He was also talking about Jim being a stalking horse yesterday.Jacobs seems to suggest that they can
Who will own us. Do they have the capacity to service £5b worth of debt without using money we generate?By INEOS
Quite possibleWell it’s over 1bn short of a valuation that’s already 700m short of the asking price. It seems rather significant to me. I don’t see how they’d just up it if they haven’t so far 3 bids in. Plus they never mentioned this in their briefs - they were promising a total of 8bn because of how much they wanted the club when the debt and investment was factored in - seems like this whole thing has been a PR exercise.
Yeah I've decided in my own mind now to just not really believe anything coming out in the next few days unless official. A lot of PR and games are being played out.He was also talking about Jim being a stalking horse yesterday.
How the feck any one of these journos can claim to be ITK now is a joke
There's zero chance they're not going to allow Qatar to bid more. Sorry lads, we're shut, take yourself over to Liverpool instead
No, I just can't stand the thought of us being owned by Qatar. I'd rather be shit than be a sportswashing vehicle for such a regime. So I'm elated. You must be a rival fan whose seem the great job Ratcliff has done at his Swiss and French clubs.
We absolutely don’t know that, nothing has been confirmed about how INEOS will fund their bid. It’s just presumed by doom mongers like yourself. The Glazers are staying on and we know he can’t afford 100% of the club and will be buying on debt
But yeah nothing to see here ffs
What's the reports saying? How could he misread spending £6b?Possible. But if the reports are true Jassim has really misread the situation.
Kind of embarrassing by Jassim. Is he really that naive?

If the reports are true it'll be interesting to see people back pedalling from all the Brexit Jim and RATcliffe nonsense.Possible. But if the reports are true Jassim has really misread the situation.
I was listening to Ben Jacobs there and he was saying that Qatar considers Ratcliffe a minority investor.I do wonder if the Qataris have called the Glazers bluff here.
According to reports they are the only ones bidding for a full take over.
Let’s be cynical and assume that Avram and Joel’s sudden love for the club they have shown no interest in the last 18 years, the club whose fans have actively protested their family every match for over a decade and who they’ve received the occasional death thread from has just been a negotiation tactic.
As far fetched that it might be that considering they have always been football people…
SJR’s offer is on the table and it’s enough to buy out the other four.
Avram and Joel are left as minority owners with no say over how things are run. They have no say if they are paid dividends. They have no say if SJR suddenly goes all Boehly and runs the club into the ground.
Or, they say to their siblings they want the sale split evenly because they don’t really want to stay and the other siblings have no appetite for retaining minority shares.
The Qataris while lower per share, are offering to buy all the shares and perhaps all the Glazers ever wanted.

Will still be true no?If the reports are true it'll be interesting to see people back pedalling from all the Brexit Jim and Ratcliffe nonsense.
FixedYeah I've decided in my own mind now to just not really believe anything that does not agree with my POV in the next few days. A lot of PR and games are being played out.
Doubt he knows much about this.Kind of embarrassing by Jassim. Is he really that naive?
I read it differently. If you believe Jacobs then there really isn't that much between the two bids, relatively. You would imagine if that is the case Qatar will at least match Ratcliffe
You are laughableFixed
They know jack shit about actual valuations and his explanation about confusion about Qatari's bid being deemed higher than it actually was, was quite flimsy at best .He was also talking about Jim being a stalking horse yesterday.
How the feck any one of these journos can claim to be ITK now is a joke
Expect this to swing back and forthSeems like there's some wild feckery going on here, so many mixed reports.
Doubt he knows much about this.
Glad you enjoyed the jokeYou are laughable
So, according to Ben Jacobs, it seems that Jassim's bid is c. £800m (the amount he has pledged for investment) short of that of Ineos/SJR.
Jassim has included the £800m investment in his offer (which pads out his final bid up to just over £5bn), while the Ineos/SJR bid is £5bn straight (without investment figures to top it up).
If true, Qatar are toast.
He’s still a Brexiteering Tory and INEOS are still a petrochemical company. I don’t think people are going to backtrack - most of us disassociate the owners from the club.If the reports are true it'll be interesting to see people back pedalling from all the Brexit Jim and Ratcliffe nonsense.
Yep, we'll get something resembling the truth by the end of the weekend when something actually happensExpect this to swing back and forth
a third round gave them a chance to improve their bidOkay? Why did Raine group take them to the third round if they were 800m short of INEOS?
Doesn’t add up.
Avram and Joel will sell Tampa Bay Bucaneers and buy back the shares from Sir Jim
Forgot to capitalise the RAT in Ratcliffe. Will still be true no?
Yeah, it's all very questionable at the moment. Probably best to step back for a few days and wait for actual news.Forgot to capitalise the RAT in Ratcliffe.
Although I do find the suggestion that a serious bidder in the third round of a multi-billion dollar takeover process has only now revealed what their bid actually pertains to...to be a bit silly to say the least.
