Football wasn't as data intensive then as it has been in the last 10 years, I think they'd have had to have adapted more if they were still in charge now.
The whole area of sports science has come a long way in the last decade, and I think scouting too. United had to rise to the Chelsea challenge in the Abramovich era, then City was still on the rise when he left after getting the title with RVP, SAF never had to deal with the financial doping city.

They're also demanding “immediate corrective action” be made to the club’s SEC filings and accuse Ratcliffe of making comments in his interview in February that represented a breach of the confidentiality agreement signed by all parties concerning the sales process.

I was a huge Qatar and wanted them to take over . But I am glad that SJR has taken over and we have a new hierarchy coming in. This is done guys. Get over it !

So in reality they are upset he told on them after they tried to sabotage his relationship with fans by funding hit pieces about SJR "lacking money for a full bid". Smoke and mirrors.

Tbf to @Rood, though, he was absolutely coining it in from the Qatari deep state, so his enthusiasm was understandable.
Jassim would've probably helped his cause a bit by actually being in public so people could verify that he exists. At a minimum, to avoid the public perception that he was little more than a thinly veiled facade to mask the government of Qatar taking over United.
Fans opinion on ownership doesn’t matter even an iota, as far as the Glazers concern.

Agree that United shouldn't be state owned, but in fairness, those wanting Jassim to buy were generally of the opinion that he was independent of the state of Qatar.

Given how much the Glazers wanted, I doubt anyone would've actually paid that much for an outright sale.

People just saw it as a click of the fingers and United are where they used to be and where City are now. That’s what millions signed up for and haven’t been close to enjoying for 10-15 years now. I’m not calling them all glory hunters but that’s the truth.

im not that big a fan of the Brexiteer greenwashing SJR either but it was the lesser of two evils in my eyes.
Could be right and more importantly I think the Glazers preferred the minority deal which gave them a big profit and still retain majority control

Definitely! Especially after so many cry (correctly) over how unfair City are and how they've gotten away with so much, but essentially want exactly the same just to cheat a few trophies.
The article does give that impression but there is a very clear route to making what actually is a formal complaint about SEC filings. You would complete a TCR referral form and submit it directly to the exchange. They've been going on about a corrective filing since January - "just do it" is the simple response. Don't just feed messages through The Athletic or Sky Sports News presenters to demonstrate how serious you are. The rest is just lawyers being a little performative. It only becomes formal if they initiate any action, until then it's just the same as if you or I wrote them a strongly worded letter.
