I want to see his vision/commitment for the club.

At this moment in time it feels like the worst possible outcome. He needs to come forward and reassure fans of his plans on both the stadium situation, commitment to transfers and debt accumulated with this bid

Did anybody see his plans for Chelsea when he bid?
I've been very opposed to United becoming a state tool for sports-washing and more positive about the INEOS bid (which I think people would have been supportive of a year ago before the option of a state buying us Mbappe became plausible) but this is a fair comment. It's understandable that some people are quite down on the bid given the information, or lack thereof, to this point although I think a lot of the doom-mongering and hysteria is very premature.

Why do people react to speculation like it's fact? It's annoying. You read comments and think there's been a development but it's just a rumour one bid was higher than the other

"Oh so that's that then!"

It's hard to see how oil state clubs don't end up running the league for the foreseeable. Without Qatar, we are going to need incredibly astute ownership to have us regularly compete.

People need to realise Qatar have committed about 6.5B -7B to the club with their bid and plans

Nobody on the planet is or will ever offer anywhere near that including Jim with his 69% bid on borrowed money

He can commit all he likes, if he doesn't offer enough to buy the club it's all hot air.

Think you’ve missed something here mate.
The club needs the Glazers to be wiped clean from board completely. Now or never. If this INEOS deal goes through, we will never be free from the Glazers. 18 years at our club and what do they have to show?

Worst come Worst Glazer's would have minority stake I would take that as a win , anyway nothing is decided yet so I wouldn't rule out any outcome . Thing is apart from Glazer's , Raine , Ineos and Qatari's nobody actually knows what's happening everybody saw the farce of Second round bids reporting .

That's the fear...

Liverpool has a lot of the same issues that we have, though (facilities requiring significant investment). So I could see a similar situation where a debt financed bid for FSG to feck off beats a bid for full control + promised capital investment.
Their stadium is in better condition IIRC and they have no debt. They're also cheaper and previously Qatar refused to pay up.

If they do it now, some of the moral brigade on here need to be asked about their opinion a few years down the line when we're languishing in 7th.

He needs to speak soon after this Glazers collab, and have some mint aces up his sleeve

But are they getting more or less from the Jassim bid? These reports aren't clear to me.

The report says that Ineos offer is higher but they are also purchasing less which could be for a simple reason which is that Ineos are buying out all the Glazers, one way for it to be true could be that for example Joel and Avram are taking far less than their siblings in exchange of shares. I'm making figures up but imagine a scenario where the other siblings get 1bn each while Joel and Avram get 200m each but also get shares of the club, that offer for 67% would be superior to anything under 6bn.

FFS so the Glazers stay.. The question is, how much worse is this for us now compared to only Glazers?

Vanorama North Runners Up in 2031.

Can't wait. Bit of luck and Will Wheaton will have launched his aggressive takeover bid by then.

What he’s offered should be more than enough that’s my point. These cnuts don’t want to go and that’s been reported since week 1

I find it odd how Jim's offer would be higher than Sheikh Jassim.

Either the latter was never as serious or Mike Keegan is clickbaiting by not actually disclosing the proper details of the bid. It could be the Glazers see more profit from Jassims offer within the bid structure.

It's only more than enough if it actually beats the other bid. "Should be" doesn't come into it.

Qatars bid has though that’s the point

Like it’s been said a million times they’ve committed 7B to the club whilst Jim is buying 69% on borrowed money

The money Qatar have offered Jim won’t get anywhere near paying in probably 10 years at the club
Do you have a link to them directly committing 7b to the club?

I believe that SJR has bid only on buying the 4 siblings that want to leave.

If you don't think they are going to use us to pay that debt you are very naïve.

Why would they? It doesn't make any sense at all for them to do so.

Ineos can refinance the debt at a much, much lower interest rate than the club can so why wouldn't they just do that, of they don't just pay it off? Why would they actively choose to make themselves worse off?

Do you think they're stupid? That they fluked their way to being worth £60bn?

Can people stop pushing this nonsense line from now on? Thanks.

It’s been reported by every Tom dick and harry that they’re willing to clear debts and commit to the stadium for months I don’t need to link you anything

Why all the sudden Ratcliffe energy ? Has something happened ?

Jim's committed to relegation, dying, trillions in debt and keeping the Glazers involved but actually running the club with their 1% stake...

According to posters here

We can't take all that is being reported at face value. Lots of games being played in the media
I actually don't care who ends up owning United as long as Glazers aren't running it . But your point about not taking reports on face value is spot on .

Thanks. Seems like no one actually knows anything until something more substantial is released.

We’ll it’s the guy from the MEN who’s been the number 1 source thus far reporting it along with most of the major Uk news outlets but sure

There aren't any leaks. These people have NOTHING to gain from leaking. In fact risk reputational damage if they do. We only know Ratcliffe and Qatar bids because they went public.

Leaks coming out like a well respected venture capital finance group are acting like a third division manager dropping the nod to the local hack the goalie pulled his bollocks so its out of the match on Saturday, should be taken with a truck of salt

Seems like the perfect example to highlight their track record of promises. It was even initially based on a lie, much like their claimed private bidder for United.

The decision to move the World Cup to the winter was made by FIFA’s executive committee. The rest of the World Cup was delivered at a level never seen before. It raised the bar. It is not a valid argument.

Who said that?

Sorry to be the one to tell you this but Tom, Dick and especially Harry.... Bluffers mate, absolute chancers.

Honestly, be very wary of that Harry. Cannot be trusted.
