Club ownership | Senior management team talk

Luckhurst is very rarely proven to be right about anything. Wait for others to report it.

Others, The Athletic included, may report it (with caveats) as it's United, the Glazers and therefore the reddest of red rags.

Hot slurpy scoop to set off the weekend rush.

I'm still really optimistic with what they're doing on the playing side of things.

Know it's not been smooth sailing in their first season but they're doing well with the sales/loans and recruitment overall.

I see the shape here of a strategy. Offload all unnecessary outlay, including overpaid underachieving squad members. Tailor incomings to budget and coach. Win time by investing in youth, creating a sense of an overall strategy. Exciting young talent, footballing identity defined, dressing room discipline established. Effort rewarded, and elite standards established. It’s a framework they expect to reap rewards over 3/5 year project.

Surely all the naysayers have to give INEOS some brownie points for getting Rashford out the door?

Twitter says Mount has been told the club want rid in summer. Luke Shaw better hope he has a good run between now and end of the season.

I just can't get over the fact that we are finally selling/loaning out players.

I'm so used to the fools that used to be in charge giving out enormous contracts to useless and/or permanently injured players to protect their "asset value".

It's a real breath of fresh air to see the likes of Antony/Rashford/Sancho being shown the door.

Can people seriously stop posting this guy. His posts are full of prove-able falsehoods and he ignores every tweet that calls him out for it. The club’s accounts and heck even Deloitte’s reports show what a fraud he is. Our wage bill is nowhere near that low. Just a glance at our recent Q1 report on the club’s investor relations website will show you.

Just take a look at what he predicted our revenue and EBITDA would be for this year (then compare it to the actual numbers from the club’s accounts, spoiler alert, he was off by a long long way). Also look at how much this clown said we could spend without breaking PSR (spoiler alert, he was off by a few hundred million for this year alone). Stop giving this guy any attention. He’s nothing but a troll.

Agree. It's like a parody of Swiss Ramble who actually knows what he's taking about.

Must say it’s refreshing to see us sign young talents again: Yoro, Chido Obi, Heaven and with Tel now in the mix as well.
Outs have been good as well, only Casemiro I really want out now to free up the wage bill.
However, we should be in the marked for an established striker, loan if need be.
If we keep Garna + get Tel I’ll give the window 8/10 considering our dire economic situation.

Those numbers are not correct. Real wage bill is much higher.

Almost 371m at last accounting date IIRC. Maybe that includes operational staff too.

I would go with Swiss Rambles numbers tbh

Doesn't the bloke who runs that twitter account also post on here?

Everything that's happening on the pitch reflects a real lack of direction off of it.

It's incompetence to look at our squad, understand the constraints FFP places on us, and go for a dogmatic coach whose ideals and strengths are the opposite of your current playing staff.

The fact that they went for Amorim shows they lack the understanding of the problem to correctly address it. If they honestly thought just sacking Ten Hag and hiring Amorim, with one of two signings, would lead to significant improvement in results it says a lot.

If Jason Wilcox really did do a full breakdown of our squad last season, how can he really have thought a dogmatic 343 coach would mesh well with our playing staff?

Nobody is coming out of the current situation looking good.

Just absolutely excellent work to get rid of two attacking players and sign nobody to replace them. As long as the balance sheet looks better.

We should have had various options for what to do if Rashford leaves this window ready and primed.

Just feels like a real lack of planning.

Just cos it’s not reported, doesn’t mean the planning hasn’t been done.

We’ve also seen links to the likes of Tel, Nkunku, David, and Bailey. Let’s see what happens tomorrow.

As it stands Garnacho as the out and out more natural left sided player, Bruno / Mainoo have no real position in this system and Amad who's more influential as a wingback given the extra space he has.

They have absolutely failed Amorim and I'll render judgement that they are useless. You don't bring in a new manager with such a drastic change in philosophy then underperform in bringing him reinforcements when the club are hovering above 15th.

It's absolutely pathetic.

Why are we getting rid of Rashford and Anthony if nobody is coming in? Are they taking the piss?

Wheres the goals?

Youd be better off sacking Amorim and bringing someone else in.

Don't worry, there'll be a briefing about a transfer warchest for the summer window along any minute now.

What I find an utter disgrace is the lack of direction with INEOS. Communication is the language of leadership, so why have they briefed journalists on the obtuse transfer window but said nothing of their commitment and intention for Amorim.

Amorim is 100% accountable for the majority of results but they've given him a terrible hand to work with. They are useless.
