Club ownership | Senior management team talk

Oh dear, you sound a bit upset! Don't worry, I usually feel a little emotional around this time of the month too. Maybe sleep off the pints and reply again tomorrow when your logic is a bit sharper. I'll help you out by pointing out the cognitive dissonance at play.

You chant against Ratcliffe/Glazers and their price hike, but will still continue to fork over your cash to them and make sure Old Trafford is nice and full for the World to see. Brilliant strategy there. At this point, The Glazers and their Rat should mandate you all wear tutus into the stadium. I'm sure they'd get a good kick out of watching the jolly boys proudly twirling at the turnstiles, pint in hand, singing the same old songs.

Nothing changes when nothing changes.

Embarrassingly short memories from United fans, no clue whatsoever about the clubs' finances, everybody still thinks we are in the mid 2010s with a lot of money to burn. These same people would have been complaining if the club failed to meet PSR regulations. Yes, INEOS have made mistakes with keeping ETH (Ashworth's decision) and they have rightly fixed it even though it cost us money, I'll remind people of the poll on CAF where 80% were ETH in, had journos like Andy Mitten showing his twitter polls to ETH about the strong support from United fans but now in hindsight everyone says it was the wrong decision and will pretend they wouldn't have thrown their toys out if he was sacked.

- People keep forgetting INEOS have actually put money into the club (300m) without which we would have failed to comply with the max allowable losses in a 3-year period.
- Invested 50m into Carrington for the first time in ages.
- Actually, doing something about the stadium.
These are just financial things; they have changed a lot of the footballing structure too but only time will tell if they made the right moves.

Things are far from perfect but we were left in a terrible position, if they made these cuts and ticket price increases when the finances were actually in the green, I would have lots of reasons to be angry but they weren't and INEOS have to take the fall for the Glazers incompetence.

It better to take corrective action than none at all, so many fans giving the Glazers a pass (worse than Glazers smh), forgetting the reason why we are in this situation in the first place. Everyone loves a moan; nobody stops to think for a second.
Agreed.

Knocking matchgoing fans is guaranteed to win you no friends and just makes you look a bit of a prat, mate.

Yeah completely agree with you, this is not helpful at all. Getting a chance to speak to him, and then waste it by yelling at him is beyond moronic.
I would like some of our older match going fans to have a calm sit down and talk with him. That might help. This does nothing.

He wouldn't give a feck either.

The only way to make someone like him listen is by hitting him in his pockets.

The fans seem to have a personal problem with SJR. As others have pointed out, Ineos is much better than the Glazers and they are the reason for our situation, not Ineos. And they dont know how close we were to a cardiac arrest

Yes and others wanted Qatar in, they keep using the statement thinking the debt would have been cleared, when they couldn't deliver proof of funds.

The one thing we all wanted 2 years ago when it looked like there is no getting away from the Glazers was investment in infrastructure.

INEOS are doing that, they have got a plan to deliver a new stadium, improvements in the training ground and a structure has been installed.

We can all dream about some state buying us out, clearing the debt, etc. But there is a reason no one bid or wanted to take over the club. The mess the Glazer created is a huge black hole and Ineas tries to fix it, and this will be quite hard and obviously painful. But so much better than just keeping up with the Glazers, as they would have bankrupted the club and refused investments

Exactly, fans see a letter on X thinking that is exactly what a state owned club would do, when they couldn't even put their money where their mouth was to buy the club..

It is obvious how long and painful this process was going to be, it was never going to get fixed in 7 months. The people who think it was a light switch, new owners and all the problems will be fixed are deluded and dont know how bad the finances are.

It isn't hard to see, when you spend almost double the transfer fee and double the wages of what players should be on, there will be a massive financial burden on the club which it can no longer carry.

Berrada said 2028, and it looks like that is a realistic time line, even though we dont like that obviously. But fans need to realize the Glazers have epically fecked up

Have they put funds in though?

They've made the Glazers richer, sure, but it's done nothing for the club's financial position.
They've made two cash injections since the initial deal (earmarked for infrastructure, such as the training facilities, etc).

Admittedly they translate into additional equity, but they definitely have supported the financial position.

Why does that look realistic to challenge in 2028? There is nothing to suggest that this gets better from here
That's a bit shortsighted, imo. In 2028, we will have 2 more transfer windows and if the club does not collapse completely and invest wisely, we could be much stronger in 2-3 years

Could be definitely but you said it looks a realistic timeline, I'm not here to just criticise you I just wonder what you have seen that gives you that confidence? Even this morning Romano suggesting we are going back to the table with more than 34m Euro's for Dorgu rather than just pay less than half of that and get Fernandez in who if he didn't work could still get a decent fee in a few years when brought in at that price. Looks like we are overpaying again...

Do people realise that SJR is cost cutting and increasing ticket prices to be able to give Amorim more money to spend on players and wages? The debt was inherited. He did not put it on the club. Why would he clear it when he only owns 25%?

Yeah but what about Sheik Jasim...blah blah....Does Sheik Jasim actually exist? Has anyone every seen him apart from that single photo?

I feel like SJR is trying to turn things round but is now the figurehead of hate for what the glazers have done.

This wouldn’t do a thing. He doesn’t care who you are or if you’ve had a season ticket for decades. You’ll be easily replaced by one of the other 100,000 on the waiting list and he knows it.
Ratcliffe upping ticket prices for us fans to help pay off debts is disgusting. Many of us have spent our money, season after season, game after game, watching this club perform like crap for 12 years and now he’s making us match going fans help pay off the clubs debt. The guys a absolute Bell.

He wouldn’t give a feck mate. He doesn’t give two shits about the club or its fans.

Well maybe we needed the cardiac arrest to force through a full sale. Thanks to this arrangement we are stuck with the Glazers.

Yet to see them do anything that's 'much better' than the Glazers. They've been as much a clown fiesta as we've been before, with the added bonus of increased ticket prices, staff redundancies and no Christmas parties
You wouldn't say that retooling the management structure with some of the top names around is much better than the previous lot? And using a cancelled Christmas party as a stick to beat them?! Come on now...
Because they spend their hard earned week in and week out to go show their support (or otherwise). For some internet fan to actually blame matchgoing fans as a major part of the problem (not to say anything about the high handed, dismissive tone of the post) is tone-deaf and dense.

Until that management structure does anything proving their top name status, no. It's exactly the same so far

So what you're saying is that you've yet to see anything that's 'much better' because they've not yet had time to do anything that's 'much better'?

They did have time to be amateurish, so there's that. Very happy to be proven wrong down the line, but they really don't deserve the credit they're getting so far

I really don't think they're getting much credit so far, are they? Most posts I have seen about them are actually very critical as opposed to positive...

Recently yes. But at the time they where coming in they got a lot of goodwill, hope and huge expectations.

No great surprise, given that it was viewed as the first step towards getting rid of the glazers. The shine has been taken off that now though and, as I said, I really don't think they're currently getting much credit at all.

He wouldn't give a feck either.

The only way to make someone like him listen is by hitting him in his pockets.

Definitely not. The way to get at him is to do exactly what we have done to the Glazers. Fill Old Trafford every single match day and sing mean songs about him. It worked then and it will work now! Oh wait...

Looks like they wouldn't have sold that easily. Hence there was no other buyer. It is delusional to believe someone wanted to buy the club and wipe the debt out

It is more hope, but me personally I trust Berrada and Amorim. Ineos might do a few good moves financially too, so let's see
