avram is in Qatar ?

Don't buy it that he's over there enjoying the world cup, we know he isn't exactly a fan of football.

I wouldn't cancel my prime, music and audible subscriptions just because Liverpool were owned by Amazon, no. Just as I wouldn't replace my Android phone with an iPhone if they were owned by Google. That's tribalism taken to excessive levels of silliness

100% would still use those companies. It's absolutely baffling not to.

The UAE T20 cricket league starts next month and Avram owns a team. Could well be in the Middle East for that reason and, if you're in the UAE, why not pop over to Qatar.

I'm sure there will be some sales pitches going on, perhaps not to the Qataris directly (they reportedly aren't interested in acquiring Premier League clubs), but there will be a lot of wealthy investors out there.
