Club ownership | Senior management team talk

Not sure you'd feel the same doing a deeper level of analysis beyond revenues.

The commerical team is one of the worst I've ever seen in any industry. Antiquated, inconsistent, incoherent , and out of touch. No meaningful or novel growth strategy.

It's telling that once the on-field success slowed we've become a full on financial disaster.
You are using words, forming sentences. I like it.
I'd be interested in hearing about your deeper level of analysis beyond revenues.
How do we compare with other clubs? Are there less successful clubs (on the pitch) in football with bigger commercial incomes?
I am sure the club is all for developing a more modern, fresh, consistent, and coherent approach to generating commercial income, so I am sure they might appreciate the benefit of your insights. Didn't the CEO not asks fans to provide ideas as to how the club might grow its income?

Frustrating, isn't it? Every time a group of fans tries to protest or otherwise take action, no matter how small, lots of posters immediately pop up here to countersignal and ridicule their efforts.
Yes as I suggested a protest idea in that thread I got " It's groundhog day again". I've suggested an extended mass toilet break, coming back after half time as late as possible and then leaving after say 15 mins of the second half.
Also every ST holder is as silent as possible all through the game. Cheer them onto the pitch but then silence.
If thousands of ST holders do the temporarily missing things they won't be able to do much about it.
You're going to the game so how can they do anything?

If he was the "right call" someone else would have signed him in the summer. They didn't, they all turned away from him.
I read somewhere that the reason turned away from him was because they needed at least 400 million to implement his style of play. If Liverpool with current players need 400 million, I wonder how much Man Utd need?

Shame you're not forming proper paragraphs. :smirk:

The only way you hurt them is in the pocket. The leeches have proved they are bomb proof to protests in the past.
Stop paying to watch them. Stop paying for merchandise. This is the only language they know.

Is this guy really the best person to be in the media representing United fans ?

The '1958' lad sounded completely out of his depth, there.

Comparing the current plight to the Munich Air Disaster was correctly scrutinised.

Well, to be fair, it sounds like the 1958 statement said it was the worst crisis since Munich, which could well be true.

The statement wasn't trying to say it was comparable. But the fact that he didnt make that point and just rolled over to Jordan and said "oh, we didnt word that too well" tells me he isnt the smartest cookie.

Plus, Jordan said re the rules about leveraged buyouts would have not stopped the Glazers today given they loaned a billion back then and could do the same today given a billion is under the 20% of the club that can be loaned. Not accounting for the fact the club is valued at 5 x what it was then. So where would they get the rest of the money Mr Jordan? Again, 1958 not able to call him out.

For someone who is organizing protests, he doesn't have much fight in him.

Absolute clown show.

I hate to say this because he’s generally an absolute cockwomble, but Simon Jordan is spot on here and I agree with every word.

Listening to this guy speak I can’t tell if he’s just pissed about price increases or if they are the sort who just want something/anything to be angry about.

Comparing our financial situation to Munich would be laughable if it wasn’t so disgustingly ill thought out. Shame.

I think his premise is that he wants people to be angry about the job cuts and potential season ticket price increases.

No one wants to see people lose their jobs or for the price of anything to go up, but its the way of the world.

If the business side of United can run with 20% less people, then why would INEOS not want to trim the fat? Businesses get bloated and when times are good, the budgets get opened up to new hires but when times are tight, the cloth has to be cut accordingly.

And i dont believe United are cutting people without any idea on that they are doing like Musk and Trump are doing to federal workers in the US.

And ticket prices will inevitably rise, unfortunately. Everything else has in life. It is just harder to take when the product on the field is so poor.
Even if we were coming off a treble, the 1958 would complain about a price rise.

INEOS have come in and are trying to get the club back on track. Yes, mistakes have been made, but im glad someone has stepped in before things get really bad.

And the "full sale only" shit. Please. Maybe the 1958 can go and find some buyers with 5billion to spend on a declining football club.

These were some easy points to counter, not sure why he just rolled over when they questioned things.

On a separate note, wasn’t it the 1958 who were acting like some sort of gangsters calling out Arnold and the Glazers over things like the super league etc, but completely rolled over where he met them and said we’re in Barcelona trying to sign Frenkie de Jong? And we wonder why the club doesn’t take us seriously.

Spot on.

Only two parties stepped forward to invest, and with one of them we’re still 50/50 if he even exists.

Ineos tried to buy the club, quickly realised they weren’t yet ready to sell it all, so pivoted and got control of the football operations through investment. Fans need to chill and just see how it plays out, and none of what you said should even need explaining. They’re not coming to make people unemployed and ruin the club, why would they do that? Fair enough try to fight against ticket increases as they can make savings elsewhere, but they need to be picking their battles and I bet the club will be willing to give in on some things.

Yes that's obvious but I was thinking more about the rest of the season and if anyone had already got their tickets.
Ideally nobody wants to give up their ST but if the prices go through the roof I can imagine quite a few will. Maybe they will decide through next season then they can do as I suggested.
We've got to start somewhere and I thought the silence through the game was a good idea that will be noticed.

Is there still a waiting list for season tickets? And is there a messaging group for all St holders to communicate?

And it is debatable whether Qatar were actually in the race, or if it was all PR pre the World Cup.

Jim ./ Ineos invested 1.5mil. That alone would have allowed them to buy any one of 14 of the 20 clubs in the PL.

Its naive to think they would sit back and just let that investment dwindle away. Im glad they are being proactive. What started off as them having "sporting control" seems to have developed into them running most facets of the club. The Glazers, we know are happy to sid on their hands and do nothing - they have made their money so are they really interested in putting them time in to make more when the growth is starting to plateau? The club value has gone up by 5x in 15 years. Football clubs wont continue to grow at that rate.

How anyone, let alone an ex-player, can speak positively about the Glazers, baffles me.
They were paid by the Glazers. The glazers are still majority owners so they will want to keep good relations with the club in case any future jobs become available. For people like Gary Neville he is part of the OT project.
