Club Sale | It’s done!

Yeah most likely. As long as it’s done for preseason I’ll be happy. We can’t let this drag on and disrupt our summer transfer plans.

May already have done that so yet again Erik is being shited on in a window. Was the boards fault we didn't get Antony cheaper

1. Wembley Stadium (London) (capacity 90,652)

2. Principality Stadium (Cardiff) (73,952)

3. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (London) (62,322)

4. Etihad Stadium (Manchester) (61,000)

5. Everton Stadium (Liverpool) (52,679)

6. St James' Park (Newcastle) (52,305)

7. Villa Park (Birmingham) (52,190)

8. Hampden Park (Glasgow) (52,032)

9. Aviva Stadium (Dublin) (51,711)

10. Casement Park (Belfast) (34,500)
They haven't even broke ground on Casement Park!

Getting rid of the glazers and getting the right owner is more important than any transfer window

So you see it picking up pace then
The options that were purchased on the stock end on June 26th so I would say we'll know by early June what's going to happen. They might do another round of bidding yet (4th), I wouldn't be surprised if they did, but the longer they keep the process going the more likely we will ultimately see a sale at the end.

Also, you would think new owners would want to have some say in the summer recruitment and not have the Glazers involved in spending that money with their track record, and they also won't want to be involved in the process as it affects the sale price in the end.

It will be fairly slow until it's not anymore. Once they accept an offer it will move super fast before someone gets cold feet.

Hope neither Ratcliffe/Jassim get cold feet or were you more referring to Glazers

The issue is that the construction should have been done already not that it might be getting done and the fact it wasn't/isn't likely being done under their stewardship of the club
I get that but he states it’s an embarrassment to the club. It’s nothing of the sort. The Glazers are rightly blamed, castigated and should be ashamed personally but this cannot reflect poorly on the club.

The buyers, it’s a lot of money to part with so as soon as the Glazers give the green light their bank accounts will be emptied within the hour and the Galzers will already be on a private plane out of there.

this sale needs to get closed as soon as possible. If it takes thru the summer and we have a shambolic transfer window because of that it would be crushing for EtH next season. Already a paper thin squad as is with holes in key spots. Eriksen and Case will just be another year older in midfield with still no help. We need to really ship players out and bring a huge new batch in if we really want to push on for titles.

If this sale gets delayed beyond the transfer window, then we will do very little in the summer transfer. It will basically be sell to buy and by the time we’ve probably scarcely raised £60-70m for 7 or 8 players leaving, we might if we are lucky get one CFW either R Hojlund or E Ferguson, both should be our second striker. Antony Martial and M Greenwood will be kept whatever fans think of the latter and we will try and pick up Adrien Rabiot Free for midfield reinforcements. That will be it however if SJR or SJ offer a final offer and that’s not accepted, both will pull out of the negotiating the sale with the Glaziers

The club have £300m in revolving credit facilities with Bank of America that they can (and most likely will) use for transfers this summer (albeit not in full) - see below from the club's last quarterly report:

"Depending on the terms of the agreement, transfer fees may be paid or received by us in multiple installments, resulting in deferred cash paid or received. Although we have not historically drawn on our revolving facilities during the summer transfer window, if we seek to acquire players with values substantially in excess of the values of players we seek to sell, we may be required to utilize cash available from our revolving facilities to meet our cash needs."

Essentially, it's 'sell to buy' this summer and any transfer fees that are substantially above what we manage to get for Maguire, Martial, Telles et al will come from the credit facility.

So another transfer window under the glazers?
Hopefully not. With any luck both INEOS and 92F are being proactive and have a list of targets ready to go - so if they come in after the window is opened they can work efficiently to sort the key positions.
They will have until September to get players in and I hope to god this sale is done before then!

Embarrassing? Because it will potentially be under construction in ‘28? I don’t see it myself.
Nobody has said OT is not good enough. Let’s not let that get in the way of a ABU narrative though, eh Ducker?
ABU narrative my arse…..anything negative is ABU yeah?

Sometimes the most simplistic and logical answers make the most sense….

5 years to rebuild or redevelop the stadium? Didn’t it take spurs like 1 year?

Two different things imho.
1) Credit facility is there to pay: installments and/or signing etc.
2) outgoings will define how much total we can afford.

no one pays full transfer fees in the same year, so credit facility are not that crucial. what is crucial is abide by FFP. hence sell to buy is accurate.

“An embarrassment for England’s biggest football club/biggest club ground”
Doesn’t say ‘shame on the Glazers’ does it? Everybody loves sticking the boot into Utd, it’s nothing new or revolutionary.

The neglect of the stadium is arguably the biggest indictment of the Glazers ownership.

How this takeover back in 2005 was allowed to happen is nothing short of scandalous, the club will only truly recover when they are finally gone.

It’s obvious he’s referring to the Glazers tbh. Of course it’s embarrassing for the club, unfortunately the clubs owned by these parasites who’ve put the embarrassment on us by neglecting the stadium for the last 18 years.

We sometimes do pay full fees in the year of the transfer. If there is a release clause, we'll pay it up front in one go. Maguire was paid for in a single hit, rather than installments. Cashflow may well be important this summer.

And we all know to blame for that........

I mean he says it without saying it
Ok, whatever. This isn’t a hill I’m going to die on - it just seemed unnecessary to brand our stadium being rebuilt and out of action an ‘embarrassment’.
